Chapter 15 Cold Brother
Section 1
In the ward of the school hospital, Harry was lying alone in the bed. In the middle of the night, Harry suddenly woke up, and it was pitch black all over. He screamed in pain: There seemed to be countless large lobes in his arms. At first, he thought it was his arms that woke him up, and then, he realized in horror that someone was wiping his forehead with a sponge in the dark.
"Go away!" he said loudly, and immediately, he recognized it, "Doby!"
The house elf stared at Harry in the dark with two big tennis-like eyes. A teardrop rolled down his long, sharp nose.
"Harry Potter was back at school," he whispered sadly, "Doby reminded Harry Potter several times. Oh, sir, why don't you listen to Doby's warning? Why don't Harry Potter go home without catching the train?"
Harry held up from the pillow and pushed Dobby's sponge away.
"What are you doing here?" he asked. "How do you know I didn't catch the train?" Dobby's lips trembled, and Harry suddenly became suspicious.
"You did it!" Harry said slowly, "You blocked the partition walls and prevented us from going over!"
"That's true, sir." Dobby said, nodding desperately, slapping his big ears, "Dobby hid beside him, waiting for Harry Potter, and then sealed the passage. Afterwards, Dobby had to use an iron to burn his hands-" He showed Harry his ten long fingers tied with bandages, "But Dobby didn't care, sir, Dobby thought Harry Potter was safe now, and Dobby never dreamed that Harry Potter would go another way to school!"
He shook his body back and forth, his ugly big head kept swaying.
"Dobby was so shocked that he heard that Harry Potter had returned to Hogwarts. He burned his master's supper! What a great whip, Dobby hadn't experienced it before, sir..."
"You almost made Ron and I fired, which made my brother worried for a day." Harry said irritably, "You'd better avoid my bones while they haven't grown well, Dobby, or I'll strangle you to death."
Dobby was stunned when he heard Harry talk about Sauron, and then smiled faintly. "Dobby is used to the threat of death. Dobby can reach it five times a day at home." He blew his nose with the corner of the dirty pillowcase he was wearing, and he looked pitiful.
"Why are you wearing that kind of thing, Dobby?" Harry asked curiously.
"Is this, sir?" Dobby said, pulling the pillowcase, "This symbolizes the slave status of a house elf.
Mr. Dobi can only be free when his master wears his clothes. He is very careful in the family and does not even give a pair of socks to Dobi, Mr. Dobi, because in that case, Dobi will be free and leave their house forever."
Dobby rubbed his raised big eyes and suddenly said, "Harry Potter must go home! Dobby thought his roaming ball would definitely make--"
"Your roaming ball?" Harry asked, and his anger rose again, "What do you mean, your roaming ball? Did you let that roaming ball hit me?"
"It's not that you are killed, sir, it's definitely not that you are killed!" Dobi said in horror, "Dobi wants..."
Dobby didn't finish his words. Under Harry's horrified gaze, the elf seemed to be strangled by an invisible hand and carried it into the air, looking very painful, and then was slapped to the ground again.
With the glimmer of light coming through the window, Harry saw a black mist appearing in the air, and then condensed into a person. Harry looked at the strange person in horror and wanted to get his wand-
"Don't be afraid, Harry, it's me."
Harry breathed a sigh of relief. He heard it was Sauron's voice, and Dobby looked at Sauron and was extremely scared.
"Why are you here...what are you going to do?" Harry was about to ask why Soren came out so late, but was surprised to see Soren pull out his wand and tremble at Dobby sitting on the ground.
Sauron did not answer Harry, and the wand shook, and the elf was hung upside down in the air. Sauron stared at the elf, "It was because of you, my brother was abused by the Dursley family; because of you, my brother was almost expelled from the school; because of you, my brother was almost killed by the roaming ball." Sauron's voice became colder and colder, which made Harry, who wanted to persuade Sauron, dared not speak out.
"I never wanted to hurt Harry Potter, I just wanted to get him hurt and go home...Oh."
Sauron waved his wand, and the elf was thrown out and smashed against the wall opposite. Sauron walked in front of it and said in a dangerous tone: "Born lie! It seems that mine left a deep impression on you."
"No, Dobby hasn't lie to you. For Dobby, Harry Potter is like a beacon in the dark. A terrible thing is about to happen to Hogwarts. Harry Potter will be in danger, because history is about to repeat itself, and the secret room is opened once-"
Dobby was stunned, terrified, and Sauron frowned tightly. Then, he hung the elf in the air with his wand, stared at its big eyes with a terrifying look, and said coldly: "How did you know that the secret room was opened, who is your master?"
"Doby can't say, sir, Doby can't say, Doby can't say, Doby can't say!" screamed. "Go home, Harry Potter, go home."
Sauron snorted coldly. "Silently," Sauron said. The elf was like a rooster strangled, and could not make any sound. He could only open his mouth in vain.
