1727 The space fighters fighting for the dominance of the sky

"Even if we design fighter jets that can withstand higher overloads, can our pilots bear it?" Feng Lun's words were like a basin of cold water, which wiped out everyone's passion.

This is a fact that cannot be ignored.

Pilots cannot withstand too high overloads.

The so-called overload is gravity acceleration. Generally, pilots who have been trained for a long time can withstand an overload of 10 g in a short period of time, but this can easily cause physical damage. The United States, the Soviet Union and other countries, due to advanced technology, can withstand no more than 9 g overloads. In this process, the pilots must bear 9 times their own weight at the same time.

The human eyes have an oxygen reserve amount for 3 seconds, while the brain has an oxygen reserve amount for 10 to 12 seconds. When the overload limit that the human body has endured, the pilot will lose his vision after 3 seconds. In 10 to 12 seconds, the pilot will lose consciousness due to overload overload.

When overloading at high magnitudes, the pilot bears several times its own weight, which causes the blood in the body to flow to the lower half of the abdomen and legs due to gravity, which causes hypoxia in the heart and brain.

Although the maneuverability of the J-10 is good, there are actually many shortcomings in this regard. Most of the maneuvering actions, like all international fighters, are maintained at the level of 4~6g overload. According to the design standards of f16, overload reaches 6g for 45 seconds, and overload of 9g for 15 seconds can only be considered the first-class level among the third-generation fighter jets. The domestic J-10 cannot actually achieve it.

Just like the American F-15, the overload duration reaches 100 seconds and occurs repeatedly; although its maximum overload is 7.33g, the overload is frequently exceeded 9g in actual use. This is also the reason why fighter pilots are not allowed to make large and intense maneuvers during the flight of the F-15 fighter, and many performances cannot be fully utilized.

J-10, 6g overload lasts for 38 seconds, 9g overload can only last for ten seconds!

This is a defect. Even if the seat of the fourth-generation American fighter jet is adopted, the pilot has a lying back and his legs are bent and raised. Even if the flight mask is used to inject a large amount of high concentration of oxygen into the pilot's lungs during the large maneuver, it is because China has begun to shift from the laboratory to the development of actual models compared to the United States. In terms of the backwardness of a series of technical measures such as anti-overload cockpit, new anti-duty suits, compensatory vests, anti-duty pressure breathing, and new anti-duty action, it cannot allow the pilot to withstand more overload!

Even if Liu Yijiu has invested in these aspects from the beginning, there is no way.

Americans have been studying since the 1960s. Although there are also domestic sources, the investment is very small.

The Ninth Courtyard spent a lot of money into it, but did not achieve much results.

Feng Lun's current words are a profound reaction to the domestic defects in this regard.

"But now, what limits the maneuverability of fighter jets is no longer the previous aircraft design, but the maximum overload that pilots can withstand and the time for sustained high overload..." Liu Yijiu nodded and agreed with this view, "However, this is not a reason to limit our development of high-altitude and high-speed fighters! Even if our pilots cannot do it, we can develop drones without pilots!"

Liu Yijiu didn't want to waste too much time on this.

If you have any questions, you can come down to discuss it, but there is really no need to argue about this at this meeting.

For the entire Ninth Hospital, this project was originally a controversial project.

The same is true for the Air Force.

Liu Yijiu is insisting on it, so this project can only receive continuous funding in recent years.

Even Feng Lun, who was in charge of research, opposed how could Liu Yijiu feel happy?

"Director Liu, since we have talked about this project now, let's figure it out. I think everyone should have great doubts about this project, and what is the purpose? Although the Ninth Hospital's funds are self-raised, there is also project autonomy." The representative of the back-installation headquarters stopped doing this at this time.

He even used words to block Liu Yijiu's intention to use their own funding and have project autonomy to make excuses.

They didn't say they wanted to cancel the project. The money was made by Liu Yijiu and others, but it also belongs to the country, right? After spending so much money, we don't interfere. At least we have to understand it, right?

"Yes, Director Liu, this project is indeed..." Zhu Houdao is the most clear about the source of the Double Three Project.

This is a targeted all-weather high-altitude and high-speed ground interceptor proposed in the 1960s to deal with the Soviet Tu-22m backfire bomber and the American B-1b supersonic bomber. The initial indicator was the Double 26. Since the project in the 1960s, it has undergone many twists and turns. In the early 1980s, a large number of national projects were disbanded, and Liu Yijiu brought the entire team and the basic research data, and launched a Double 3 project with higher performance indicators.

At that time, the high-altitude highway actually went through many debates.

Liu Yijiu has always forced his opposition. To this day, such debates have reappeared due to project funding issues, and even the project research team has lost confidence after so many years of setbacks. In addition, there is no one country in the world that is studying this type of fighter jet, so it is conceivable how big the blow to researchers will be.

Whether high-altitude high-speed fighter jets are necessary in this era is actually not too much debate, because everyone thinks it is unnecessary.

Even Liu Yijiu thought it was unnecessary. After all, the Tu-22m counterfire strategic bomber is known for its supersonic penetration capability. In the past, the military wanted to be more equipped by the US aircraft carrier fleet. Liu Yijiu also stopped the design of this strategic bomber was outdated.

From the side point of view, Liu Yijiu also believes that the expressway is not of much use.

It is too contradictory to support high-altitude high-speed fighter jet projects now.

He has to give an explanation, right?

