Chapter 27 Listen to Senior Brother
The supreme monk recited Amitabha Buddha with great silence and shook his head and said, "The monks have six senses of tranquility, abstain from gambling, sex, and killing. I will not bet with Senior Brother Wang, Amitabha Buddha, how good it is!"
The best attitude is firm and unwilling to learn bad things from Wang Anran. It is wrong for monks to participate in gambling.
Tubao also said, "Young Master, don't bet either. The lady said that it's a prodigal son who gambles badly. If you gamble, the lady will be unhappy, and the master will be unhappy."
Wang Anran nodded and said, "It's reasonable, we shouldn't bet, it's too sad to have feelings." It seems that we can only say something different. After thinking about it, Zhishan called him Senior Brother Wang just now. Since the relationship is involved, it would be stupid if we don't use it for a while.
He said, "Junior brother, my mother took me to the temple to burn incense and worship Buddha. I once saw your master and was inspired by him. I have a good impression of Jinguang Temple. Today I am revisiting the old place, but I feel sad when I see the temple so decayed, and I feel so sad!"
When Zhishan heard him say the first half of the sentence, he showed joy on his face. Since Senior Brother Wang was inspired by his master, does that mean that Senior Brother Wang is going to become a monk in the temple? But when he heard the second half of the sentence, the joy on his face instantly disappeared and turned into sadness. He felt deeply sorry for his master. If he hadn't had the ability, the temple would not have been defeated like this.
I heard Wang Anran say again: "In order to promote Buddhism, and to repay your master's influence on me back then, I decided to help Jinguang Temple regain its prosperity back then!"
Zhishan was very happy and moved. He hurriedly said, "Thank you, Senior Brother Wang. You are going to prepare for the orphans, and you are going to orphans for the senior brother."
"Wait, I haven't finished speaking yet!" Wang Anran looked embarrassed and looked like he was struggling violently. He said, "But I am a busy person. There are too many people asking me to do things every day. Recently, I have something to do with the governor's office and have something to do with the generals in the army. The people of Chengguan Village cannot leave me for a moment. Many Ding Zhuang are still waiting for me to arrange tasks for them. I want to solve the problem of food rations for them. Oh, I'm too busy, so what's happening in this temple..." Speaking of this, he stopped talking, just shook his head, but stopped talking.
Zhishan was shocked. Senior Brother Gan Qing'er was so amazing that he had such great ability and so many things waiting for him to do. Even the affairs of the governor's mansion and the army depended on him. He was obviously a big shot with all his eyes!
He said, "Senior Brother, what you said is true. Even the affairs in the governor's mansion need to be worked on, so you can do it?"
"That's natural. Without my signature, things can't be done!" Wang Anran said solemnly: "In front of Buddha, don't tell lies. Besides, why am I lying to you? What else do you have to cheat me?"
Zhishan nodded quickly and said that he had nothing to be deceived by Senior Brother Wang. He never told lies or said vague words, which could make people misunderstand, so he naturally thought that others would not do this, but he did not expect that Wang Anran would speak vaguely and deliberately misunderstand him. He had never even heard of such a profound social language, and he could not distinguish it even more.
In fact, Wang Anran did not lie to him. Of course he and the governor's mansion had something to do. Then the land deeds and house deeds of the inn were all things. If the inn was changed to his name, it would not be changed if he did not sign it. He also had something to do in the army, and a group of officers and soldiers collected debts for him like wolves and tigers. Of course it was a matter; he was the captain of Ding Zhuang of Chengguan Village and four strong men under his command. That was also a matter.
To put it another way, that's it!
Zhishan asked worriedly: "Senior Brother, you have to take time to do things in the temple. Please give me everything to my senior brother!" As soon as he was anxious, he suddenly got closer. Brother Wang stopped calling him, and called him the senior brother directly.
Wang Anran sighed and said, "You are begging me. Alas, I'm so embarrassed. I'll agree to you, or not!"
"Agree, promise, senior brother, must agree, junior brother and nephew salute you, please help us to restore the prosperity of the past!" As he said, Zhishan pulled Zhiran over and saluted Wang Anran together, with sincere faces, fearing that Wang Anran would not agree.
Wang Anran was silent, silent, and then pretended to be deep, then looked deep, and then you were too embarrassed to me!
Tubao shook his two small braids, looked at Zhishan, looked at Mingran, and finally looked at Wang Anran. He didn't understand why the young master said a few words casually, and these two monks were going to salute him?
After a while, Wang Anran sighed and said, "Well, for your pleading, I can only help you once. But, if you want to listen to me in the future, you will have to do whatever I ask you to do. I am all for the good of the temple, do you understand?"
Zhishan hurriedly said, "Everything is decided by the senior brother!"
Wang Anran pointed to the Buddha statue and said, "Swear to the Buddha!"
Zhishanhe and Zhiran are monks. What to ensure is that there is no need to establish a document. For them, the highest oath is a vow made in front of the Buddha, and they would rather die than repent. They knelt in front of the Buddha statue and made a vow for the future of the temple.
Wang Anran sat on the side and looked at them, feeling funny. If Zhishan agreed to make a bet with him just now, at least half of the chances would be able to win. At that time, Zhishan could only make a more flexible mind and put forward conditions on himself. He proposed a fair bet, but he refused to bet. He changed his opinion and saw that he begged him. He had fully opened his conditions and he had completely become a younger brother and dragged down his younger disciple.
