Chapter 85 Contact

Pete looked around and said, "This place is much better than the previous place. Will our reconnaissance start soon?"

Donovan waved his hand, and stopped after taking everyone to an open space, saying, "Let's rest first." After that, he looked at Eric and said, "What do you think?"

Eric took out the water he carried with him and poured it on two mouthfuls, saying, "It's time to rest. I have to inquire with the Georgians in my hometown."

Donovan nodded and looked at the others and said, "Eat something first and have a rest." He said, looking at Matt and Eli and said, "How do you feel?"

"Fortunately, there is no special feeling except pain." Ailly said, looking at Epit, and said, "I can participate in your reconnaissance operation."

"No need." Donovan waved his hand, "This has been arranged." After saying that, he looked at Matt and said, "What about you? How about you?"

Matt leaned his head against a pillar and looked very tired, "My legs are already stiff. Is it not good or bad?"

"Okay." Donovan said as he sat down. After breathing a long sigh of relief, he looked at everyone and said, "Please sort out your own items later. Take out all the food, fill your stomach before departure and throw away the rest, and don't need to bring any extra ammunition. Everyone only brings enough water." As he said that, he looked at Eric and said, "When are you planning to set out for reconnaissance?"

Eric said while drinking water: "It's definitely not possible today. It's meaningless to go out at night. We don't have night vision equipment, and we may get lost when we enter the mountains. It's going to be early tomorrow morning, how about setting out at three o'clock?"

"I have no objection if you think you still have time to do this." Donovan said and took out the food. "To be honest, it would be great if we could contact people outside."

When Eric heard him say this, he seemed to have thought of something. He stood up and said, "I'll ask them who can contact them here. Maybe we can really contact outside, but it may take some trouble." After that, he walked towards the Georgians.

Pete immediately stood up and followed. After a while of inquiries, Eric found a communications office in a basement on the other side of the square. However, here he could only contact people in the city of Tshinvalli, and at most he could contact the brigade command post of the First Brigade of Georgia.

He was already satisfied with this Eric, and he immediately asked the Georgians to contact him, and even made up an excuse to lie that he had important information about them.

Perhaps because Eric is an American, these Georgians easily believed him and not only contacted him, but also specially found people who could speak English here.

Seeing that the other party was so serious, Pete immediately whispered to Eric: "What are you going to say to their brigade people? Is it really intelligence?"

"Information? Hell intelligence." Eric was obviously an old fry. After chuckling, he said, "I should have said it long ago. Now I just want to leave here. I can't die here, let alone fall into the hands of the Russians."

"Then what are you going to say?" Peter said as he looked around, "Others are in trouble, but they don't have the heart to joke with you."

"Don't worry," said Eric. "I'll just make up some of it now. Anyway, I'll just repeat what I expected before, and the point is to let them help me contact the people in Tbilisi. So that we can get support."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Georgian, who was in charge of the translation, looked at Eric and said, "Mr. Eric, the phone has been connected. It is the brigade department. Who are you looking for?"

"I'm going to find Brigade Commander Burcanazze." Eric said with confidence, "I have something important to tell him about the Russians."

The translator quickly spoke to the phone, and saw that after a moment of silence on the other side of the phone, another person spoke. After the man spoke, the translator stood up straight and said a few words in a very respectful tone, then looked at Eric and said, "Mr. Eric, the brigade commander asked me to tell you that the people in Tbilisi have been contacting you, and they asked you to return to Tbilisi immediately."

"Return?!" Eric smiled bitterly and said, "I want to go back now, but I was bombed by the Russians and couldn't get out of the city. Now I want to leave the city from here, because as far as I know, it is safer to the west around Tskhinvalli."

After speaking to the other side of the phone, the translator said, "The Brigade Commander asked me to tell you that you are right. Now the Russians are continuously increasing troops to the east of the north, and the entire southern road to Gori has been bombed and blocked. He wants to know what your specific plan is?"

"Plan? Plan means that I want to leave here after the reconnaissance route. The time is in the early morning tomorrow. If it goes well, I will go to Znauri. I will find a way to leave when I get there. If I can contact the people in Tbilisi, please tell them and pick me up in Znauri." Eric said.

The translator quickly translated the past, said something from the opposite side and turned to look at Eric again, saying, "The brigade commander said he will report your plan to the Tbilisi side soon. Let you wait here first."

"Okay. No problem. I can wait." Eric said, and found a place to sit down. After seeing the other party hang up the phone, he turned to Pitt: "It seems we don't need to provide any information."

Pete looked at the Georgian and said, "It seems that Tbilisi has been looking for you after losing contact, and is very anxious. Otherwise, the brigade commander would not pay so much attention to this matter."

"Haha." Eric smiled mysteriously and said, "They don't want me to fall into the hands of the Russians. At least it is more serious than the brigade commander being caught by the Russians."

Pete smiled and said nothing more. It wasn't that he didn't believe it, but that he really believed it. Because obviously what this guy did was secret matters. He was just a person who did intelligence, especially the person he met at Tshinvalli's school. It must be very important to meet with such a big risk. Needless to say, these things were obviously related to the Russians. Maybe even Georgia didn't know about these things, but they were just serving the United States. That's why he brought his own and his group of people to do this.

"But now this is exactly what we need most." Eric said again when he saw that Pete had not spoken, and as soon as he finished speaking, news from the voyage department in the city came.

The person in charge of the translator picked up the phone and hung up the phone after listening to a few words. Then he said to Eric: "The instructions from the brigade ministry just made you wait here. The brigade ministry has reported your news and your plan to Tbilisi. According to the instructions from Tbilisi, there will be a platoon of soldiers to protect you from Tskhinvali. Someone will also be waiting for you in Znauri."
