16. Difficult Decisions (Part 1)(2/2)
"Pearce, even if I am willing to obey your arrangements and hand over the work with Merlin, it will take a long time for the director of SHIELD to complete the alternation of power."
"So you guys should do it as soon as possible."
Pierce stood up, he shook his waist, and he said to Fury:
"When I can help you with something, hurry up and finish it. Okay, I'm leaving now, you can keep busy."
"Um."
Fury got up and wanted to give Pierce away, but just as the office door opened, Fury's assistant Agent Hill happened to walk towards the director's office with a stack of documents in his arms.
When Pierce passed by, he saw the name on the cover of the document.
Allabray, umbrella
These keywords made Pierce's eyes squint.
The old man suddenly reached out and patted his forehead, as if he had forgotten something important. He turned around and said to Fury:
"Ah, I'm really old and there's something else. I want to tell you, it won't disturb your work, right?"
"No, no."
Fury didn't notice anything, and he and Pierce returned to the office, and Agent Hill placed the documents on the director's desk, turned around and left.
Two more old men were left in the office.
"A few days ago, the Central Park incident, that out of control monster"
Pierce sat on the couch, watching Fury pick up the papers, he said:
"How was the investigation result of that matter?"
"Why did you suddenly care about this?"
Fury asked casually while looking at the documents related to the Umbrella Company:
"I thought you would care about something higher."
"I don't want it either. Fury, I'm an old man. I have limited energy, but there are always some things you can't avoid."
Pierce sighed and said:
"The Sky Eye will be seriously injured in that operation. They had a commando that was almost wiped out. You know that organization was directly obeying the White House."
"So some old friends beat me the lawsuit. They said that SHIELD's combat units hindered the commando's operations, causing serious damage to elite soldiers."
"I personally don't believe this, but I still have to understand the situation."
"Hmph! They still have the face to mention this!"
Fury's expression became cold, and he said to Pierce:
"It is true that our agents stopped the Sky Eye Commando from operating, but the reason is that those guys are disregarding their lives!"
"Our investigation into that matter is over."
"More than 15 witnesses saw the entire process of the commando of the Sky Eye Society shooting at innocent people. I know that the commando on the Sky Eye Society is very diverse, but I am bluntly speaking, they are really dead."
"Our agents saved at least 27 innocent people in that critical moment, and he is the real hero!"
"Oh? Is that true?"
Pierce didn't care about the truth about this matter at all. Speaking of this matter, he just asked again:
"Then what's the truth about this matter?"
"I heard that it was the remnants of Abstergo who were developing some damn illegal biological projects? Why are these bastards just restless?"
"Fry, you have to spend some effort on this aspect, so that those ambitious people can have the opportunity to play."
“We’ve been working hard, Pierce.”
Fury said helplessly:
"There are many projects that we have blocked over the years for illegal biological experiments, but people driven by profits or ambitions have always existed."
"The bio-fortification program has been a very popular trend since the birth of Captain America and is normal to continue to ban it."
"What's more, this is not as simple as you think, Pierce."
Fury said:
"The news you got was fake, and it wasn't done by Abstergo's people."
"Um?"
Pierce's eyes widened and showed a puzzled expression, he said:
"Not them? Who is that?"
"Sorry, I can't tell you, Pierce."
Fury showed an apology and said to Pierce:
"I can't just talk nonsense until things are concluded, but if you do care about it, then after that, I'll hand you a report of the investigation."
"Uh, it's okay, it's okay."
Pierce waved his hand quickly and said with a smile:
"It's me that I was abrupt. Look at me, I used to be an agent, but now I have forgotten the confidentiality regulations."
"I shouldn't ask about these things."
The old man stood up and said to Fury:
"Since the truth of the matter has been found out, I'll leave first. You can continue to work hard. Don't forget to send a copy of the investigation records of those bastards who are careless to the White House."
"Block their mouths and don't let them bother me, the old man again."
"Oh, by the way, I have a new idea about the 'insight plan' and maybe make up for it."
"Pearce"
Fury stood up and sent Pierce to the office door. He interrupted the old man helplessly, and he said to his old boss:
"We've talked about this topic a lot, and I know you appreciate the idea and effect of the Insight Plan. You've always wanted to advance it, but Merlin and I think the plan is lacking."
“We have many better ways to protect order, just look at the kind of serious flaws in the program.”
"Um."
Pierce nodded silently, a light flashed in his eyes, and he said with regret:
Chapter completed!
