Volume 4 Arms Empire Chapter 32 The Gap

The army chose to launch the first phase of the strike during the day, which is not only a tactical "innovation" military high confidence.

The result of "confidence" is often not much better. In the first phase of the bombing, the US military lost 8 combat aircraft, 2 of which were the main fighter jets. Although among the one pilot shot down, except for the three killed, the other seven were rescued by the US special forces, the "tragic" losses still made the US military "unbearable".

The temporary termination of the bombing does not mean that the US military has given up its crackdown.

Starting from 15:15, the US military began to use cruise missiles and unmanned fighter jets to attack tactical military targets in Iran.

The naval fleets were mainly involved in the attack.

Before 17:30, two cruisers and destroyers in the six aircraft carrier battle groups cruising in the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf successively launched 377 Tomahawk D-type cruise missiles at military targets in Iran. According to the results announced by the US military, the hit rate of the Tomahawk series cruise missiles exceeded 97%. The actual situation is far from so ideal. Among the results announced by Iran, at least the Tomahawks were shot down by the air defense system, 1 Tomahawks fell due to a failure, and another 17 Tomahawks failed to hit the target. The combat efficiency of the Tomahawks was only.

Although 80% of combat efficiency is also ideal, it is significantly worse than the US military's claimed results.

In the afternoon of that day, the most eye-catching destroyer "Zumwalter".

In addition to continuing to pour 155mm long-range shells into the Iranian anti-ship missile launch positions near the Port of Abbas, the Zumwalter also launched several "Quick Eagle" hypersonic land-attack missiles at several important strategic targets in Iran at around 16:1.

The United States has not announced the relevant results.

Until the end of the war, it was unclear whether the United States used the world's first flight speed to Mach 8 in the war and the range exceeded 1c00 kilometers against hypersonic missiles.

The "Fast Eagle" is a ground cruise missile used by the United States to replace the "Tomahawk".

At the beginning of the design, the US military put forward very high performance requirements, namely, the cruise flight speed is Mach 8 and the range must not be less than 800 kilometers. Because the requirements are too large, the relevant technology reserves are insufficient. The development progress has always been unsatisfactory. Therefore, the service time has not only been delayed from 2012 to 20166, but it has also been almost "cut" several times.

During the Fourth India-Pakistan War in 2c15, the Republican team demonstrated a strong strike capability to make the United States determined to speed up the development of the "Quick Eagle". It played a decisive role in the birth of the "Quick Eagle". In 2016, the "Quick Eagle" conducted 11 flight tests, with only 7 successes. The last 5 tests failed 3 times! According to the plan, the "Quick Eagle" will conduct 13 flight tests in 20177. The fastest can only be mass-produced by the end of 20177.

The rush to use the "Quick Eagle" in the war is enough to prove that the US military is in a very embarrassing situation.

According to the information obtained by the Military Intelligence Bureau, the "Zumwalter" launched 6 "Quick Eagles" to attack a very important strategic target in the mainland of Iran. One was located in Iran's National Television Station in Tehran. One was located in the southwest region of Koramabad. One was located in the Southern Regional Command of the Revolutionary Guards in Shiraz.

These three goals are not only protected by long-range air defense systems, but also intensively deployed medium and short-range air defense systems around them.

During the earlier bombing, the F-35 was shot down by the "Red Flag 11" air defense missile on its way to bomb the state television station. Later, the US military also used the "Tomahawk" cruise missile to attack these three targets. The result was not only unsatisfactory, but also attracted the attention of Iran.

If you continue to bomb with fighter jets, you will definitely pay a greater price.

Continue to use the Tomahawk cruise missile for attack, the results will not be much better.

It will take several hours until the "Aerospace Expeditionary Force" is dispatched again, and these three goals are the most important strategic strike targets and must be destroyed as soon as possible.

Without any choice, the United States can only use the "Quick Eagle".

The military intelligence agency agents found some fragmented shrapnel in the ruins of Iran's state television station, and finally made the military intelligence agency confirm that the US military used the "Quick Eagle" in the war.

The attack effect is not bad, nor is it ideal.

Among the three targets, the state TV station was completely destroyed, the Southwest Air Defense Command Center lost its combat command capabilities, and the Revolutionary Guards Southern Regional Command was not greatly affected.

At around 16 pm that day, the US military dispatched drones to bomb a unmanned area in the southeast of the Southern Regional Command of the Revolutionary Guards, proving that at least one "Quick Eagle" crashed due to a fault at the end of the attack or was shot down by Iran's air defense system.

Before dark, the most commonly used U.S. military was drone attack aircraft.

On the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, drones such as "Preaters" carrying ground-attack missiles and bombs played a great role and were ideal weapons to deal with small groups of enemies and launch surprise attacks. However, in large-scale wars, the value of drones has always been doubted.

