18. The boy who called the fish(1/2)

"Clang"

A thick and shiny lightning rippled the dark sky, illuminating the ocean covered by the storm at this moment, just like daylight.

The sea is never calm or gentle. Whenever you think you have conquered the sea, it will slap you hard like a shrew.

For example, now, the ocean, which is still calm during the day, is like being stirred by invisible hands at night, and the waves are rolling, throwing the heavy cargo ship from the sea and then throwing it into the sea crazily.

Bruce, who tied himself in the cabin, was vaguely recalling the scene of playing roller coasters when he was a child. His situation was extremely bad at this time.

To be honest, before the storm arrived, Bruce really didn't know that he was also seasick.

"It's all my fault, I should have left here soon."

Merlin was in a better condition. He lay at the entrance of the cargo hold and tried his best to listen to the sound coming from above the cabin.

In the dark perception, he could hear the terrified shouts of the crew and the captain's roar. It seemed that some bad things had begun to appear in the cabin.

Merlin's face looked ugly. Although she didn't know if the storm was accidental, Merlin still subconsciously believed that it was the outbreak of bad luck that he had been suppressing, which led to the ship's current crisis.

He stood up in the crazy swaying cargo hold with difficulty. He looked back at the dizzy Bruce. He gritted his teeth, stepped forward, and pushed the door of the cargo hold open.

"Bruce, take care of yourself."

Merlin shouted:

"I'll go up and take a look."

Bruce Wayne saw Merlin rushing out of the cargo hold and he wanted to help, but his situation was really bad at this time.

He struggled to untie the rope around his waist, held the beating wall of the boat, and moved all the way to the upper cabin.

Merlin rushed into the dining room along the kitchen, and the closer he was to the deck, the more he felt the scorching smell that shouldn't have appeared in this cold storm.

It was the flames burning. While the ship was hit by a storm, a small fire broke out in the cabin due to a sudden failure of the mechanical operation in the cabin.

The closer he got there, the more he could hear the messy shouts of the crew, as if a few unlucky guys were trapped in the fire.

"Get out of the way, get out of the way!"

Merlin no longer cared about hiding himself. He brought sunglasses and pushed away the panicked crew. He covered the cold shadows on his body, picked up the fire extinguisher from the side, and ran towards the cabin in front of him that was blocked by the flames.

The shadow of the body can make him persist in the flame for a little longer.

However, even if he really encountered a fatal crisis, the dark energy in his body would not let him die like this.

"Who is that lunatic!"

The first mate who rushed over after hearing the news grabbed a crew member and pointed at Meilin who rushed into the fire and shouted:

"Why have I never seen him?"

"No one knows, boss."

The crew member wiped the sweat from his forehead, and shook his head wildly:

"Maybe it was a smuggler, but he is at least helping us now."

"Clang"

Another big wave came, and the entire cargo ship was thrown up, making the seafarers untenable and fell in the cabin full of scorching air.

They stared at the burning cabin in front of them. No matter what their senses of Merlin suddenly appeared, they could only pray that the guy who suddenly appeared could save their brother trapped in the fire.

One minute, two minutes, until the moment when everyone was almost desperate, the fat chef who refused to give up suddenly pointed to the rushing flames in front of his eyes and shouted:

"It's him! It's that young man!"

"He really did it! Help!"

The crew members who were waiting on the side of the fire stepped forward with all their might and pulled the panting Merlin and the guys he dragged out of the fire to the side. These unlucky guys were burned, but they were not fatal. If Merlin went ten minutes later, their situation might have been worse.

Merlin lay aside, and he also had signs of burning on his body, but fortunately, except for being tired, he did not have obvious injuries.

"I don't know who you are, nor do I know what you're doing on this boat."

The black lieutenant closed the hatch in front of him to stop the fire from spreading. He looked down at Merlin and said:

"But maybe now, everyone on this ship wants to thank you."

Merlin had no strength to answer him. He just wiped the black and gray on his face and waved his hand. While the fire in the cabin was controlled, Merlin looked out the window. The storm that seemed to destroy everything seemed to have become smaller.

The worst moment in this doom has finally passed.

