Chapter 19 Sniper Rifle

"Keep going!" I ignored the call from the walkie-talkie and still held the gun and led the soldiers to attack the top of the mountain.

It’s not that I hold a grudge against Commander Zhang, nor that I don’t want to save him, but that I know that the best way to rescue them at this time is to attack. In fact, at this time, I send any unit to ask Commander Zhang and his troops, which will put more troops in danger. So the only way out is to take down the top position as soon as possible!

"Fifth Company and Five Company! Why can't I come back? What's the point?" There was a voice from the intercom that didn't know who it was. I could imagine him being furious, but I didn't have time to pay attention to him. I made a gesture back and asked the soldiers to speed up.

Four hundred meters!

It has already entered the range of 56 and a half, so my hanging heart has been slightly relieved. Then I missed the m1 rifle used in the war even more. The range of 56 and a half is indeed too short, and it should be said to be a carbine. Later I learned that the Type 56 semi-automatic rifle is indeed a carbine, which is a copy of the Soviet sks semi-automatic carbine. I think... no sniper would like to use a carbine.

Three hundred and fifty meters!

The gunshots and cannons were still sounding violently on the backscene. Perhaps the Vietnamese army focused all their attention on the team of Commander Zhang, or perhaps the disguise on our bodies made us inconspicuous on this hillside full of weeds, or perhaps the smoke and dust filled the entire battlefield... In short, the Vietnamese army had not discovered our team until this time.

Perhaps, Captain Zhang's team should have discovered that we are attacking! Because the intercom is gone, or... the soldiers who are holding the intercom and calling for help have already died?

No matter what! At this time, I only have one way, that is, rush up and step on all the enemies under my feet!

Three hundred meters!

It is good to have a gentle slope on the ridge for attack, but the disadvantage of a gentle slope is that we have to walk longer. In addition, it is daytime, so I have no hope of rushing to the top of the mountain without the enemy being aware of it. I am already satisfied to be able to rush to the distance of 300 meters, because at this distance, I am very confident that I will defeat all the enemies that appear in front of me, even if he only reveals one head.

Suddenly, two Vietnamese soldiers' straw hat-shaped helmets emerged on the edge of the mountain top position. But I didn't shoot because I knew that the Vietnamese soldiers' helmets were shallow, and I stood below and shot upward. Even if I could hit, it was very likely that they would just knock off their helmets or wipe them a layer of skin.

So I stared at them with a gun, and still running forward. It was not easy to do this on a rough road. On the one hand, I had to pay attention to the road under my feet, and on the other hand, I had to adjust the height of the sight according to the height and low as I was moving forward.

I don’t know if it was luck or something else, but in the next second I found that my patience had saved my life in the past few seconds.

"Bang!" With a gunshot, I was surprised to find that two soldiers, one in front and one behind, fell to the ground at the same time.

The word "sniper!" quickly broke into my mind. At the same time, he said intimidatingly. If I fired just now, the Vietnamese sniper hidden in the dark would likely find me, a "master", at the first time. Then, waiting for my ending, you don't have to think about it.

"Bang!" Another gunshot was heard, and a soldier beside him fell to the ground without snorting. The bullet hit his head, and I could even see a blood column spurting out from the back of his head.

He didn't want to kill people, but wanted to shock us! I quickly came to this conclusion.

As a sniper, I certainly know what the purpose of performing a double shot and a headshot in front of the enemy is to perform a gunfire! If he wants to kill as many people as possible, then he can kill five to six enemies in the same time as a double shot and a headshot. The purpose of his doing this is to put pressure on us, to make us afraid, and to retreat without fighting...

I have to admit that the Vietnamese snipers have achieved his goal, because the soldiers' pace quickly slowed down. In fact, not only the soldiers were afraid, but I was also afraid, so scared that their scalp was numb. This is a very strange feeling. We are like a group of lambs to be slaughtered, and our lives seem to be no longer in our hands. We are just waiting for the other party to solve the problem of whoever they dislike.

I dared not stop, nor did I dare to turn the gun, because I was worried that any conspicuous action might attract his attention. I was even more afraid to order the soldiers to stop moving forward. One was that there was no place to hide on this ridge, and the other was that at this time the orders were tantamount to seeking death.

After quickly glanced at the top of the mountain, I couldn't help but feel a little discouraged. Because it was approaching evening, the sun was just west and hung on the top of the mountain on the 339 Highlands. Although the sun was not very dazzling, it was enough to cover up all the whereabouts of the Vietnamese snipers.

I was really careless. Seeing this, I couldn't help but feel secretly hated. I used this point in the early morning to conquer the 386 high ground, but after only a few hours, I put myself in this unfavorable state of facing the sun.

