1. Top Secret Mission(1/2)
"Riwen? Have you woken up?"
Merlin, who was holding a breakfast, knocked on her sister's door and asked outside the door:
"Can I come in?"
At this time, it was 7 o'clock in the morning, and the sun had shone into the room along the window. Meilin had already completed a series of activities of morning jogging, swordsmanship and cleaning up the room according to his own routine. He also made breakfast for himself and planned what he had today's work.
At this point, his new sister should have just woken up.
Logically speaking, as a magic girl, Riven should also have a healthy routine, but the problem is that she is in a weak state and needs enough sleep every day to ensure she is awake.
"Come in."
Riven rang in the room with a tired voice, and Merlin pushed open the door and saw Riven getting up from the bed.
The child's beautiful head was found in a mess, his eyes were full of fatigue, as if he didn't sleep well last night.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Merlin put the breakfast next to the table, frowned, and looked at Riven's slightly painful expression, he asked:
"Have you had a nightmare again?"
"Um."
Ruiwen nodded, and the cold-hearted girl rubbed the diamond-shaped gems on her forehead, and said with a haggard face:
"It is affecting me, even if it is isolated, it is still calling me."
"Is it original sin?"
Meilin sat beside Riven's bed. He stretched out his finger and tried to touch Riven's forehead, but the girl hid over. She grabbed the quilt, blocked her body, and looked at Meilin with a vigilant look. She said fiercely:
"What do you want to do?"
"Stop making trouble!"
Merlin strengthened her tone, stretched her fingers forward, and pressed against the gem on Riven's forehead. As a magic power penetrated into Riven's forehead, the haggardness on the girl's face and the pain caused by the headache were relieved bit by bit.
After a moment, Merlin withdrew his finger, he looked at Riven and said:
"Now, there should be no problem. Go and wash and have breakfast. I'll take you to Elsa later. I'll be on a business trip these days, and she will take care of you for me."
"What happened to the magic just now?"
Ruiwen, whose face became rosier, looked at Meilin's finger curiously, and she said:
"What kind of magic is that? How did you learn it?"
"I'm working on a super-level spell recently."
Meilin stood up, picked up several dolls on the ground in the room, placed them on the shelf on the side, and said casually:
"That spell can well stabilize the physical and mental conditions of special energy users like us. If you are well-behaved for a while, I will consider teaching you this spell after I come back."
"I'm not a kid! Merlin."
Ruiwen said dissatisfiedly:
"Don't talk to me in the tone of talking to children!"
"All right."
Merlin raised her hand and looked at the time. He said to Raven:
"You change your clothes first, we'll set out in 30 minutes. By the way, what are you going to drink? Strawberry milk? Or hot chocolate?"
"Um"
Riven poked her face with her finger, looking like she was hard to decide. After a few seconds, she said:
"I want both!"
"Okay, I'll do it for you."
Merlin glanced at the comic book that Riven placed beside the bed, a fleeting smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, and then pushed open the door and walked out.
She is still a child after all.
The little girl likes to pretend to be an adult, but she doesn't have much resistance to these things that the children like.
After spending time together, Merlin has figured out Riven's slightly strange personality.
She is the kind of child born in the year of the hedgehog. She has been trying to isolate herself from others, have her own small world, her own set of outlook on life and values, but as long as she doesn't touch a few taboo topics, as long as she masters the way of speaking and can tolerate her always cold look, it's still easy to get along with.
"Well, it's unexpectedly very similar to Demian."
While taking out the ingredients for making drinks from the refrigerator, Merlin thought:
"But my sister is much better than that guy Demian. At least she won't rush out recklessly and mess up everything. I don't know how Demian has been doing recently? The awkward father-son relationship between him and Bruce must be very interesting."
30 minutes later, Merlin picked up the car keys from the table and said to Riven, who was drinking hot chocolate:
"You go and pack your own things, I'll drive. You will live in the House of Blood these days, bringing all the toiletries and other things."
"I know."
Ruiwen returned to her cold state. She patted the bag on her hand without raising her head and said to Meilin:
"And I've packed it up."
"Okay, I'll wait for you outside the door."
Meilin opened the door and walked towards the garage, watching Meilin leave the living room. Ruiwen put down the spoon in her hand. She looked around, like a little fox stealing chicken, and then quietly took out something from her bag around her waist.
That was an envelope.
It was found by Riven a few days ago in the corner of Merlin's underground laboratory.
This should be Merlin's thing, and there are a few magics attached to the envelope.
"This looks like a magic letter?"
Riven blinked her eyes, she turned the envelope over, looked at the sign in the corner of the envelope, and whispered:
"Violet Pen Pals? Are there small groups of Earth Wizards?"
"Well, it looks interesting. Maybe I can get some magical things from other wizards."
"Anyway, Merlin didn't use it, it was covered in dust. If I used it, he wouldn't mind?"
The sound of a car honking sounded outside the door. Riven stuffed the envelope into her bag, drank the hot chocolate in her hand, then carried her small bag with the moon and stars, put on a soft hat, pushed open the door and walked out.
She opened Merlin's rear door and sat in the back seat. Merlin started the car and rushed towards the House of Blood several blocks away.
Elsa's mysterious goods store still looks deserted, and the female owner doesn't care much about it. The rewards brought by the last bulk transaction with S.H.E.D., plus the fixed allowance received from sdold every month, made her not have to worry about money at all.
When Merlin arrived here, Elsa was already waiting for him at the door of the store.
To be precise, I am waiting for Riven.
"Yo, Little Raven."
Miss Bloodstone happily took Riven's bag and took the child's hand. Elsa really liked Riven, and Ruiwen was quite willing to get along with Elsa.
Merlin rolled down the window, pushed his glasses and said to Elsa:
"I'm going to bother you again these days."
"It's okay, it's okay."
Elsa said to Merlin:
"Little Ruiwen can live with me for as long as she wants. When I was a child, I always wanted a sister, but unfortunately my parents didn't plan to continue having children. But then again, don't you need me to go with you this time? Can you do it alone?"
"If I can't handle it, I will contact you as soon as possible, my ASUS Consultant."
Merlin laughed, he glanced at Riven, who was standing behind Elsa, and said:
"Don't give her too much ice cream. She's still very weak. Don't take her out for a run. She doesn't have the ability to protect herself now. You can take Daisy over. She and Daisy have a good time."
After a few words of advice, Merlin restarted his car and drove towards the 21st Century Bell Telephone Company.
He has another important task to do before setting out to find the missing mutants.
More than ten minutes later, Merlin came to his office. Agent Colson, who had not seen him for more than a month, was waiting for him in the office.
"Hello, sir."
Colson looked at Merlin who walked into the office and said:
"You look good. I heard you found your sister?"
"Hmm? Is this news spreading now?"
Merlin sat in the chair with a smile, and he said to Colson:
"How is it going on in Philadelphia? Is it going well?"
"Just just establishing a regional office, sir, that's not a difficult thing."
Speaking of work, Colson's expression became more serious. He took out a report from his briefcase he carried with him and placed it on Merlin's desk. He said:
"The alien environment in Philadelphia is much more relaxed than in New York. Apart from some werewolf hiding in the suburbs, there are not many stubborn forces there. But the northwest, the more complicated the situation is, especially in the inland areas. Due to the economic decline, the social environment there is a bit chaotic, and the less settled alien activities are more rampant."
