108 Post-Osborne Era

The temperature became lower and the raindrops fell again. A policeman rode a motorcycle to drive the lane for the hearse, followed by a long convoy.

This is the last sight of Norman Osborne, former president of Osborne Industry. This gentleman disappeared in a hijacking incident that caused a sensation across the United States some time ago. Later, the police confirmed that he had appeared in the building that day and found the video of him entering the building and his clothes he changed. Although he did not understand why he changed clothes there, through scientific inspection, the police confirmed that the hair on the clothes belonged to Mr. Osborne. In addition, more powerful evidence appeared on the 44th floor, where the forensic doctor found a small pool of blood under the plane through careful inspection, which was confirmed to be from Norman's body. Since the evidence was conclusive, after a procedure, the former Mr. President finally rested in peace. After the memorial service in the church today, relatives and friends went to the cemetery to hold a funeral ceremony for him.

"Norman is a good man. Although he looks a bit harsh on the outside, his friends know that he has a naive and cute side. I still remember..." A middle-aged man in black stood in front of the tombstone and remembered the little things of the past in front of the solemn crowd. Whenever he talked about interesting things that happened, people would smile. Harry was silently beside him and his face was solemn. He suddenly lost his father. He really couldn't laugh. He seemed to have grown up a few years overnight and never had the youthful appearance he used to be.

"Harry is pitiful, isn't he?" Mary Jane quietly approached Eric in a dignified black dress. She left Harry at some point, and she had been with her side.

"Are you worried about him?" Eric asked back, he didn't have to be too polite to Mary Jane. When he contacted him privately, the girl was not as harmless as she seemed. She had lost her original awe since she passed Norman's birthday party and spoke more and more rudely.

Now she is the same. She didn't blink when she heard the question, and she blocked her eyes and came back directly.

"I'm worried about you," she said, and Eric raised his eyebrows and did not respond.

"I'm worried you will disappoint Harry." Mary Jane finally expressed her intention. She refers to the tripartite agreement reached between Norman and Exploration Space and Eric during his lifetime. Eric provides magnetic suspension metal. Osborne and Exploration Space News supported it with funding and influence, but that was just a verbal agreement and there was no big constraint. Now Norman is away, and the attitude towards Exploration Space is unknown. If Eric tear down the consensus reached in the past, Osborne Industry, which was already very damaged, can only wait for bankruptcy and liquidation.

"Harry never wants the company his father has worked hard to go bankrupt, and I don't want Harry to be sad. If possible, please help him." Mary Jane said seriously.

Eric nodded but did not answer. It was not until the ceremony that Harry had finished dealing with the guests and rushed over with apologetically.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time." Harry said apologetically. Of course, Eric would not blame him for this. At his invitation, Eric got into Harry's car and the driver took them back to the Osborne mansion.

Sitting down in the living room, the butler brought the servant to bring drinks, and then left. He closed the living room door with his own hands, and now there are only Harry and the other two left in the place.

Harry looked at Mary Jane, and together with his girlfriend, thanked the mutant students for their rescue during the crisis that day, and then brought the relationship closer to the topic.

"The company's situation has not been very good recently. The board of directors has not been held due to shareholder inheritance issues, and it is now managed by me. Although the company is a bit difficult, given the wishes left by my father during his lifetime, I will continue to fulfill the donations I promised to Xavier Academy." Harry said, taking out a pre-prepared check, holding it in both hands and handed it to Eric.

This amount is enough to pay for the materials owed by Osborne and the first funding scheduled. Eric took a look and put it down. His expression was faintly unconscious. Harry felt a little uneasy when he saw this reaction. This was the largest amount of working capital he could mobilize. If this could not impress the man opposite, Osborne Industry would be one step closer to the end.

He couldn't help but look at Eric, secretly wondering what he was thinking. When Eric put down the check and pushed the piece of paper back, his blood immediately became cold. Every inch closer to him, Harry's face turned pale. When Eric's fingers left the table, his skin completely lost its blood.

"Did I not satisfy you?" Harry asked bitterly, as if he had been filled with a large cup of original coffee, and it was so thick that it could not be melted from the stomach to the mouth.

Eric looked at the young man opposite him. He had been hit enough today, but he had to put some pressure on him.

"I think you need it more," Eric said coldly, as if suggesting Harry's future.

