531 Young Soldier 2

Xu Shizhen's battle group participated in the attack on Pingxingguan on June 15th. Although the geographical location of Pingxingguan was very important, the Qi army still had no casualties in this battle. After conquering Pingxingguan that day, the Qi army in the South Road began to take action separately as planned.

The attack route of Xu Shizhen's troops was changed to march along the Inner Great Wall, attacking the Inner Great Wall Passes such as Beiloukou, Dashikou, and Ruyuekou. The ultimate goal was Yanmen Pass.

The Qi army's attack was very smooth, and Xu Shizhen did not even encounter any obstacles along the way. All the Semi-House Army strongholds encountered along the way surrendered without fighting. Some even opened the door before the Qi army arrived.

The important passes of the inner Great Wall changed hands one after another. Xu Shizhen captured about 2,000 prisoners, most of whom were released according to the previous process, but some soldiers from Jinzhou who thought they were brave enough to take the initiative to follow Xu Shizhen.

Xu Shizhen could not bear too many casualties from his subordinates, so he agreed to follow these soldiers in his previous life. His idea was that if there was danger, these village soldiers who voluntarily surrendered might be able to share some casualties; if the future is still as smooth as before, then those who voluntarily surrendered can also help promote the powerful combat effectiveness of the Qi army.

Therefore, when Xu Shizhen's battle group arrived at Yanmen Pass on June 22, in addition to the five hundred real Qi troops, he also had nearly one thousand two hundred cold weapons auxiliary soldiers who followed him.

The number of auxiliary soldiers who voluntarily surrendered from the enemy-occupied area is more than twice that of the main force, which is probably a small miracle in military history.

Xu Shizhen divided all the village soldiers who followed him into two squadrons, and drew some old non-commissioned officers from his team as squadron leaders.

However, along the way, Xu Shizhen found that the relatively experienced sergeant chiefs were even more popular with the young soldiers who surrendered to the village soldiers.

He asked why while he was having a rest, and the answer he got was quite confusing, but to sum up the question: these young people look more upbeat.

It is no wonder that although most young soldiers were born in poverty, they were all dressed without covering their bodies when they were sent to the military academy, as thin as a sling, with a disheveled head and a dirty face. They could not even tell the difference between men and women at first glance.

But after entering the military academy, after five years of junior military academy and three years of intermediate military academy life, these children have completely changed.

Not to mention being able to eat and wear well every day, military academy students now have dairy products and poultry eggs every day, and can eat at least one meal every three days. If they encounter days of increasing the training volume such as confrontational training, they will also have extra meals.

With sufficient nutritional supplies and physical training, the young soldier shows a kind of tall, strong, healthy and confident that transcends this era.

In the eyes of those newly defected militiamen, young soldiers wearing good-looking military uniforms, singing songs and eating canned meat have become a benchmark for a better life in the future.

The militia naturally hope that their children will become as tall as pine, walking with wind, speaking with cheerful words and healthy faces like these young soldiers in the near future.

This is also the reason why so many rural soldiers are willing to follow Xu Shizhen to fight against other troops.

Xu Shizhen sighed: "If you don't say anything else, at least in attracting others to invest in this, the children's performance is really good."

"They are in the good time." Ding Jie said with a smile: "I was not treated so well at the time in the 'Kids Team'."

"Stop talking about you, the real master of the Xu family has never lived a life of complete meat, fish, eggs and milk before. At most, I eat more fine grains than you."

"So we have to find a way to complete the task as soon as possible so that everyone can live such a good life." Ding Jie put away his hippie smile and spoke in a serious tone: "I just received an enemy situation report from the front team. This generation has enemy cavalry activities."

"Hmm? Enemy cavalry?" Xu Shizhen said in surprise: "Shihou and cavalry? Have you captured prisoners?"

"No, the enemy is very cunning, just riding on the horse and watching from a distance. When our people get closer, they will get into the ravine and disappear." Ding Jie replied: "The correspondent soldier in front of the team said that the enemy does not look like Han people in costumes, and their riding skills are also very good. They suspected that they were Mengwu people, so they remind us to be vigilant."

Upon hearing this, Xu Shizhen looked up at the surrounding terrain.

This generation of mountains is densely covered with steep mountain walls, and there are some paths between the mountains, winding and winding. I don’t know where to go. The surrendered village soldiers said that these paths were originally walked out by people nearby with their feet for years, basically connected to each other, and some are also used to avoid military disasters in the years of war.

If there are people familiar with the terrain in the local area, it will be no problem to hide thousands of people in the valley.

"Can you hide thousands of people?" Xu Shizhen sighed.

If it is a few thousand soldiers of the Marquis, there is no problem. Even if it is a team of servants of the Marquis or a spear master, it may be able to fight alone and have some combat power, but if you really want to fight in a formation, your strength will be nothing but Er.

However, if there are Mengwu people involved, it will be a little different.

It’s not that the herdsmen are naturally stronger in combat power than peasants, but the Mongolian Tatars do not like the young soldiers of Qi like their compatriots in Jin Province.

Although you are not afraid of wolves with a gun in your hand, wolves are always a threat, right?

"Notify and prepare for battle." Xu Shizhen ordered: "Tell the sentry, be vigilant and pay attention to whether there are any enemy cavalry around you."

...

Just in a valley two hills away from Xu Shizhen's battle group, Batu was sitting on the side of the road, listening quietly to the two whistle riders' rewards.

"A team of little boys?" Batu asked in surprise: "You heard it right?"

"No, they are just kids of the dogs." A whistleblower said in a positive tone: "There are five hundred, and one hundred of them look like veterans, the others are kids who have not grown up, and some local auxiliary soldiers."

The Qi army is not easy to mess with, and it is easy to cause problems when the whistle cavalry is too close to each other. However, these two lucky ones found that there were too many rural soldiers in Xu Shizhen's team, so these people were easy to deal with.

The two whistle cavalry each captured a prisoner, and they could find out a lot of information by torture, which did not arouse Xu Shizhen's vigilance.

He thought that these rural soldiers had left the team and returned home again. This situation was normal. After all, they were hard to leave their hometown. Although they were all in Jin Province, for most farmers, even if they were traveling far away, leaving their residence felt like they were walking to the ends of the world.

The Qi army did not restrict these people's freedom of movement at first, so the village soldiers came and went, and new people would join each place and some would withdraw.

"Master, those little kids come out to fight and sing all day long. They all look good, not like ordinary kids."
