Chapter Five Hundred and Sixtieth Inexplicable Intimacy

Empress Changsun said: "You'er, with the matter of Li Yuanji, this matter has become very complicated. This matter is too big. It is very difficult to make your father accept this matter first. Secondly, how to prove that Gu Ruoyu is His Majesty's blood must provide evidence that cannot be questioned."

Li You said: "My mother is right. My son will find a way to prove Gu Ruoyu's identity. The reason why my son was killed first and then reported was to see how his father was in his attitude towards her."

Empress Changsun said: "Okay, if your father really likes her, it means they are destined to be together. If you don't like her, it's her life. Let's not force it."

Li You said, "Okay, I've heard from my mother. I've said goodbye."

After Li You left, Empress Changsun sent someone to call Wang De and asked, "How did Your Majesty arrange the new palace maid next to Your Majesty?"

Since Gu Ruoyu came to Li Shimin's side, Wang De knew that this incident would definitely attract the attention of the Empress and the concubines, because they would not want His Majesty to favor a woman again.

At this moment, when he heard Empress Changsun inquiring about this matter, he thought that Empress Changsun was also concerned about this matter. He hurriedly said, "It's nothing. Your Majesty just said that she was by her side and did not say anything else." His meaning was that His Majesty did not mean to favor Gu Ruoyu.

Empress Changsun didn't care whether Wang De misunderstood. She said, "You should tell me the changes in Your Majesty's attitude towards her as soon as possible."

"Yes, I know, I know what to do." Wang De meant that he would not talk too much, and would do things according to Empress Changsun's wishes.

Hanyuan Palace.

Gu Ruoyu's daily work is to serve Li Shimin to wash his face and brush his teeth, serve tea and water, and if necessary, he can help Li Shimin massage, fan and grind ink while writing.

This is the job of a senior palace maid. She is only responsible for these things, and she doesn't have to do other things such as cleaning.

A few days passed, and she served Li Shimin. Li Shimin did not communicate much with her, and she could not see what Li Shimin was thinking. In fact, Li Shimin was observing her secretly. After a while of getting along, Gu Ruoyu's obedience and diligence have won his favor.

After dinner that day, Li Shimin did not sit in the bedroom to read a book. Gu Ruoyu made tea for Li Shimin and was about to quit. Li Shimin called her to stop.

Gu Ruoyu stopped, turned to Li Shimin, and lowered her head slightly to wait for him to ask questions.

Li Shimin put down the book in his hand and said, "Raise your head."

Gu Ruoyu looked at Li Shimin flat and waited silently for him to continue asking questions.

Li Shimin looked at her carefully, his eyes soft and thoughtful. After a long time, he pointed to the chair in front and said, "Sit down."

Gu Ruoyu sat down silently and waited for him to speak.

Li Shimin asked, "Have you read a book?"

Gu Ruoyu said: "I have read some of them. When I was a child, my father saved money and asked someone to teach me how to study."

Li Shimin asked: "What books have you read?"

Gu Ruoyu said: "I learned the novel "Thousand-character essays" and later read the Four Books and Five Classics. Three and four virtues are used to knit women's red, poetry, calligraphy and painting, and a little bit about one or two."

Li Shimin nodded and said, "Have you read the poems of ancient people?"

Gu Ruoyu said: "The Seven Sons of Jian'an (Kong Rong, Chen Lin, Wang Can, Xu Gan, Ruan Yu, Ying Yan, Liu Zhen), Cao Cao, Cao Pi, Cao Zhi, Cai Yan (Cai Wenji); Zhengshi poetry: Ruan Ji, Ji Kang; Western Jin Taikang poetry: Zhang Zai, Zhang Xie, Zhang Kang, 66 Ji, 6 Yun, Pan An), Pan Ni, Zuo Si. Eastern Jin poetry: Tao Yuanming and others have read it."

