First of all, the dive entry height must not be less than 1,500 meters. When dealing with battleships such as battleships with thick horizontal armor, it is best to reach 2,500 meters. Only by obtaining enough entry height can the bomb be given a fast enough speed through dive.

If the height is not enough, the speed at which the bomb is dropped is definitely not enough, and the bomb may not be able to penetrate the armor of the warship.

Secondly, the dive angle is best controlled between seventy and seventy-five degrees.

The dive angle cannot be too small, which is easy to understand. That is, if the dive angle is too small, the bomb's throwing distance, that is, the ballistic trajectory, will be extended, resulting in an increase in the deviation of the bombing point and a decrease in the end point speed, which will affect the bombing effect.

If the dive angle is too large, it will be very difficult for the dive bomber to change the dive.

Finally, the height of the bomb drop, which can also be said to be the height of the change. Because it is related to the performance of the dive bomber and the pilot's personal ability, it is impossible to generalize it. However, for ordinary pilots, the height of the change should be controlled at more than 800 meters.

The five dive bombers entered the dive at a height of less than two thousand meters and the dive angle was less than sixty degrees.

What's even more terrible is that because the target is a fast battleship that has been fully modified, the horizontal armor thickness must be above 100 mm, so the bomb must be given a fast enough initial speed to have enough kinetic energy to smash through the horizontal armor and pose a heavy blow to the battleship.

Don’t forget that the original target was an aircraft carrier, not a battleship!

Not to mention that the Navy's aircraft carrier does not use armored decks, even the Bran Navy's aircraft carriers, the thickness of the armored decks cannot be compared with the horizontal armor of the battleships.

The result is that the 250 kilograms of aviation armor-piercing bombs carried by dive bombers are all delays set for aircraft carriers!

What's the meaning?

The detonation delay time is relatively short!

If it is targeted at the main battleship, the delay time will be longer.

The fuse is installed before taking off and cannot be changed during flight.

Then, it can only make the aviation armor-piercing bombs "fly" faster!

In order to obtain a sufficiently fast bomb drop speed and the dive angle is not large enough, the five dive bombers did not slow down after entering the dive.

The first three aircraft were shot down by Zero War that were killed before the bomb was dropped.

The latter two dropped bombs at an altitude of about 700 meters, but they didn't have time to change it. One of them was shot down by a fighter plane, and the other was torn into pieces by anti-aircraft guns.