Harry shook his head blankly: "Without your support, what's the use of me? The Ministry of Defense purchased Stark's Jericho missile and a series of arms, but we were not even able to achieve R&D costs. Magnetic metal is our last hope."

Mary Jane also looked over, and she looked at Eric with great enthusiasm, hoping that he could help a group of desperate boyfriends.

Eric ignored her, and even had the interest to take a look.

"Can Osborne be resurrected even with my help?" Eric shook his head coldly. "I am fortunate, Osborne is a lame giant. It is not its fault to tilt too much in the arms industry. Uncontrollable investment is the biggest disadvantage. The current situation was destined ten years ago. Once the national defense procurement is lost, today's situation will occur. This day is just staged in advance because of Norman's death. The crisis has been planted, and sooner or later there will be this day. Otherwise, why should shareholders rush to take action when good things are good, and wait for the price to sell to their best interests."

Harry's face dimmed. During this period, he had a preliminary understanding of Osborn's problem. The grand career he mentioned was not as indestructible as he described for himself. On the contrary, he took over a building that was about to fall, which was more dangerous than the one hit by a passenger plane. At least there were mutants who took the initiative to save him, but he looked around at a loss. Perhaps everyone could see himself standing alone on the reef that was about to be swallowed by the rising tide, but no one was willing to lend a helping hand and pull himself back to the shore from that dangerous land.

He once thought of giving up. He could get rid of his debts through bankruptcy, live his own life, or make a comeback after the dust fell, and build a big company like his father created Osborne. However, when he remembered his father's increasingly thin work for his career, he could no longer tolerate such selfish thoughts.

As of now, relying on Eric's help may be able to support it, but in the long run, corporate restructuring is the most effective way to eliminate the disadvantages according to Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Reform Law. He can continue to operate and own all his assets, and at the same time strive to come up with a restructuring plan to pay off his debts to his creditors.

But whether it is short-term emergency rescue or long-term planning, he has to rely on Eric. The defects of the human body strengthening formula among the two cutting-edge products of the company are too great. The strong toxic effect can keep any rational person away in an instant. Only the glider that can fly manned can convince the military to purchase. Moreover, Osborne has invested too much in the glider. Only magnetic suspended metal can make its performance excellent enough to achieve the purpose of persuading the military to purchase.

But why did Eric help himself?

Why?

At this moment, Harry envied those mutants of his age. In front of them, this college mentor was kind like an angel, generously opening a warehouse full of endless treasures to them, but in front of him, he was so stingy that he could only say a word.

Despair spread wildly in his heart. Just as Harry's last desire was about to turn into ashes, the angel finally issued a sound of saving the world.

"I can help you." Eric leaned against the sofa and looked over, his eyes as if there was a fire. "But you have to do what I said."

Harry thought he would hesitate, but he didn't. He looked at Eric's eyes and agreed.

The door of the living room opened, and the butler stood quietly in front of the gate, waiting for the call of the little master. He had served this family for many years, accompanied Norman to grow up, and watching Harry's birth, there was no change that could separate him from the Osborne family. When Harry came out, he looked over calmly, and Harry's expression had regained freedom, so he bowed from afar.

He nodded to the loyal old man, Harry asked his girlfriend to see him off on his behalf, and walked into the study to find documents. This was not intentional neglect, but now he is tied tightly with Eric, and the form is no longer important.

"I didn't expect you to do this." Eric came outside and was about to leave, but Mary Jane stopped him angrily. Her feelings for Harry were indeed a bit complicated, but she didn't want him to be sad from the bottom of her heart. Harry is a good person.

"My partner is still surnamed Osborne." Eric said lightly. He had nothing to be ashamed of. Like the Norman era, Harry still held the power of the company. If he was willing to do as agreed, his status would be even more stable than the previous generation, and the agreement reached with old Osborne was still valid. His position would be from the supplier to the major shareholder.

Perhaps the company that Norman founded never really belonged to the Osborne family, they were just agents.

"Is Osborne Industrial still the surname Osborne?" Mary Jane continued to question.

"You can call it the 'post-Osborne' era." Eric looked back and got on the stop car, gradually fading away in the girl's eyes.

No matter what others think, the blank economic map has been filled in again. (To be continued, please search for Astronomy, novels are better, updated and faster!