"I know, many people think that this project is unnecessary. Because our current technology really cannot support the breakthrough of this project. Why is this project needed? I have said before that in the future, what we need is not only air supremacy, but heaven supremacy. Why did the Soviet Union build an orbital space station? Even if we consume national strength, we have to do it? In the future, once we lose the control of heaven, we are controlled by others everywhere, just like our navy cannot break through the United States blocking our third island chain, it is not that easy to enter the universe... Now it seems that all this is a bit too early. At the beginning, our ancestors of the Diaoyu Islands did not send anyone to guard them, but now the Japanese are making trouble with us with this; the small pond in the South China Sea is obviously ours, and the surrounding small countries are still competing with us... If we don't go up, our future descendants will also encounter our current situation, which may be very far away, and maybe not long in the future..." Liu Yijiu's seriousness and even a little heavy.

This sentence is not original to him.

But in the information he once saw, the chief engineer of Chang'e Engineering answered this when he asked a director of the Ministry of Finance what they had spent countless manpower and material resources to go to the moon. If these funds were used to invest in local infrastructure, how much development would the country bring to the country.

We will not go up the moon now. In the future, the descendants will have occupied everything everywhere.

Don’t say that the universe belongs to all mankind. If you don’t have the technical strength to put on the flag, it’s all from others. Just like the earth now, everyone knows that the earth is the home of the entire human race and the wealth of all mankind. Why are there still the division of low-regions of countries? Why are there still developed and underdeveloped countries?

There are only so many resources. If you want to develop your own country and your own race, there will inevitably be disputes.

Liu Yijiu's words made everyone feel a little heavy.

That's true.

Of course, some people naturally think more about it, "Director Liu, what you are talking about is the aerospace field. In this regard, the Ninth Academy and the aerospace field are working hard. And what we are talking about now is the project of high-altitude high-speed fighter jets."

An old man from the back-mounted headquarters questioned Liu Yijiu.

Many people realized that Liu Yijiu was changing the concept.

"I don't think this project has nothing to do with the future control of Tianquan." Liu Yijiu sighed. Not everyone is like him, with hundreds of years of development experience to learn from.

No matter how wise a person is, he may be confused.

"What we need is the means to flexibly and quickly enter the suborbital space, and even the ability to fight outside the suborbital space. It can be said that the double three project is just a foundation. Only by solving the altitude of 30,000 meters and the speed of 3 Mach, can we challenge the altitude of 40,000 meters or even higher; challenge the speed of 4 Mach or even Mach 6..." This is indeed a basic project, Liu Yijiu said before.

Feng Lun, who was in charge of this project, looked worried, "Materials, power systems, overall aerodynamic layout design, etc. are all difficult..."

It’s not that he has the ambition to others to destroy his own might.

But the project has been developing for so many years.

What restricts them from making adjustments to higher, faster and farther is the overall technical level.

"In terms of materials, we have a solution, and as for the power system, there are also solutions. The most difficult thing to solve in these two is not the problem, but the rest is the design aspect." Liu Yijiu looked at Feng Lun. He originally did not intend to say something here, but there were too many people and it was easy to leak.

It’s not that Liu Yijiu doesn’t believe the awareness of the people here, but that they are afraid that sometimes they consider some technologies and materials that are originally in a confidential state when designing, so that more people can know and eventually lead to leaks.

"The material was solved? The power system was also solved?" Feng Lun knew clearly that the Jiuyuan had an amazing material such as graphene in his hands. Liu Yijiu said that the solution would definitely solve the industrial production.

He really couldn't understand the solution to the power system. They were studying related power system designs themselves.

"Yes, in terms of materials, you should be clear that as for the power system, we have made key breakthroughs in the design experiment of scramjet engines..." Liu Yijiu did not explain too much about this.

Super scramjet engine, this is a world-wide super-difficulty technical project.

At first, we considered that when used in the aerospace field, after the rocket entered outer space, it had no oxygen, so that half of the rocket's launch weight needed to carry liquid oxygen or other oxidants to ensure combustion. The ram engine project does not need to carry oxidants. The engine of the aircraft absorbs oxygen during flight, which greatly reduces the weight of the spacecraft. Similarly, it also means that the same amount of propellant is consumed, and the ram engine can generate several times the thrust.

The Soviet Union and the United States had already begun researching in the 1960s. The Soviets even used this engine on their missiles. Sunburn, an anti-ship missile that made Americans unable to sleep, had the technology of this engine and could produce faster speeds than ordinary missiles.

"What is a scramjet engine?" Military personnel are very unfamiliar with this term.

Liu Yijiu asked Feng Lun to explain directly.

Feng Lun roughly explained what a scramjet engine is, and then said with surprise, "If there is a breakthrough in technology in this area, our double three project will no longer be difficult, and the only thing to consider is the design problem. After so many years of preparation, there are already alternative solutions."

Solve materials and power systems, even if the internal avionics and other designs are a little worse, the technical indicators formulated previously can be completed.

Liu Yijiu said that this is the foundation, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Only by designing a twin-three fighter jet can we consider designing a twin-four or even higher performance high-speed fighter jet. To obtain a longer range, the body must be made larger, and the higher the overload the fighter needs to withstand, which is a higher challenge for design.

Now, Feng Lun has the confidence to complete this project.

"At present, we have mature design drawings, and we only need to produce full-size samples for ground tests. The project is not far from being successful." Liu Yijiu did not explain too much, and Feng Lun did not argue with him again.

However, Feng Lun already knew that what Liu Yijiu wanted was definitely not just a double three-way fighter.

The fighter jet with only a double-three index does not need a scramjet engine at all. The only thing that is confused is that Feng Lun is not sure which project team is conducting research in this area and has made a breakthrough silently.

Liu Yijiu took over the J-9 project with the double 26 indicators, but now it has been completely unrecognizable. This is no longer a high-altitude and high-speed key defense interceptor, but an aerospace fighter!