"Oh, I have read a lot. Whose poem do you like the most?" Li Shimin asked with interest.

"I like Tao Yuanming's pastoral poems." Gu Ruoyu said.

"Read it, listen." Li Shimin said.

Gu Ruoyu chanted softly: "Building a hut is in the human world, but there is no noise from carriages and horses. How can you? My heart is far away and the earth is far away. Picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence, leisurely seeing the southern mountains; the mountain is beautiful day and night, and the birds return together. There is a true meaning in this, and I have forgotten my words if I want to distinguish it."

Gu Ruoyu's voice was crisp and pleasant, and Li Shimin closed his eyes and listened with great pleasure.

Seeing Li Shimin's appearance, Gu Ruoyu continued to chant: "Planting beans at the southern mountain, the grass is abundant, the bean seedlings are sparse. Morning is refreshed to clean up the desolate and return with a hoe. The road is narrow and the grass is long. The dew is hidden in the evening. It is not enough to care about my clothes, but I can make my wishes go uncontradicted."

"Okay." Li Shimin opened his eyes and cheered. I don't know if it was because Tao Yuanming's poems were good, Gu Ruoyu chanted well, or the combination of the two was good, but in short, Li Shimin felt relaxed and happy.

Li Shimin looked at her with appreciation and asked, "Can you interpret the artistic conception in the poem?"

Gu Ruoyu said: "As a representative of pastoral poets, Tao Yuanming insisted on lofty ideals and aspirations in the extremely dark society at that time. His pastoral poetry was full of hatred for the dirty society at that time and his love for the pure pastoral countryside. For example, "Returning to the Garden and Residence" first:

I have no customs at a young age, and I love hills and mountains. I accidentally fall into the dust net and leave for thirty years. The birds are in love with the old forest, and the ponds and fishes think of the old abyss. I open up the wilderness in the south and return to the garden. I have more than ten acres of square houses, eight or nine thatched houses. The elm and willows are shaded, and the peach and plum trees are in front of the hall. I am in a distant village, and smoke is lingering in the ruins. Dogs bark in the deep alleys, chickens crow and mulberry trees are over. The houses are free and free. I have been in the cage for a long time and can return to nature.

The poet focused and meticulously described the pure and beautiful pastoral scenery, and the author's sincere love was revealed between the lines. When the poet had not left his official career, he always felt "tempted by others" and could not calm down. He "looked at the clouds and was ashamed of the high birds, and was ashamed of swimming in the water." But when he was far away from the dirty reality and returned to the pastoral countryside, he felt that he had obtained a home...

Gu Ruoyu's insight came from Gu Wu, who was born into an official family and later fell into the bottom of society. He empathized with Tao Yuanming. When he taught Gu Ruoyu's poems, he naturally passed on his understanding of the poet's poems to her.

Li Shimin was the supreme ruler, and he had different perspectives. Although he did not agree with Tao Yuanming's idea of escaping reality, he could understand Tao Yuanming's yearning. Before the Xuanwu Gate Incident, Li Jiancheng and Li Yuanji were in a dilemma with him everywhere, but Li Yuan favored them. Li Shimin had resonated with Tao Yuanming's feelings in his poems.

As a woman, Gu Ruoyu's yearning for a paradise is in line with the poetic and picturesque feelings of the beautiful women who are transcendent and spiritual.

Li Shimin nodded frequently and expressed his approval of Gu Ruoyu's views.

During this period, Li Shimin observed that Gu Ruoyu's behavior was different from that of ordinary secular women. Her appearance was like a lotus, elegant and refined but full of spiritual energy. Seeing Gu Ruoyu reminded him of a woman lingering in his dreams, and she felt inexplicably close to her.

With this conversation, Li Shimin and Gu Ruoyu gradually became more and more communication. When he was free, he chatted with her from time to time, and the two gradually became familiar with each other.

All this was seen in Wang De's eyes, and he quietly reported to Empress Changsun.