What should I do? I quickly thought in my mind that if the soldiers had the courage to rush up, they could rush to the top of the mountain to shoot the Vietnamese sniper. After all, we had two platoons of nearly 60 soldiers, and the distance was only more than 200 meters. We only had to rush to a distance of 40 or 50 meters, a row of grenades and then rushed forward. No matter how good his shooting skills were, he would only surrender...

But do the soldiers have that courage? Humans are all animals with emotions. Along the way, I see comrades lying one by one and dying in front of me, who is not afraid? At the same time, I am not willing to pay such a large casualty in exchange for an enemy sniper!

Now I am suffering because I cannot order the soldiers to stop moving forward or lie down, otherwise it will be easy to die because they exposed their identity as a "cadre". On the other hand, the soldiers who only follow me mustered up the courage to rush up...

Just when I was in a dilemma and the soldiers were in a dilemma, the two Vietnamese soldiers I had been staring at suddenly emerged from the top of the mountain and held the ak47 and shot at us. So the soldiers and I naturally lay down to avoid the bullets.

In fact, I could have shot the two Vietnamese soldiers when they first appeared, but I didn't do that. One reason was that I didn't want to expose my marksmanship to Vietnamese snipers, and the other reason was that I needed a reason to lie down.

The moment I lay on the ground, I analyzed the situation of the enemy and me. The enemy's advantage is condescending and backlit. My advantage is that he doesn't know my existence at all. If he doesn't know my existence, he will inevitably have the desire to underestimate the enemy; if he underestimates the enemy, he will make mistakes, and what I am waiting for is that he makes mistakes!

The two Vietnamese soldiers who were emerging did not need any attention. The soldiers' bullets quickly knocked them to the ground. After all, at a distance of more than 200 meters, the ak47 did not have much advantage compared to 56 and a half. I held my rifle and stared at every inch of land on the top of the mountain, waiting for the Vietnamese sniper to fire again.

But what made me helpless was that in the contrast of the sunset, everything on the top position of the Vietnamese army was dark and so vague. I believe that even if the Vietnamese sniper fired again, I might not be able to find out where he was hiding. And... his next target is likely to be me!

But what surprised me was that after waiting for a while, I didn't find anyone around me was shot and fell to the ground. After thinking for a while, I realized that, as I had guessed before, his purpose was not to kill us all. In fact, he couldn't do this. He wanted to stop us from rushing up to occupy the top position... so we stopped and he stopped killing.

But why is this?

I don't believe that the Vietnamese snipers would not be able to kill us. After all, in their eyes, we are undoubtedly the invaders. If possible, he would kill every Chinese who appeared in his sight like Li Shuibo.

"Damn it! Sharpshooter!" I was thinking about the sudden shouts of my hometown people from the walkie-talkie came from the walkie-talkie: "Plane Commander Cui! The enemy has Sharpshooter..."

Listening to the voices of the people in my hometown, I suddenly understood! Our offensive was divided into two groups based on the ridge. He had successfully blocked our way, but he had not blocked the people in my hometown.

At this moment, I suddenly knew the hiding position of the Vietnamese sniper. Obviously, if I want to control the two attacks between me and my hometown people at the same time, his sniper position must be in the center of the ridge, because only here can I see the left and right sides of the ridge at the same time!

He underestimated the enemy too much. Maybe he had seen the attack initiated by Commander Zhang and came to the conclusion that our army was not of high combat quality, so he was so arrogant that he wanted to intimidate the offensive of our two platoons with one person. But what he didn't expect was that our two platoons were not only very different from Commander Zhang's troops, but also I was one of them.

After thinking about it, my hand did not slow down. The sight of the star stretched along the ridge line toward the top position, approaching the intersection of the top position and the sunlight. Sure enough, a few grasses trembled slightly in the sunlight were found here. The trembling of these grasses was very strange. They did not flutter naturally in the evening breeze, but a violent tremor from the roots and then another violent tremor!

So I quickly understood that these grasses were disguised on the helmet of the Vietnamese sniper. Every time he fired, the recoil on the stock would shake the grass a few times!

Thinking of this, I couldn't help but have a murderous intent. The sight of the sight moved slightly down the trembling grass. At this time, the Vietnamese sniper seemed to have felt something and suddenly turned his gun around, but everything was too late...

I gently pulled the trigger with my index finger, and with the "bang" sound, a figure shook his whole body and stopped moving in the afterglow of the setting sun that was gradually falling down the mountain.

"Clear the target! Go!" Before I finished speaking, I quickly got up from the ground and rushed towards the top of the mountain.

At this time, I suddenly lost my patience, that is, I no longer had the same calmness as before, nor did I cooperate with the soldiers. I felt something was attracting me, and I rushed up to grab it at all costs.

