Chapter 119 Fighting alone(1/2)

The 7th Armored Division is still in Saudi Arabia, in Al'ar, northwest of Rafha.

The key is that the force is still in a hidden state.

According to Ding Zhennan's deployment, after the combat operation to attack Bag X began, the 7th Armored Division would set out from the hidden assembly site of Al'al and attack Iraq northward. After occupying Nuhab, located in the heart of the desert and serving as the current base, the troops would be divided into two groups.

Go straight north, detour Ramadi, and detour toward Bagh X's north.

In addition, we advanced eastward, attacked Karba X, which was south of Bagh X, and continued to penetrate eastward.

If everything goes well, the two armies will be able to complete the encirclement of Bagh X.

It can be seen that the 7th Armored Division undertakes the most heavy combat mission.

The key point is that the 7th Armored Division is basically fighting alone. Even if Ding Zhennan makes arrangements and the 17th Armored Division is responsible for supporting it, the plan cannot keep up with the changes. The 17th Armored Division is now out of his way, and the 7th Armored Division may not be willing to receive friendly assistance.

Don't forget that the 7th Armored Division comes from the Northwest War Zone, while the 17th Armored Division comes from the Western War Zone.

Although the Northwest Theater and the Western Theater Command are not very conflicted, they are definitely not harmonious, and there has always been a competitive relationship between the two.

In fact, the Imperial Army only has these two main war zones.

To put it bluntly, the internal competition of the Imperial Army also mainly occurred in these two war zones.

In the past, after any main combat equipment was put into production, the first thing to determine was which unit to be provided to, or which war zone troops were first.

Usually these two war zones take turns to take over the banker.

For example, the ZT-99 is first provided to the 7th Armored Division, and after the BZ-98 is officially put into service, the 17th Armored Division will be given priority.

Of course, it mainly happens between armored forces. After all, the new main battle platform is first provided to the armored forces.

This has led to a very obvious competitive relationship between the armored troops in the two war zones, and it has become quite tense.

To put it more directly, this refers to the 7th Armored Division and the 17th Armored Division.

After the last war, the troops were numbered again, and the two sides had a dispute as they used the number "7".

According to rumors, the first division commander of the 7th Armored Division was in the end and had better luck and won the lottery.

Because they did not get the number "7", the officers and soldiers of the 17th Armored Division are still worried and believe that someone was cheating when they were drawing lots.

With this relationship, the commander of the 7th Armored Division will definitely not take the initiative to ask for help from the 17th Armored Division.

This refers not only to the Posar Bay War, but also to the larger global war!

Interestingly, after the outbreak of the global war, only a few combat troops in the Western Theater Command were able to quickly rush to assist the Northwest Theater. As long as it could not withstand, no matter what the commander of the 7th Armored Division felt, he had to ask for help from the nearby 17th Armored Division.

That's why the 7th Armored Division has the largest organizational system among the three divisions.

There are a total of 6 combat brigades, 3 support brigades and more than 10 direct battalions of division headquarters.

Among them, the 701st, 702nd and 703rd Brigades are genuine armored brigades, and they are all enhanced. Not only are the troops hundreds more than the regular armored brigades, but there are also one more mechanic and intravenous battalion and a field artillery battalion, but there are also more main combat equipment than the regular armored brigades.

The 704th and 705th Brigades are the Mechanical Infantry Brigades, while the 709th Brigades are the newly formed Infantry Brigades.

The two marching brigades have nothing to introduce, they are comparable to the 17th Armored Division's marching brigade, and they are not strengthened like the Armored brigade.

The key is actually the 709th Infantry Brigade.

Although it is called the Infantry Brigade and is also organized into a combat unit, the brigade's total strength exceeds 10,000, and except for the main officers of the brigade headquarters, all the others are reserves.

In fact, the 709th Brigade is just a famous infantry brigade, and is essentially a logistics support brigade.

Because it is necessary to undertake the heavy responsibility of protecting the logistics supply line, the brigade also has quite strong combat effectiveness and has 5 real infantry battalions.

If you want to say it, this is an infantry unit specifically responsible for surrounding the logistics supply line.

This is also the number one mission of the 709th Infantry Brigade.

For the 7th Armored Division, it is indeed necessary to have such a combat force.

The reason is also very simple. From Al'ar to Nuhaib, the mileage of the road exceeds 250 kilometers. From Nuhaib north, whether to Ramadi or to Karba X, the mileage of the road exceeds 400 kilometers. Therefore, just from Al'ar, the length of the logistics supply line reaches 700 kilometers. If the two offensive routes are included, the total length of the logistics supply line exceeds 1,000 kilometers!

Obviously, the logistics burden is not an ordinary heavy!

That's true. In addition to the need for relevant help from the coalition forces, the 7th Armored Division must also have its own and more reliable support forces.

Because we have to go deep into Iraq to fight, this logistics support force must have sufficient combat effectiveness.

It is not a tough battle, but guarding the traffic line.

Because there is no need to go to the front line to fight, motorized infantry units are enough.

Among the support troops, the 706th and 707th Brigades are both artillery brigades, and they are both long-range artillery units directly under the division. The former's main combat equipment is 150mm self-propelled howitzers, while the latter's 300mm long-range rocket launcher has quite strong independent combat capabilities.

