Chapter 62 Parker
"So...how long are you going to compete with that fork?" Riven took the time to glance at Eric across the table while dealing with her supper.
Eric has been thinking intently since he sat down and unconsciously fiddling with the fork in his hand, and was not in a good mood.
"Still thinking about basketball? You've performed well." Raven "comfort" and then added intentionally or unintentionally, "Although I lost."
Well, she must have done it on purpose. Eric really wanted to defend himself - what can I do? The one on the opposite side is Spider-Man, with at least twenty tons of arm strength, and the reflex nerve can even avoid bullets. Is this kind of guy who comes to play basketball a foul?
Raven continued to lower her head and had dinner, but the corner of her mouth seemed to be inadvertently smiling. She didn't say it, but she actually prefers to see Eric's reaction after losing, like a child who lost his toy.
The two of them settled for dinner in the restaurant opposite the school. When they came out, a group of people were gathering around, as if they were joining in some fun.
Generally speaking, Eric was not interested in joining in the fun, until he noticed the protagonist of the farce, and Peter Parker, who defeated him on the court not long ago.
"Who do you think you are, Parker!" a burly and tall blonde boy shouted, holding Parker's collar, "Basketball, ha? You nerd?"
"Yes, Thompson." Parker's figure was a little pitiful in front of him, but he was not weak. "The coach asked me if I was willing to join the basketball team because I heard that an idiot on the team was injured and could not participate."
Flash Thompson is a basketball star, but recently he was injured and unable to play because of a fight with someone, so the coach urgently needed someone to take his place. In private, Thompson is still Parker's arch-rival because he always likes to use this nerd as a punching bag.
"Maybe I can't play for the time being, but that's not your turn, Parker! It won't affect my blow to you!"
He was not kidding, and Thompson threw a straight punch and rushed towards Parker's face with a fierce momentum.
Peter Parker, who is Spider-Man, has superb reflex nerves and dynamic vision, and in theory he has countless moments to react and avoid this punch.
But he didn't.
The fist fell firmly on Parker's face, just like every time before.
Eric knew Parker’s thoughts. He was afraid that his identity would be exposed, that someone would find himself Spider-Man, that any obvious change in life would lead to some doubts about "how a nerd can change drastically overnight."
But Eric always felt that he was thinking too much, and his superpowers should not be abused, but earning enough sports credits for himself or ensuring that he is not beaten by bullies is definitely not an exaggeration.
Of course, that was his own choice, nor was Eric the other person he should care about. Besides, he was very sure that Spider-Man would definitely not hurt or itchy when he got a few fists from a high school student, and it was not a big deal.
He was about to turn his head and leave, and Ruiwen asked casually: "Uh, shouldn't you... stop that guy or something?"
Eric paused and said, "Didn't I say I don't like to meddle in other people's business?"
"You said it, but you still care about all the things I've encountered since I met you."
Her face was expressionless but extremely sharp. She deserved to be the queen of the raven, and her mouth was as sharp as the rumors.
"Okay, okay." Eric sighed, "It's not a very troublesome thing anyway..."
While talking, Thompson had already knocked Parker over to the ground with one punch, then raised his other fist and fell sharply, with a bandage wrapped around the back of his hand.
Parker did not dodge, but the punch did not fall.
Thompson's fist was tightly pinched his wrist, as if he was caught by a plier.
"Hey." Eric said, "It should be almost done."
Thompson glared at Eric: "Who are you?"
"This kid's..." Eric glanced at Parker, "Googlemate, you think you've just met me."
"Don't block me." Thompson said quietly, "I'm in a bad mood now."
"What a coincidence." Eric shrugged, "I'm not in a good mood."
Thompson gritted his teeth and smashed the other fist into Eric in front of him without saying a word. But Eric only moved slightly, and his palm slapped along the fist he swung seemed casually. Thompson was immediately staggered by his own force and almost fell down.
Thompson turned his head in surprise. Although he was still angry, his reason stopped his urge to take action again. All parts of his simple brain conveyed a message to him-this guy couldn't win.
He just glared at Eric for a few seconds.
"Go." Thompson spat angrily, "You're lucky, Parker, this matter is not over yet!"
He turned around and drove away the crowd and quickly left.
The farce ended and the crowd gradually dissipated. Parker touched his cheek that had just been beaten and stood up: "Thank you."
"To be honest, you should thank her." Eric glanced at Riven, who was watching the show with his hands around him.
"Peter!"
A blonde girl rushed out of the school gate against the abortion, ignored the others and rushed to Parker.
"I heard that Thompson attacked you again? I warned him..."
"Yes... it's okay, Gwen, I'm fine." Parker smiled, "Thanks for caring."
Gwen?
Only then did Eric look at the girl seriously.
With soft blonde hair, black hairpins, fair skin as white as snow, it can be said that it combines purity and charm, and is the first choice for any boy to choose a female vote.
Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man's girlfriend in the original work...one of them.
Eric raised his eyebrows: "Yes, boy, do you actually have such a beautiful girl vote?"
"What? No, Gwen, she is not..." Parker waved his hand in a hurry, "...she is just my friend."
Eric noticed the obvious loss on Gwen's face when he said this.
As expected, it was the same wood as the legendary one. Eric thought to himself. But when he said that, he really envied this kid's fate with a woman...
But Gwen didn't give up and plucked up the courage to say, "That... today's geometry homework looks a bit difficult, I think maybe we can find some time..."
"Ah, tonight! I have something tonight!" Peter slapped his forehead, "Mary Jian and I are going to the underground mall. I delayed playing basketball in the afternoon, so..."
"Oh! That...is very good." Gwen said in disappointment.
"I'm so sorry... I might as well come together, I know there is a delicious sandwich shop there." He said, turning to Eric and Revan, "It's better you guys to come together, thank you for your help just now."
Eric's mouth twitched.
If I hadn't known that this kid had really low EQ, I would have wanted to beat him up...
But this proposal may not be bad.
