Chapter 43 The trip to Gotham

Gotham, early morning.

Wayne Building, the tallest building in Gotham City. Ask any native Gotham man, they will say that this is the benchmark for the city.

As famous as Stark Industry, Wayne Company is also the leading industry in the country. It was here when the city was just completed two hundred years ago. Alan Wayne, the owner of this company two hundred years ago, said that half of the Gotham City was designed by him. Since then, the Wayne Building has been located here. Alan Wayne has created thirteen guards around it - a group of winged demons, who look down at the city tirelessly all the time, and see all the evil and darkness. During the day, they are responsible for greeting visitors from afar, and the trains passing through the Wayne Building can look at them; at night, they shoulder the responsibility of guarding Gotham, and specifically monitor the uninvited guests in the night sky.

Of course, these are all the ideas of grandfathers. Times have passed, and now it is no longer the same. Thirty years ago, after Thomas Wayne and his wife were shot dead in the famous Crime Alley, their only son Bruce Wayne became the only heir. Thomas Wayne and his wife were devoted to transforming the city, trying to use their financial resources and power to fight against the darkness of the city. But sin was like a curse in Gotham, and eventually devoured the kind people who tried to rise up and resist. After they were shot, Gotham Daily titled "The Last Hope of Gotham fell?"

today.

The elevator on the top floor opened with the "ding" sound, and a large group of people walked out surrounded by a handsome young man in a suit and tie. This was Bruce Wayne, the owner of this huge enterprise today.

"When can we talk about Mr. Carlin's account, Mr. Wayne? You've been pushing this question for a week."

"Soon, write it on my schedule." Bruce said expressionlessly, continuing along the corridor.

His secretary reminded: "The schedule may be available in the afternoon..."

"Not that fast." Bruce interrupted.

"I heard that the Lakes Group and you have a private intention to cooperate?"

"It's not true, we haven't communicated yet."

"Our overseas interest rates have dropped this month, Mr. Wayne. We need..."

"Remember it in my memo and I'll read it later."

Bruce sent off the chattering directors, opened the door, quickly walked into his office, and paused a little.

The young man, who looked just twenty, sat on the chair at the table and saw him coming in and waved friendly.

"Yo, Mr. Wayne...I guess."

It looks taller than in the comics. Eric thought to himself.

"Who are you?" Bruce asked sternly, "What are you doing in my office?"

"Eric Charlotte, just a high school student," he smiled slightly. "I'm here to ask some questions."

He looked mysterious, crossed his hands on the table, leaned forward, and asked, "Have you heard of... Obadai Stein, Mr. Wayne?"

He observed Bruce's facial expression, but unfortunately he could not see any changes. His blue pupils looked like bottomless water, and any psychological activities were buried in the deepest part, making people untouchable.

"I haven't heard of it."

"This guy has been in trouble recently, and there is information that he has something to do with Wayne's business." Eric asked, "Do you know anything, Mr. Wayne?"

"I don't know." Bruce said coldly, "I only know that this is my office, and you have not received permission. If you don't leave within three seconds, I have to 'please' you out."

"Okay, I know." Eric shrugged, "I'll leave now. But... don't forget my words, Mr. Wayne, please pay attention to yourself."

After saying that, he left the office without waiting for the other party's reaction.

A few hours ago, he had just gotten off the plane directly to Gotham, found the hotel and went straight to here after a short rest. Of course, he actually didn't want to ask any answers from Bruce Wayne at all.

In fact, although ASUS is skeptical about whether Bruce Wayne himself involves Obadai Stan's awakening, Eric basically does not doubt what kind of evil forces Bruce Wayne will be. There is no evidence, but the reason is simple - because he is Batman.

So why did he mention such inexplicable attitudes in person?

Assuming that the fact is that without Bruce's knowledge, someone in Wayne's company secretly used company resources to collude with certain forces, then his sudden visit and these inexplicable problems are likely to be heard by the other party, and the guy hiding underwater will definitely take action against him. In other words, Eric is equivalent to provoking the other party.

On the other hand, it is certain that Bruce Wayne himself is Batman. He is the best detective in the world, and his insight is unmatched. Eric believes that if there are really ghosts within Wayne's company, he will definitely be able to discover the problem if he warns Bruce.

All that should be done, so next...

After coming out of Wayne's business gate, Eric stood on the street and looked around.

"Do you look for me?"

It appeared behind him like a ghost at some point. Ruiwen held an ice cream cone with strawberry jam in one hand and handed another to Eric with the other hand.

"Well...thank you." Eric took the cone and took a bite, "Strawberry jam."

"how?"

"Nothing, I thought you were not the type who was interested in ice cream, and it still had such a fashionable taste..."

"Why can't I like it? I still have a band I like."

"What? Which?"

"Well... forget it, just pretend I haven't mentioned it." After Raven said that, he began to concentrate on dealing with her strawberry cone, as if he had made up his mind not to answer this question anymore.

She turned and asked, "So...you went to meet Wayne?"

"uh-huh."

"Did you ask what you want?"

"No."

"What are you going to do next?"

"Next? Let's play." Eric said naturally, "Why are you looking at me with such a strange look? Didn't I just say that I'll come to Gotham to play together?"

Ruiwen was stunned: "I thought...you wanted me to help..."

"No, I'll solve those troubles by myself." Eric smiled. "Do you know, another famous place in Gotham - I heard that its playground is great."
