10. Response plan A(1/2)

"Just just now, b shared with me the news of alien life invading the earth. If I remember correctly, it happened to be where you went with those Iron Man."

As soon as Merlin returned to New York, Icarus received a message from Fury. The director seemed to be in a place similar to a safe house, and the expression on his face was definitely not relaxed.

"Can you tell me what's going on?"

Fury asked:

"The conspiracy between the Decepticons and some cartilage humans was discovered. Are they planning to turn the table up?"

"It's almost the same, you can think so."

Merlin said:

"They, including the Decepticons and the moderate Cybertans, have the same purpose. The fire source is what they must obtain, just as we have to survive, as we have to have water and air. There is no third way between us and them when it comes to issues concerning survival."

"Conflicts and disputes break out at this time are better than delaying some more things. At least we are at least prepared for now and everything is still under control."

"Have you fought with them?"

Fury nodded, and he asked another question:

“Are those Cybertrons tricky?”

"It's okay for me, we killed three Decepticon gangsters."

Meilin moved his five fingers and said:

"But the guys who survived were not that easy to deal with, and the Cyborg moderates who had been with me were injured. They needed some time to recuperate, and I also needed some time to arrange the response."

"Those mechanical life is numerous, the technological power is enough to crush our world, and there are reinforcements. I have a plan that may be able to suppress them for the time being, but before more Decepticons arrive on Earth, we must make a decision."

He said to Fury:

"Just like using magic to fight magic, to deal with a group of mechanical lives, we'd better find another group of mechanical lives as a helper. I mean, if the blocking is not going well, then we need to consider the 'suggestions' of our moderate friends."

"Summon another group of unknown robots to our world...even if they are still our friends now."

Fury shook his head:

"But no matter how you look at it, you can do what you should do first. I will discuss this with Pierce and other directors. If the situation continues to deteriorate, I will give you an answer as soon as possible."

"Well, let's observe first."

Merlin said:

"Chain the desert, but don't attack rashly, Fury, list it as a military prohibition zone. While you discuss the plan, I'm going to meet an old friend."

"Bang"

The Iron Island Prison, the lowest-level cell, as the elevator door opened in front of him, Merlin walked out of the elevator with a calm expression and walked towards the glass cage in front of him in the darkness.

A moment later, Merlin stood outside the cell of Magneto Eric Lancheer. He stood silently in the darkness like a statue, looking at the prisoner in the cell with his back facing him, leaning against a chair, wearing reading glasses, and reading a collection of poems.

That was a dangerous person.

"You've been very leisurely lately, Eric."

Merlin waited in the dark for nearly a minute, and he found that Magneto seemed to have no intention of speaking actively, so he asked:

"Do you like life here very much? I see that you are even a little happy."

"What can I do?"

Magneto laughed and said:

"Faced with all this in front of me, I can't resist, right? If I can't resist and I don't want to face reality in pain, then escaping is a good idea."

“Escape is shameful, but it is useful.”

The old man in front of Merlin turned the poems in his hand over a page, and he said:

"What's more, it's not different from staying outside than if you are locked up here and staying outside. Many people say that the sky outside represents freedom, but obviously, they don't know what true freedom is. The outside is also a shackle, and it's not as good as here."

The old man smiled and said:

"At least, it's quiet enough to make me think more calmly about gains and losses. From this point of view, I really have to thank you, Mr. Merlin."

"Ah, the heart is bound, and heaven and earth are prisons."

Merlin said something very oriental, and he stopped and said to Magneto:

"It seems that long-term solitude can make people wise, but unfortunately, I don't announce it here. Mr. Eric, your sentence is temporarily over. There is one thing I need your help."

"Um?"

Magneto put down the book in his hand, he stood up tremblingly, he turned to look at Meilin, a trace of doubt and curiosity flashed across the older face, he said:

"Why are you sure I will help you?"

"Because this is also something that is closely related to you."

Merlin didn't hide it, he said frankly:

"A group of assholes with a twisted desire to conquer and will to destroy enter our world, and perhaps an invasion will happen in the next few days. Their targets of conquest are not just human society, Eric, they want the fall of the whole world, the burning world of steel and flames, and in their eyes, humans and mutants are no different."

"They hate, and those you want to protect, will be poisoned by them."

He said:

"We do have conflicts in our position, but from a big framework, the conflict between us is just an internal problem. When we encounter external pressure, we may be able to temporarily put aside our disputes."

"Of course, I can assure you that Eric, no matter what, the earth cannot be destroyed by a group of war dealers who have lost their mother planet and are exiled among the stars. There is a greater power to protect the world."

Merlin spread her hands and said:

"But if I can, I still don't want them to get involved in this matter. I think this matter is not actually beyond the upper limit of the problems we can deal with."

"The problems in front of me are actually the same as all the previous problems. They are nothing more than how much price and sacrifice we have to pay for victory."

Merlin's voice became a little deeper, and he said to Magneto:

"I believe you can understand what I mean, and I need your answer now."

"What about you? Which option do you prefer?"

Magneto stood in the cage and he asked:

"Agent Merlin, you seem to be ready to fight with those invaders. Can I understand that you have made a choice. My opinion is not important, right?"

"Um."

Meilin nodded slightly and said:

"Indeed, I just asked you about your opinion politely. Even if you say no, I will take you out of this cage today. There will be no other person in this world who is more suitable for them than you."

"If you participate in the war, no matter how many of those guys come, they are just a group of ants waiting to be run over by the wheel."

"You agents always like to beat the corners."

Eric said with a hint of sarcasm:

"But unfortunately, I can't help you."

"Um?"

Merlin frowned, and he looked at Magneto with an indifferent look in front of him, and he said:

"This answer is beyond my expectations. After all, according to your previous style of behavior, even if you hate us, you will always act as a protector when it comes to issues related to mutants. I agree with Professor Charles' evaluation of you. Although in my opinion, you are a heinous guy, from the perspective of mutants, you can be regarded as a real hero and leader."

“My people no longer need me.”

Eric said a little lonely:

"They already have another guardian."

Magneto was silent for a moment, and he said to Merlin:

"What's more, I'm already helpless at this time. Agent Merlin... I've lost my ability because of some accidents."

"?"

Merlin's expression changed for a moment, and his figure quickly dissipated in the darkness. When it appeared again, it had already penetrated into the Magneto Eric's cell like an invisible thing. He placed his finger on Eric's shoulder, and the next moment, his eyes narrowed.

Sure enough, Magneto's body was empty.

Just like an old man who is about to die, the once active magnetic force is no longer visible in his aging body, like a dry and cracked pool. The weakness on his face is not disguised, he is really weak.

There is a barrier of energy suppression in this cell. Combined with special drugs, it can suppress the energy in Magneto's body to the lowest intensity. However, this invisible, but always-present energy field also conceals the changes in Magneto's own, making the monitors of the entire island prison unable to discover the changes in Magneto's body.

"What's going on?"

Merlin asked in a deep voice:

"Is your X gene invalid? Or is it the other... is it a crazy attack?"

Merlin stared at Magneto's slightly cloudy eyes and asked:

"When? When did you see him? When did he take your power?"

"I'm sorry, I can't tell you."

Facing Merlin's questioning, Magneto shrugged. He did not seem to feel lost or despair because of his loss of strength. On the contrary, there was an incredible calm on his face.
