The parts processing and production of the fourth and fifth two prototypes of the Turbofan 16 have been fully started, and the processing progress of some parts is relatively fast, such as the first-stage compressor blades.

Because the first-stage compressor blades have some semi-finished blanks, the finishing process can be carried out. In the blade manufacturing workshop, these blades have begun finishing.

On a five-axis linked CNC milling machine, the blades are being processed. There are many semi-finished products in the parts box next to the machine tool, and some of them have completed blade-type CNC milling.

The semi-finished product is a titanium alloy forging, which forged the rough shape of the blade, retained a certain margin, and facilitated finishing. The first finishing process is the CNC milling of the blade, mainly milling the blade type.

The first-stage compressor blades of the turbofan 16 engine are the largest and longest among all these compressor blades. Of course, the largest and longest are just relative. Compared with the fan blades, it is a big deal.

The first-stage compressor blades also use low aspect ratio blades, i.e. wide string blades, because the compressor blades are much smaller than the fan blades, and the compressor blades use integral titanium alloy solid blades.

Compared with the narrow-string blade, it widens the string length, shortens the length of the compressor, improves the ability to resist external damage, fatigue resistance and stall margin. It can also reduce the number of compressor parts and reduce production and manufacturing costs.

This batch of first-stage compressor blades has dozens of pieces. Five-axis linked CNC milling is underway. The production and manufacturing process of compressor blades has been fully verified by process methods and process parameters.

On the work table next to this five-axis linked CNC milling machine, there is a process card for drying orchids instead of a white paper process procedure. This shows that the production and manufacturing process of this compressor blade is mature and generally no major changes will be made. What needs to be done in the future is only to improve the process.

On the machine tool, a compressor blade is being processed, with milky white coolant splashing everywhere, and you can see clearly through the glass safety door.

A high-speed rotating alloy milling cutter is milling at high speed on the blades, and a large number of crushed titanium alloy metal chips are being milled from the blades.

Li Tianfeng happened to be in the blade workshop to check the processing conditions of each part, especially the processing conditions of each part of the turbofan 16 engine. He saw that this five-axis linked CNC milling machine was milling the blades of the first-stage compressor of the turbofan 16 at high speed. Li Tianfeng came over.

At the same time, Li Tianfeng is familiar with the processing process of the compressor blades of the turbofan 16 engine, and the precision forging of titanium alloy blanks. This is considered a semi-finished product. Through CNC milling, the blades are basically formed by high-speed precision grinding of the blade through grinding the wedge-shaped dovehead.

Of course, this is just the main process, and there are many other processes. Starting from the forging of the blank, after more than twenty processes, the beautiful and exquisite compressor blades that fully meet the design requirements are finally processed.

Don’t look at the smooth and easy process now. When the compressor blades were tested and process verification was done, it took a lot of effort. After comparison, improvement, and improvement, the smooth and mature processing technology was now available.

When the process was verified, there were several sets of processing techniques for this kind of blade processing, such as the processing of blade tenons. At the beginning, the broaching and grinding were tested.

Through the experiment, the grinding process of blade tenons is better, the quality is higher, and the efficiency is relatively high, which is why the current blade tenon grinding process is achieved.

The same is true for the processing of leaf shapes. After testing and verifying many process methods, the blade fine forging blank was finally determined. First, it was through high-speed five-axis linkage milling, and then high-speed and high-precision grinding. The processed blades are of the best quality.

Li Tianfeng looked at the blades that had been milled with satisfaction and clicked a little bit. In Li Tianfeng's opinion, the processing quality of the blades is very good, the textures are beautiful and even, and there are no burrs. After being grinded by the blades with high precision and high speed, the blades will be more beautiful and more refined.
