22. Black Claws (Part 2)(1/2)

Jesse McCree.

A dangerous guy whose reputation is well known in the dark areas of western North America, his revolver and superb marksmanship also make those who offend him tremble in their hearts.

This is a man who has insisted on the lifestyle of cowboys who have been outdated for hundreds of years in the 21st century.

A maverick.

It is said that his ancestor was the legendary cowboy Arthur Morgan who was active in the western wilderness in the 19th century. The blood of chasing freedom and violence was inherited from the legendary cowboy to McCree.

Between 1994 and 1999, McCree, who was still very young at the time, was a real ruthless figure. His legend rose up by stepping on the heads of one gangster after another in the West.

Later, he joined the Santalia Death Gang and became the No. 2 figure in that gang, but after the mysterious destruction of the Death Gang, he disappeared until the Black Claw Mercenary Group was established.

Like Wade, McCree is also a bottom line person.

He never killed women, children, and old men. He also completed the tasks ordered by the death knell with minimal casualties when he was in Black Claw. In Wade's chaotic memory, Merlin knew that the cowboy was a conscientious man, and he had been trying to get rid of his past life.

This invasion of the ghost base was supposed to be McCree's last mission, but as the stories tell, this adventure became his true last mission.

Now Merlin put what he longed for before him.

"We are a defense organization, and our biggest enemies are the aliens, vampires, demons, werewolfs, ghouls, gray dwarves, dark elves, etc."

Merlin took out his pocket watch and looked at the time. He said to the hesitant McCree:

"You don't want to hurt people anymore, no problem, some aliens ask you to hunt. Those dangerous guys have never given up on coveting human society, and we, those of us, are just a wall between them and ordinary people."

“It’s a job that needs ideals to support, and it’s hard for you to get a honor that matches your credit, and no one will even remember you, but what we do makes sense and it’s really the right thing.”

Merlin said:

"You have amazing hunter talent, and I value you because of Jesse, but you are not my only choice, let alone you are a criminal. You have to understand that I am under a lot of pressure to recruit you into my department. I mean, you'd better work together and don't make me regret making this decision."

"Tell me, what's going on about Miss Ash."

Merlin bounced his finger and said:

"Miss Ash's parents have some influence in the New York high society, and I'm actually hesitating whether to agree to her family's bail request, but I need some truth to make me determined."

"Ash is a dangerous person, there is no doubt about it."

McCree finally spoke, and he said to Merlin:

"But she's not a bad guy."

"If you are familiar with her past resume, then you should know that in those years we did commit sins, but Ash is chasing the thrill of walking on the edge of crime. She is essentially a spoiled rich girl. She does not pursue blood and death. Those people she killed, and those people I killed, should be damned!"

“It’s useful to say something!”

Merlin said impatiently:

"I know very well about her and your past. I know which banks you have robbed and how many gangsters you have destroyed, but you are not judges, you are not qualified to be so careless. Bad guys deserve to die, but you cannot be executed. There are also those things about the Death War Gang selling arms and extortion. Your hands are not clean."

"All right."

McCree curled his lips and whispered:

"Ash has a bad relationship with her parents. They are both big businessmen, busy with business, neglecting their daughter to discipline her daughter, giving her a lot of money, but not giving her a real life. When Ash was an adult, he was kidnapped when he traveled to the west. It was me who saved her and I took her on this road."

"She is very talented and soon became a famous bounty hunter. This era seems advanced, but often its rules have not changed much from hundreds of years ago. We took on missions together and chased the criminals who were offered a reward until we encountered death knives. At that time, he took a few followers away from the pursuit, and we helped him, and then he helped us."

"The Death Knives was established at that time, but Death Knives is very dangerous. He is a standard thug, chasing interests. Under his remote control, the Death Knives quickly changed the flavor. I didn't like that, but Ash didn't care, she enjoyed it. We quarreled several times, and then I left."

The cowboy shook his head and said:

"I returned to my own farm and lived a peaceful life for several months until I heard that the Death Gang was eliminated. A strange organization took over the Death Gang, and Ash escaped, so I went to find her and ended up having a death knell again. But this time when I saw him, I felt that he was different from the past. He became more casual and had no more calculations, just like he had completely changed.

"That's certain."

Merlin said:

"He died once, how could it be that there was no change?"

"What did you say? Death knell died once?"