"It seems you need a little reminder," said Sauron, pointing his wand at the elf and whispering: "Cut the heart."
Dobby's face was filled with pain and fear, and he twitched in vain in the air. Harry did not hear Sauron chanting the spell, but could vaguely see the elf's pain. He instinctively realized that Sauron seemed to be doing something terrible to the elf.
"Soren, put it down first." Harry whispered.
Sauron looked back at Harry, put down his wand, and the elf fell to the ground, shrank into a ball, and sobbed gently.
"Now, tell me, who is your master?" Sauron's voice was cold.
Dobby collapsed on the ground, looked up at Sauron in fear, and looked at Harry pitifully, tears kept flowing out of his big eyes. This made Harry's heart soften.
"That, Sauron." Harry said cautiously, "Let him go first, don't be so anxious..."
Harry stopped before he finished speaking. Soren also looked at the door, and footsteps came from the corridor outside. Taking advantage of Soren's moment of being stunned, the elf disappeared. Soren, who was angry, snorted, and turned into black mist, floating in the air, leaving Harry on the hospital bed.
Those who came in from outside were Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, who were carrying a student, the petrified Clivie. Soren did not stay in the ward and left directly through the door. As they passed by them, Dumbledore felt him faintly and frowned and glanced at the ward.
"What's wrong, Albus?" asked Professor McGonagall.
Dumbledore shook his head slowly, "Nothing." He whispered, "Go and call Mrs. Pomfrey."
Sauron went out and went straight to the Slytherin Lounge. He was not until the portrait before he could re-create his body in the corner.
The next morning, Harry woke up and found that his arm had a new bone, but it was very stiff. Thinking back on everything last night, Harry was eager to see how Colin was, but there was a curtain hanging around his hospital bed and there was no way to see what was inside. After Mrs. Pomfrey came in and checked him, he let him leave.
Harry wanted to find Soren, but he didn't know where he was, so he returned to the Gryffindor Tower. To his disappointment, Hermione and Ron were not there. After a long walk, Harry finally found them in the toilet room of the crying Myrtle - they were making a compound decoction in a small single room.
"Come in." Hermione pulled him into the room, "How is your arm?"
"It's great." Harry said, and squeezed into the small room. There was a cauldron on the toilet. Harry heard a crackling sound from the toilet, and knew that they had set a fire below. He used magic to create a portable waterproof fire, which was Hermione's specialty.
"We were going to see you, but we decided to boil the compound decoction first." Ron said, and Harry had a great effort to lock the small room back.
"We think it's safest to hide here." Harry was about to talk to them about Colin, but Hermione interrupted him. "We already know, and this morning, I heard Professor McGonagall tell Flitvie. So we decided to--"
"We'd better let Malfoy confess the quicker, the better," Ron said angrily. "Do you know what I think? He's been depressed since the Quidditch game. He's been angrily suffocating Colin."
"Maybe we can talk to Sauron," Harry said uncertainly, "Let Sauron warn Malfoy, you know, Malfoy is afraid of Sauron."
"It's useless," said Hermione. "We have no evidence. Malfoy will not admit it. If a student is attacked, the mastermind will definitely be fired and may even be tried by the Ministry of Magic."
"One more thing," Harry said as Hermione shredded bunches of binaural grass and threw them into the decoction, "Doby came to see me in the middle of the night, and then Sauron came too, well, no, I guess he should have arrived before Doby."
Ron and Hermione looked up in surprise. Harry told them everything Dobby said in the ward last night, but did not mention that Soren treated Dobby rudely. Ron and Hermione were stunned.
"The secret room has been opened before?" said Hermione. "It's clear now," Ron said in a proud tone. "Lucius Malfoy must have opened the secret room when he was in school here, and now he teaches his dear little Draco to do this. This is obvious. But I really wish Dobby had told you what monster was locked in there. I really don't understand, why no one noticed it when it was walking around in school?"
"Maybe it can make itself invisible," Hermione said, stabbing some leeches into the bottom of the pan, "or it can disguise itself - into a piece of armor or something. I've read the story of the color-changing ghost in the book..."
"You read too much," Ron said, pouring some dead grass worms onto the leeches. He crumpled the empty pockets of the grass worms into a ball, and turned his face to look at Harry. "How did he run to you without being discovered? Does he have an invisible cloak, too?"
"Maybe it's a magical mantra," said Hermione. "I guess what spell Soren should have used to make himself invisible, right, Harry."
Harry nodded hesitantly. Although he didn't know how to use the magical body curse, he knew clearly that the strange way that Sauron turned into black fog was definitely not related to the magical body curse. He also thought of the coldness when Sauron treated Dobby last night, and Harry felt a little uncomfortable.
"Are you okay, man?" Ron asked, seeing Harry's face was not very good.
"Nothing, it's just a little awkward." Harry lied. He didn't want Ron and Hermione to know what Sauron did last night.