After making the vow, Zhishan looked at Wang Anran. Seeing Wang Anran smiling and confident expression, it seemed that everything in the world was in my control. He couldn't help but think: "From the expression of his senior brother, the prosperity of this temple is just around the corner!"
When Daran looked at the master, he saw that there was a smile on his face, he couldn't help but think: "From the master's expression, we won't have to live a hard life in the future!"
Tubao looked at them, then looked at Wang Anran, thinking: "From their expressions - it's time to start a meal!"
Wang Anran asked Zhishan and Leran to sit close to him and said, "What kind of glory has been there for the history of Jinguang Temple? Tell me about the details, the better. In this way, I can make a plan and revitalize the temple as soon as possible."
When talking about the glorious history of this temple, Zhishan immediately became more talkative and his mouth became instantly more flexible. It was obvious that he was very proud of the history of Jinguang Temple and explained it in detail to Wang Anran.
A long time ago, Jinguang Temple was just a very small temple with only one monk inside, with the name Xuanku, which is the master of the Supreme Being. Because the temple was very small and there was almost no incense, Xuanku closed the small temple, traveled westward, and became an ascetic monk, hoping to improve his practice.
After traveling west for a few years, he returned to Liangzhou. At this time, he met another monk who brought a lot of luggage and returned from India. This monk was amazing. Although his Dharma name was only one word from Xuan, his name was Xuanzang, and he was a famous monk who was enlightened.
After hearing Xuanzang's experience of going to the West, Xuanku admired him very much, so he volunteered to serve Xuanzang, leading his horse to Xuanzang, serving his daily life, and serving Xuanzang meticulously. Xuanzang was very moved and took him back to Chang'an. When they returned to Chang'an, countless Chang'an people went out of the city to welcome him. Xuanzang received the highest courtesy of his disciples at that time. Xuanku also borrowed light, and he lived in Chang'an from then on.
It was not until Xuanzang passed away that Xuanku returned to Liangzhou. Because he served Xuanzang, the people of Liangzhou respected him very much, and rebuilt the temple for him and built the current Golden Light Temple, which became the largest temple in Liangzhou.
Because of Xuanzang's influence, Xuanku was extremely pious to Buddhism. He believed that the most important thing for a good Buddhist student was to serve the Buddha with piousness, and everything else was second. Therefore, he did not like those disciples who were keen on the sensible, but liked to be honest, and could even be said to be a bit dull and honest. He taught almost all the abilities, including martial arts, to Zhishan. Before his death, he appointed Zhishan as the next presidency of this temple.
Regarding the matter after Zhishan became the host, this is what he is now. He studied Buddhism carefully, but he could not keep the monks in the temple. He was very skilled in martial arts, but he didn't even dare to argue if his disciples were beaten. He was a good monk and could get the most good monk cards, but he was not a good host.
After hearing what Zhishan said about the history of Jinguang Temple, Wang Anran was very surprised. He said that Jinguang Temple is very famous. The old host is even more famous. He is actually related to Tang Xuanzang. The old host also led a horse to Tang Xuanzang. Will Zhu Bajie in "Journey to the West" be written based on him in the future?
Unable to bear the curiosity, he asked, "Is the old host very greedy? Has he been to Gaolaozhuang? Is there Gaolaozhuang in Liangzhou?"
Zhishan was stunned, thought for a while, and said, "The master is not greedy. I don't know why my senior brother asked this question. As for Gao Laozhuang, the master once said that when he was young, he had indeed made a marriage with a family in Gao Laozhuang when he was not a monk. However, he took it as his own responsibility to save all sentient beings, so he abandoned the Miss Gao family and became a monk. Such a big idea really made us practitioners admire him. As for where Gao Laozhuang is, I have never heard from the master, and it seems that he is not in Liangzhou."
Wang Anran said, "Okay, after you said this, I will have a plan to revive this temple. I will do the specific things. If someone asks you something, just say Amitabha Buddha, good, good, no extra words can be said. You can just make a vow to listen to me. If you don't listen to me, you will betray the Buddha, you will be sorry to your master, and you will be sorry to Master Xuanzang, your sins will be too serious!"
"Sincerely sinful? This...this, I wonder what the senior brother's plan is?" Zhishan was a little worried. Although he was not good at dealing with people, he had a vague feeling that he seemed to have been fooled by his senior brother, but his oath had been made and he could not regret it.
Wang Anran smiled and said, "I will send someone to promote it, saying that you found the master's relics in the temple. This relics are treasures given to him by Master Xuanzang. They can bless pregnant women to give birth to only boys and not girls."
Zhishan was shocked and shouted, "No, no, isn't this a lie? Junior brother, I will never lie!"
Wang Anran patted his shoulder and smiled and said, "I didn't let you lie. Didn't I tell you? No matter what others ask you, just say Amitabha Buddha, good, good, how can you say this be considered a lie? But if you don't listen to me, then you just lie to the Buddha, and you will be seriously sinful."
Zhixiang was stunned, confused, and at a loss. He only felt that his senior brother was too profound and proficient in debate. No matter what he said, he was right, and the ones who were seriously guilty were others!