Actually, I know very well that this thing is the sniper rifle in the hands of the Vietnamese sniper. There are two reasons why I am so anxious: one is that the 56 and a half in my hand is really unsuitable. For a sniper, the range of 400 meters is like a goshawk's wings broken and a tiger's teeth are pulled out. Of course, more importantly, I know that sniper rifles are very important weapons for the People's Liberation Army and the Vietnamese Army. So once the sniper is killed on the battlefield, his assistant or comrades are likely to take away the sniper rifle. If you don't come in, you will also be destroyed, so as not to use this kind of murderous weapon for the enemy.

This is exactly what I am worried about. What I want now is to retrieve my wings and grab my teeth. Even if I risk my life for this, I don’t care!

I can't wait for the soldiers to find guns when they attacked the top position, because I know that before the soldiers attacked, they would throw a row of grenades to the top position. This row of grenades would likely blow up the sniper rifle. At that time, all I got was a pile of broken copper and iron.

Because of this, my sight never left the sniper's hiding position for a moment. While running towards the top of the mountain, I shot and killed all the Vietnamese troops close to the sniper position.

Later I realized that my approach was really dangerous. It should be said that any weapon is based on humans, especially individual weapons. So it is not wise to risk my life on the battlefield to grab a weapon, so I almost died under the grenades thrown by my comrades...

Bullets kept flying by my side, but I didn't care about these things at all. At that time, I was like a devil and just thought about what kind of gun it was. Could it be an m1 sniper rifle? Mostly not, the Americans had long since used m1 and switched to m16. Moreover, the equipment used by the Japanese invaders should be more Soviet-style equipment, after all, ammunition is different!

I have to admit that I don’t know much about modern sniper rifles, and I don’t even know what sniper rifles were used by the Soviet Union at this time. After all, I was just an ordinary journalist in modern times. Although I fought a war in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, I couldn’t get into information about modern sniper rifles. However, it was this unknown answer that aroused my strong curiosity. It was like a powerful invisible force that led me to keep running forward, wanting to see what was going on and see what was going on!

So along the way, I used all my strengths to roll, sometimes hide, sometimes lying down, sometimes running, while constantly approaching the target, and using the rifle in my hand to shoot and kill all the Vietnamese troops that might pose a threat to me.

But the more I rushed up, the more enemies I had to face. I don’t know whether it was because the Vietnamese army felt the threat on our side, or whether the troops of the regiment Zhang had retreated and reduced the pressure on the Vietnamese army. The Vietnamese army who were guarding this side just now could count it with ten fingers, but at this moment, a lot of people surrounded him.

This may be exactly what the Vietnamese sniper hopes! For the time being, we suppress our offensive and wait for reinforcements from our comrades. Unfortunately, his comrades had already fallen under my gun before they could come.

The Vietnamese troops also discovered me. In an instant, more than a dozen AK47s and a light machine gun were "waving..." and they were rushing at me, and they only pressed me into the crater and could not move.

Looking to the upper left, I was only a few steps away from the target. I was really unwilling to give up all my efforts. So I bit and threw out two grenades, temporarily suppressed the firepower of the Vietnamese army, and rolled forward two times, then climbed into the Vietnamese army's trenches.

What appeared in front of me was a dead body and a sniper rifle. The deceased held the sniper rifle in one hand and pulled the trigger with the other. There was a black hole as big as a thumb on his helmet, and some red and white things could be seen in it. Of course, that was not what I was interested in, and I only had that sniper rifle in my eyes.

I rescued the sniper rifle from the body of the Vietnamese army in just a few seconds, and I couldn't help but lit up in my hand... I seemed to have seen this kind of gun somewhere. Its biggest feature is that the butt stock is not solid but hollow. The gun body is yellow and black, and the entire structure gives people a feeling of being indulging in the power of life and death. Later I realized that this was actually the Su-style SVD sniper rifle. From the first glance at it, I knew that I was worth the trip!

At this time, I didn't know that I was very dangerous. I was in the trenches of the Vietnamese army. At this time, a large number of Vietnamese troops were rushing towards me. Once they jumped into this trench that originally belonged to them, I would never have the possibility of going back alive.

It's my life, not my life. At this critical moment, a few rows of black shadows suddenly passed by my head, and some even fell at my feet. I couldn't help but startle me when I saw it carefully. Those were grenades that were emitting blue smoke.

"These guys!" Seeing this, I couldn't help but curse. I knew I was on it, but I dared to throw grenades here. What do you think of this?

But I soon understood that the soldiers who followed me saw me rushing up, but the team of people from my hometown did not see it. I threw a row of grenades before charging, and that was not what I taught them...