McCree looked at Merlin in surprise, who waved:

"It has nothing to do with you, let's continue telling your story."

"All right."

McCree glanced at Merlin and continued:

"Actually, there is nothing to say about what happened next. The new death knives led us to establish the Black Claw, pulled his mad cousin, and found a group of people who lost their home like us. We began to live like other mercenaries, running around the world to carry out missions until we met you."

"As for the purpose of Death Knives building the Black Claw, he hasn't told anyone, but I can probably guess."

McCree sighed and said:

"It's nothing more than revenge, nothing more than hatred, what else can it be?"

"Where are the others?"

Merlin said:

"That black lily, and that boxer named Akan, Crazy Rat and Lu Ba, how did they join you?"

"You're talking about Emily?"

McCree asked back, Merlin nodded, and the cowboy explained:

"Emily is the victim. She killed her husband. It was not her intention. She actually loved him very much, but she was brainwashed and transformed. She had experienced terrible things. She came to her home on her own initiative. She wanted Moira to help her relieve her mental brainwashing and control. She also talked to Death Knell. I suspect that she and Death Knell's enemies are the same group."

"As for Akan, it was a thug. He had his own purpose in joining Black Claws. Death Knell didn't trust him very much. There were also Crazy Rats and Road Bads. They were forced to go to our end by the bounty hunter. It is said that because Crazy Rats discovered treasures in the desert of Australia, which led to hunting, but he never mentioned this, and we never asked him."

"There is also the black shadow, that little hacker girl, she was called over temporarily. She is considered a support member of Black Claw and does not participate in our operations very much."

"Well, I probably know."

Merlin nodded and said to McCree:

"You have also been to the base of .m, right? Can you find that place?"

"It's very difficult, basically impossible."

McCree replied calmly:

"Those guys in yellow used some very advanced thing to teleport us from our stronghold to their side. The base should be underground, but it is hard to say its specific location. There is also communication shielding in that place. Any locator left there will be invalid, but Death Knell may know more. I can feel that he has no good feelings for those men in yellow, and even has a hint of murderous intent."

"He may be working with them just to gain trust, and then stab them hard at critical moments."

"Um."

Merlin nodded, it seemed that this matter could not be avoided in the end. He raised his head and looked at McCree, and he said:

“The end is a very personal question, you can choose not to answer.”

"You said you and Ash have broken up, but why do you still love her if you want to exchange your freedom for her?"

"Children only talk about love all day long."

McCree shook his head and said a little lonely:

"That person Ash will not forgive the person who left her. It's over between us. I just owe her favors, that's all."

"Friends"

Merlin sneered:

"It's indeed a magical thing. I found that no matter how vicious a guy is, he will subconsciously want to pay back the debt he has on his body. OK, you convince me, Jesse."

He took out a black bracelet from his pocket, then reached out and opened the glass cage in front of him, threw the bracelet to McCree, he said:

"Bring this with you and never take it off. It means you are willing to join our system. Once its signal disappears, I will send agents to hunt you down Jesse immediately. Everyone deserves a second chance, but only once, don't waste it."

"I will agree to Miss Ash's bail application recently, but she, like you, needs to carry such a monitor. Once I find out she has any repeated crimes, she will be caught back here and spend the rest of her life here."

Merlin took out his pocket watch and looked at it, and he said to McCray:

"Now go to the first floor of the base, Agents Barbie are waiting for you. Your first mission is to assist us in finding the base of .m. After the mission is completed, you need to go to ASCHEU for 6 months of agent training, and then you will become a member of us."

"Finally, welcome to join sl.d."

"Agent McCree."

"Click, click, click"

Amid the sound of mechanical gear movement, Merlin saw the death knell in the deepest cell.

Slade Wilson, a dangerous guy, a sad guy.

This guy is doing daily exercise in his cage. He supports his body with one hand and does push-ups. His movements are extremely standard and fast, fully demonstrating this guy's physical fitness that is different from ordinary people.

In the past few days, since he woke up, he has lived like this every day.

Apart from eating and resting, I spend almost all my time exercising, like a beast that is accumulating strength, ready to break out of the cage at any time.

"Slade."

Merlin said:

"We met again, just like last time, you lost again."

Death Knell didn't seem to hear Merlin's sarcastic greetings. He was still exercising on his own, and even the expression on his face did not change.
