Chapter 38 Reappearance of the Undead

Brooklyn, underground.

The humid air blew along the vertical and horizontal pipes, and water droplets tickled down at the pipe interface. The cool wind was like a woman's whisper, telling the secret hidden in the darkness ahead.

Tony and Eric advanced along the wall on one side, surrounded by deep darkness in all directions, as if countless demons were waiting for an opportunity. Fortunately, both of them had night vision capabilities in their armor, and darkness was not a big problem, but the atmosphere was so cold that it made people uncomfortable.

"Are you sure a mysterious villain behind the scenes would hide in this place?" Eric looked around and said, "It's more like a hiding place like me who would choose when I was desperate."

"Reverse positioning shows that the server terminal is here," Tony said, "and it is not as simple as it looks. Although it is well hidden, my armor still scans the heat source reaction in front of me, and the number should be quite large."

After walking a few more steps, he stopped and began to look around slowly.

"If Jarvis is not wrong - he rarely makes mistakes, we should be looking for here."

As the words fell, Iron Man's right arm was raised, and a repulsive beam of light roared out from his palm and penetrated the stone wall.

It turned out that the back of this floor was hollow, and this gun directly penetrated into an extremely open hemispherical building. The space as big as two football fields was extremely empty, and the inner wall was surrounded by circles of circular aisles.

"It seems that the real owner has been found." Eric whispered.

Tony shouted: "Don't you turn on the lights when the guests come? Izikiel?"

"Sir, scan revealed that there was no life reaction inside," Jarvis reminded.

"So, isn't you at home?" Tony murmured.

As if in response to him, the moment he finished speaking, the white light suddenly lit up. The darkness was suddenly dispersed, and the entire space was instantly occupied by incandescent light, making people dizzy.

Several projection devices attached to the inner wall were activated. They turned around slowly like electronic cameras and projected a three-dimensional bald old man in the center. He was dragging a handful of white beards on his chin and his eyes were full of cunning light.

Both of them recognized it at a glance, and that was Obadai Stein.

"Long time no see, Tony." The image spoke, and even grinned. The lingering evil and hatred filled with the smile were simply vivid.

After a pause, he added: "Oh, it's not long for you, but it's long enough for me. After all, the last time I met... you killed me."

Tony could hear that this was indeed Obadai's voice.

"What are you playing, Izikiel?" Tony asked, "want to make me feel guilty for killing your father in this way?"

"You doubt my son, I think it must be because I borrowed his name to preserve important things," Obadai said, "but I can assure you that I am me."

"Impossible." Tony made a decisive move. "I watched Obadai die before me with my own eyes."

"Or...it may not be him, it's just consciousness." Eric suddenly speculated, "Obadai Stein is indeed dead, but before that he backed up his memory and created this virtual personality."

This is not without precedent, there are similar plot designs in movies and comics.

Tony said: "It's impossible, this old man doesn't have such technology."

Obadai laughed: "As always arrogant, Tony always feels that he is at the forefront of the times. But the fact is that although you can't do it, someone has done it. Someone has downloaded my consciousness and made me what I am today. I admit that when I was defeated by you, I was very unwilling to accept it, and my anger towards you has accumulated to an unprecedented level. But now, I must thank you - it was because you defeated me that I have freed myself from the decaying body of human beings and gained immortality."

"Eternal Life? Are you referring to this state of dying?" Eric shouted, "I don't care if you are crazy. I just need you to answer one question - who turned you into this? Who robbed the Iron Overlord's armor?"

Obadai glanced at him and chuckled.

"It's okay to tell you, but..."

The old man's face projected by this old man suddenly changed its style, like a scheming ambitious man who turned into a hungry beast in an instant.

"That's meaningless, because you will be wiped out soon!"

Obadai's face disappeared, and the floor tiles reflected in the center of the white light cracked a round gap. The huge black armor stood on the platform and slowly rose, and it was the Iron Overlord. At this moment, the dazzling white light poured on the Iron Overlord's armor, and the two of them could see clearly that its appearance had also changed slightly. The forearm seemed to be equipped with a pipe for conveying energy, and the thick waist and shoulders were equipped with parts that were obviously different from the original style.

"I beat you once," Iron Man shouted with his hands raised, "You can do it again!"

The repulsive beam roared out, and the white energy beam went towards him. However, just the moment before the beam hit the target, the system on the Iron Overlord's waist and shoulders seemed to automatically sense danger and was activated. A layer of faint dark green shield formed in front of him, blocking the aggressive repulsive beam.

"What?" Tony said in surprise, "Jarvis, analyze that shield."

Obadai laughed: "I admit that you are very creative about Iron Man's design, but you are too arrogant. Tony, I think you have the best technology in the world. But in fact, there are many advanced technologies you can't imagine. I used their technology to upgrade my armor. Now my armor is better than you in all aspects!"

The Iron King raised his huge fists, and the dark green energy was quickly filled with energy delivery tubes installed on his arms. The black iron fist seemed to ignite a dark flame.

It was like a stream of water pouring out, and the vast energy rushed to the scene with a loud cry. Eric rushed away sideways, and Tony also sprayed the engine in the opposite direction. The beam of light shot in the air penetrated into the stone wall where the two came from like a giant python. After the flying dust, a high hole for two people was left.

Energy beam, which is also a technology that the original version of Iron Overlord did not have, and it is powerful.

"Energy cannot be cracked, and I have never seen similar technology." Jarvis responded.

Tony looked solemn and asked, "Who has promoted you, Obadai?"
