Chapter one hundred and seventieth, puzzled

After entering the late 19th century, the colonial wave came to an end. The land suitable for colonial areas in the world has been divided up, and all that is left is a bit of scraps and hard bones.

As colonial expansion continues to deepen, buffers between countries no longer exist, and international conflicts are increasing.

Especially the competition for the remaining land was even more intense. This situation continued until the "British-British War". After a serious pk in South Africa, everyone realized the horror of the war and gradually calmed down.

The essence of European colonization is to make money, not the so-called expansion of territory. While conducting colonial struggles, everyone must first consider the issue of investment and return.

Britain, France and the Austrians were both winners in the colonial era. Even the French Empire, which had the fewest colonies, started tens of millions of square kilometers.

As vested interests, Britain, France and Austria were all full. The pursuit of colonies was no longer so enthusiastic. The most fertile areas had been divided up, and the remaining scraps of materials were no longer worthy of the confrontation between the Three Kingdoms.

The British took the initiative to propose the alliance between the Three Kingdoms. In addition to dividing the French-Austrian alliance, they also wanted to ease the conflicts with the French-Austrian alliance.

Open the map and you will know that Britain, France and the Austrians have occupied half of the earth. As long as there is no problem in the three countries, this hegemony cannot be shaken at all.

For vested interests, stability is the best choice. Everyone is wearing shoes now and cannot play as hard as they did during barefoot periods.

The three-legged tripod is the most stable structure. Before the balance is broken, it is difficult for the world situation to be in chaos. In fact, the contradiction between Pratt and Russia was deliberately let go.

The three countries can share the world together, which is more profitable than the four or five countries that share the world together.

Prussia and Russia are not weak in strength. If they do not fight each other, they also have the strength to participate in the division of the world, which is something that all old empires do not want to see.

Under the common will of the Three Kingdoms, the conflict between Prat. Russia cannot be resolved. Just like the conflict between France and Germany in the original time and space, there is no possibility of easing if there is no victory or defeat.

...

At the Vienna Palace, Franz also has high expectations for this meeting of the Three Kingdoms. Don’t look at Britain, France and Austria to confront each other, but everyone’s position on core issues is still the same.

For example: maintain European stability, attack the challengers of the new empire, and consolidate the world hegemony of the three countries.

If we look at the distribution ratio of hegemony, the three countries of Britain, France and Austria are basically 4.2:3.0:2.8. Judging from the data alone, Austria seems to be at a disadvantage, which is completely inconsistent with its national strength.

However, the accounts cannot be calculated like this. The so-called hegemony is essentially the international discourse power. Austria joined the colonial and expanded much later than Britain and France, and its influence overseas is naturally not as good as Britain and France.

This cannot be changed overnight. Anyway, as long as you get the actual interests, Franz is not in a hurry to have international influence.

Foreign Minister Wesenberg handed over a document: "Your Majesty, this is the draft of the first day of negotiations. The main contents are two parts:

First, use the treaty situation to clarify the sphere of influence of each country and reduce international conflicts. In the later stage, other colonial countries may be invited to participate;

Second, jointly suppressing potential competitors, and the British also divided the numbers according to the threat.

In the first echelon are: the Russian Empire and the United States of America;

The second tier is: Popo Federation, the Union of America, and Spain;

There are more people in the third echelon, including: Nordic Federation, German Federal Empire, Brazil, Argentina...

In general, except for the first and second tier countries, the rest is not enough to worry about. These countries may have development potential, but there is no sign of any rise in the short term."

There is no doubt that this threat report is simply a matter of making up the numbers. Now the British are only truly worried about threats in their hearts, and other countries are still too far away from them.

If you really want the three countries of Britain, France and Austria to cooperate sincerely, unless the Russian Empire cheats and swallows the Pubo Federation in one bite, it may also cause panic among the three countries and join forces to attack.

Otherwise, everyone would just talk or make things difficult for diplomacy. It is usually impossible to directly target. The relationship between the Three Kingdoms is not that good, and it is too difficult to let go of their guards and cooperate completely.

Franz took over the document: "Let's talk about the division of spheres of influence first! What do we need to pay for those regions to obtain?

To suppress a new and powerful country, it is not a matter of overnight success. We just need to prevent the United States from unifying and not letting the PKR decide the outcome."

It’s not that Franz doesn’t know the importance of suppressing his competitors. The problem is that these countries are not yet limited in strength, and everyone is not aware of the threat at all.

The British had already made it very strategically wise to be able to propose it so early. However, these threats only exist in the future, full of uncertainty, while the interests of dividing the sphere of influence are in front of us.

Politics cannot be taken for granted, and no one can ignore immediate interests in order to combat possible future enemies.

Instead of worrying about potential competitors, it is better to consider the competitors in front of you first. It is good to have a good vision and look at the problem far, but the prerequisite for all this is that Austria is still strong.

If you lack strength and are not qualified to share world hegemony, then even if you kill all these potential competitors, you will be a wedding dress for others.

Wesenberg replied: "This time it covers a wide range, covering almost the entire world, including the Mediterranean, West Asia, South Asia, Far East, Africa, South America and other regions.

The main concerns about our interests are in the Mediterranean, Africa, South Ocean, South America, and West Asia and the Arabian Peninsula.”

Franz was shocked. If this plan became a reality, the international situation would undergo earth-shaking changes again.

The major colonial empires divided their spheres of influence through the treaty situation, which seemed to have little effect. In fact, as long as an agreement was reached, the conflicts between countries would be reduced by half.

Even if there is a conflict, everyone can let the three major powers intervene in the mediation, greatly reducing the possibility of war breaking out.

From this point of view, it doesn’t look like John Bull’s style at all. When did the British love peace so much?

Well, Franz admits he is biased against the British, but this is the conclusion that countless cases have piled up.

In recent hundreds of years, more than half of the wars in Europe have been related to the British, but they really have nothing to do with their love for peace.