First of all, the drone's ammunition capacity is very limited and there is not much ammunition that can be used. Secondly, the drone needs to be guided by a ground control station. If communication is disturbed, the combat effectiveness will be seriously affected. Finally,

Although the survivability of the aircraft is much lower than that of manned fighter jets, it has a low altitude, slow flight speed, single route, and no way to talk about maneuverability. As long as it is discovered and attacked, its survivability is far less than that of manned fighter jets.

The ability of drones to show off their power in Iraq and Afghanistan is mainly because the enemy does not have effective means of air combat. The Iranian army is not Iraq's top armed forces, nor is it the Taliban in Afghanistan. Not only does it have effective means of air combat, but its combat capabilities will not be much worse.

According to the results released by the US military, at least six drones were "missed" over Iran that day.

The result of Iran's war was that by 18:30, the air defense forces shot down a total of 22 U.S. drones. Although it was later confirmed that several of the results were cruise missiles launched by the U.S. military, the drones shot down must be above 1c.

The successive setbacks have become the key reason why the US military has once again used the "Aerospace Expeditionary Force".

On the surface, the Iranian army performed very well, but in fact, Iran suffered huge losses.

Within the first half hour, not only did the National Land Air Defense Command Center be destroyed, but at least 6 regional air defense command centers were also lost. Seven air defense missile positions were destroyed, 1 long-range air defense system was completely destroyed, 6 air bases were bombed, hundreds of combat aircraft were bombed on the ground, shore defense missile positions were bombed, 12 shore-based anti-ship missile battalions were devastating, and long-range early warning radar was bombed. In the following battle, about 20 medium-range air defense missile systems were bombed by the US military.

The only thing that is thankful is that several early warning aircraft in Iran have been transferred to safe areas before the war broke out.

It was nothing to suffer a sudden blow and the loss of some weapons and equipment. What is incredible is that Iran actually adopted a very stupid tactic after the outbreak of the war.

After 16 o'clock, the Iranian Air Force dispatched three squadrons of fighter jets to attack and enter the battle group of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.

Before Iranian fighter jets left the country, they were discovered by e-3s and e-2s hovering over the Persian Gulf. Within just 5 minutes, not only the Nimitz sent 12f/a-18f air-busting fighter jets, but the adjacent Stannis also sent 12f/a-18f fighter jets, and the US Air Force sent 12f-15c fighter jets, and a total of 36 air defense fighters were invested.

What’s even more sad is that Iran did not send early warning aircraft to provide support for the attack aircraft fleet!

The air battle ended without any suspense. The 1c j-10i and 2 squadrons of the ground fc-1 were unable to pose a threat to the Nimitz and were intercepted before entering the Persian Gulf. In the end, only the j-10i and 7 FC-11s escaped the attack, and the US military was not at all hurt!

At the same time, the Iranian Air Force also took the initiative to compete with the US military for air supremacy.

By 17:30, the Iranian Air Force lost a total of combat aircraft, including the fight group of aircraft carriers, including the attack on the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. Except for three being shot down by long-range air defense missiles at the launch site of the US Navy destroyer, the rest were shot down by US air-control fighters and all were shot down by medium-range air-to-air missiles.

Including the fighter jets destroyed on the ground, Iran lost nearly 200 fighter jets in a few hours after the war started.

Although the Iranian Air Force has a total of C combat aircraft, after the war started, the first ones to be put into combat were the "front-line troops", and most of the losses were advanced fighter jets just introduced from the Republic and Russia. In addition to losing a large number of advanced fighter jets, the Iranian Air Force also lost dozens of outstanding pilots.

With the overall combat capability far inferior to that of the US military and local governments, no matter how many fighter jets Iran has, it will be useless.

This is the gap between the "regional power" and the "world power". Although Iran has the most powerful military power in the Middle East, Iran's strength is nothing in front of the most powerful US military in the world. Modern wars are not a few advanced weapons, but the combat effectiveness of the entire military system. Under this circumstance, Iran cannot compete with the US military with several imported advanced fighter jets.

By the time night falls, less than 20 long-range air defense missile systems and approximately medium- and short-range air defense missile systems can be used to defend airspace. This amount of power is only enough for air defense in key areas such as the capital.

It can be seen from this that the US military is only having small troubles, while Iran is having big troubles.

In the words of Western media, what Iran can count on is "high fighting spirit and morale".

At around 15 pm that day, the highest spiritual leader of Iran made a speech on TV (it was later confirmed to be a recorded video), calling on all Iranian people to join the jihad to defend their motherland and jointly fight against the invading powerful enemies; calling on Islam all over the world to attack the enemy in the most direct, intense and threatening ways.

For Iran, the fighting spirit of aspiring to win is undoubtedly the most important spiritual pillar.

As night falls, Iran will face the test of blood and fire again.