The next morning, the sudden storm stopped completely a few hours ago. The ships that had almost lost power could only float on the sea, and finally waited for rescuers.

Several ships from Ci'en Port approached the cargo ship. They had to send the crew to the port first and then arrange to tug the damaged cargo ship back to the dock.

At this time, in the captain's room, the old captain who had been tired all night stared at Merlin and Bruce in front of him with a stern look. He took a sip of cigarettes, knocked on the table, and said:

"Maybe I should hand you two over to the police. After all, you are smugglers and stole a lot of our food. Most importantly, I suspect you have other purposes. After all, Stark Industries is often spied by commercial spies sent by other peers, but unfortunately, I have no evidence to prove this."

"But we saved your crew, too."

Merlin, who had a hemorrhage bandage on his face, looked at the captain and said:

"So I think we should be even, right?"

"Flat?"

The old captain squinted his eyes and said in a bad tone:

"Think beautifully!"

The tall old man stood up, staring at Merlin and Bruce with bad eyes. The aggressive look made the two young men unable to help but take a step back.

After several minutes, the old man sat down again. He pulled open the drawer, took out an envelope from the drawer, and threw it to Merlin.

Merlin took the envelope in his hand, looked down and found a stack of money in the envelope.

He looked up at the old captain with some confusion, who shrugged at him:

"Now, we're just getting even."

"This is the 'gift' given to you by those crew members. After all, you saved their lives, and I should actually thank you too."

The old man picked up another cigarette, and after igniting it leisurely, he said to Merlin and Bruce:

"The process of handling internal affairs of Stark Industry is very complicated, and one of the boundaries is casualties. If you hadn't saved those unlucky guys, I'd probably fly back to New York to be investigated. The damn xx-faced bastards wouldn't have let me pass the test so easily, so, in theory, you've also saved my precarious career."

"Now, get out! There is a boat waiting for you below. I will pretend that I didn't see you. Next time, don't let me see you two thieves steal again."

Merlin and Bruce looked at each other, Merlin threw the envelope to Bruce, yawned himself, and turned around and left the cabin.

Bruce pulled out a piece of money from the envelope and placed it on the old captain's table. The young man with blue eyes said to the unknown old captain:

"This is the money for wine. Thank you for your hospitality these days."

"I would like to remind you not to buy alcohol in that store next time. The 'expensive' whiskeys in your wine cabinet are all fake."

"Uh, the wine here tastes weird."

On the pier of Port Ci'en, Bruce and Merlin walked together. Merlin drank a sip of the wine he had just bought and said to Bruce with a discomfort:

"It's just like the juice that has been overnight."

"It's okay."

It doesn't matter to Bruce. He felt the oncoming sea breeze and said to Merlin:

"Enjoy it, it's something we bought for our own money."

"Well, the wine tastes better if you say that."

Merlin laughed, drank the wine in his hand and threw the cup into the trash can. He wore sunglasses, looked left and right, pointed to the beach not far away, and said to Bruce:

"Look! There is a lighthouse there."

"Not just a lighthouse"

Bruce narrowed his eyes and looked above the lighthouse that penetrated deep into the sea, and he said:

"There is someone above, what is he doing?"

"That's a kid, hell!"

Merlin raised her head, and the enhanced vision could see at a glance the object moving around the edge of the lighthouse. It was a little boy lying beside the railing. He seemed to fall from the lighthouse in the next moment. He hurriedly patted Bruce on the shoulder:

"He's going to fall! Hurry!"

Bruce immediately threw down the bottle of wine in his hand and rushed towards the lighthouse with Merlin.

But just as they were about to get close to the lighthouse, Merlin exclaimed, and in front of the two, the little boy holding the lighthouse railing jumped down from above the lighthouse.

"Damn it!"

Seeing the child fall into the sea, Merlin took off his shirt and threw the clothes to Bruce while running. He rushed to the beach and jumped into the sea without saying a word.

Merlin's swimming skills were not too bad. He rushed into the cold sea, swaying his hands and feet, and rushed towards the boy struggling on the sea.

Bruce grabbed a swimming ring connected to a rope on the dock railing and ran on the shore towards the child's fall.

"I've caught you! Don't let go!"