To put it simply, the two artillery brigades have their own support troops.

The 708th Brigade is a low-altitude assault brigade.

Unlike the strengthening of the air support brigade to the 17th Armored Division, the brigade has an armed assault battalion equipped with more than 30 armed helicopters and about 50 armed reconnaissance helicopters. The other four assault transport battalions are equipped with a total of more than 300 general-purpose helicopters and heavy helicopters.

Because it has a large number of armed helicopters, the 708th Low-altitude Assault Brigade has the strongest combat power in the entire army.

But now, only 5 combat brigades, 2 artillery brigades, and some division-level direct battalions are deployed in Al'ar, and other troops are still in the rear.

The main thing is that there are no more places near Al'ar where troops can be deployed secretly.

In order to keep it hidden and avoid being guessed by the enemy's combat intentions, the 7th Armored Division did not even build a field airport!

Of course, this is not a big problem.

The reason I chose Al-Ar is that there is a highway leading to Iraq here, and the end of this highway is Nuhab.

In addition, there are ready-made roads starting from Nuhab.

In other words, armored troops do not need field marches and can advance along the highway, while logistics support troops can also transport materials to the front line through the highway.

Obviously, this is the key.

The 17th Armored Division, which is in Semavo, was able to expand the local airport and solve the problem through air transport because there was no direct road.

Because there is a ready-made road, other troops can be sent up after the attack begins.

However, the situation has changed now.

When he arrived at Al'er, Ding Zhennan went to find Major General Lu Liaoyuan of the 7th Armored Division.

In fact, Lu Liaoyuan is also waiting for Ding Zhennan.

To be honest, Ding Zhennan was originally a subordinate of Lu Liaoyuan. It was because of his outstanding performance under Lu Liaoyuan that he had the opportunity to show his talents in front of Shi Suliang and thus became successful.

Of course, after going to the theater headquarters, Ding Zhennan did not forget this old leader.

In fact, Lu Liaoyuan is 20 years older than Ding Zhennan, and is only in his early 50s. Among the major generals of the army, he is very young.

After seeing Lu Liaoyuan, Ding Zhennan first explained the situation clearly.

The key point is that the Southern Subcontinent may start fighting at any time, and General Shi Suliang may return to the Northwest War Zone in the near future, so he has to speed up the attack on Bagh X and be fully prepared. The 17th Armored Division, who is supporting in the south, may not be able to help.

The reason is also very simple. The 17th Armored Division may be sent to the southern subcontinent.

For Fu Weimin, Ding Zhennan did not mention this matter, but was worried that Fu Weimin would be reserved during the battle and refused to use all his strength.

Although the Southern Subcontinent is within the jurisdiction of the Southern Theater Command and the 17th Armored Division is under the name of the Western Theater Command, there are no decent armored troops in the Southern Theater Command.

In addition, the focus of the Southern Theater Command is actually the Austrians, which are in the southwest and east.

On the southern subcontinent, only one mechanic division was deployed in the Southern Theater Command.

In fact, in the strategic system of the Imperial Army, the Western Theater Command is responsible for sending troops to assist the Southern Theater Command when necessary.

To put it more practically, it is actually sending troops to the Southern Subcontinent.

The main thing is that two-thirds of the main forces in the Southern Theater Command, that is, two of the three Class A standing divisions, were deployed in Austria, which is in the southwest east-west. If a war suddenly broke out in the southern subcontinent, even if the Imperial Navy goes all out, it is impossible to quickly send the two full-fledged main divisions to the battlefield.

Relatively speaking, it is more convenient to draw troops from the adjacent western theater.

In addition, this is even more so in the global war.

If the threat from the Republic of Newland becomes clearer, or if the Republic of Newland will definitely participate in the war, it is impossible to draw troops from the Southern Theater Command.

At this time, the Western Theater Command has to undertake the combat tasks in the direction of the southern subcontinent.

That's why in the past few years, the Western Theater Command has been making a fuss about this issue, hoping to divide the Southern Subcontinent into the jurisdiction of the Western Theater Command.

In this way, the 24th Mass Division deployed in the area will be assigned to the Western Theater Command.

Even though the 24th Mechanical Infantry Division is not the strongest in combat power, after obtaining this division, the Western Theater Command became the only war zone with four Class A standing divisions.

This matter has never been approved at the Army Command, which means that the Northwest War Zone refused to agree.

According to Shi Suliang's intention, if the 24th Mechanical Stage Division is assigned to the Western Theater Command, then a new Class A Standing Division will be added to the Northwest Theater.

Unfortunately, the Imperial Army has no extra organization.

In addition, the budget obtained by the Army cannot add a Class A standing division in peacetime.

If you want to say, the masters of the two houses will definitely not approve the budget for an additional Class A division.

In any case, if a war breaks out on the southern subcontinent and the 5th Land Warrior Division cannot withstand the millions of troops of the Varo Kingdom after rushing for assistance, then it is very likely that the 17th Armored Division will be sent to the emergency, so the 7th Armored Division can only attack Bagh X.

In response, Lu Liaoyuan gave a positive answer.

Even without the support of the 17th Armored Division, the 7th Armored Division can still attack Bagh X.
