3. The last Kryptonian -- 123 brothers for ghost repair [2/7]

When he was a teenager, Clark Kent lived a very painful life.

He knew since he was a child that he had some super powers that he could not describe to others, just like a hero in a comic. No, his abilities were stronger than human comics imagined.

When he was 3 years old, he went to the hospital alone at night with his sick mother.

When I was 5 years old, I couldn't fall asleep because I could hear the noises all over Kansas, and I suffered from insomnia at one time.

At the age of 8, he could only push the school bus full of classmates out of the mud by himself.

When he was 11 years old, he rescued more than a dozen innocent kidnapped people in the rain of bullets on his way from school.

Such magical events seriously disrupted Clark's teenage life. After each use of his ability, in order not to attract attention, he had to transfer to another school.

During that period, Clark didn't understand why a person had strong abilities but had to try his best to hide and avoid being regarded as an alien by others?

Why is he different from other children?

This has troubled Clark for many years until he learned about his life experience from his parents.

He was not born on Earth, but he was taken care of by the kind-hearted Kents as their children since childhood.

After dropping out of high school, Clark traveled around the world, looking for everything related to his life experience.

Later he met Merlin, joined S.H.E.L.D., and found the Kryptonian spacecraft that fell in Antarctica. The spacecraft is still in the glaciers in Antarctica and is nicknamed "Lonely Castle" by Clark.

At one point he thought that it was his last connection with his hometown of Krypton.

He used the spacecraft's database to unlock the secret of the Krypton master key he carried with him. He learned everything about Krypton from the projection of his biological father Joe Al.

The origin, development, rise and decline of that planet, and even its final destruction.

Joe told him that he was the last orphan of Krypton and had to shoulder the mission of rebuilding Krypton, but under Merlin's persuasion, Clark did not seriously complete that mission.

He has his life, and he has lived in this world for so many years as Clark Kent, and his soul has become a true earthling.

He did not think that the identity of Kryptonians was much nobler than that of the Earthlings, nor did he think that a civilization that was eliminated by nature must be rebuilt.

With one's own strength, you can defeat a devastating world.

This is nothing that cannot be done.

However, things are unpredictable. More than a year ago, Clark met his cousin Cara Al and learned that he was not the last Kryptonian.

Kryptonian girl Kara's experience is even more bizarre than Clark.

She was born during the period when Krypton was about to be destroyed, and was a teenager older than Clark. When Krypton was destroyed, she had already had a complete personality and had personally experienced the moments of world destruction.

But while she was on an escape ship, she was captured by a weird "ghost space" while escaping Krypton, Kara spent nearly 30 years in that special area where time was almost stagnant.

Although she is already in her 40s, due to the ghost space, she still maintains the appearance of a 16-year-old girl and finally falls on Earth.

She was first captured by the Atlantis, but she was weak and imprisoned in the Atlantis border cage, and then was rescued by Arthur Curry.

She herself knew that she had a cousin on Earth, and she met Clark for the first time during the war in New York.

The first meeting between the siblings was not pleasant. Because of Arthur and Merlin, Carla was on the spot as Clark's enemy. The two fought outside New York and even permanently changed the terrain of the place.

After Clark escaped from the control of his mind, he took the initiative to go to Maine, had a chat with Kara, and took her to the Antarctic Fortress.

The siblings finally reconciled.

But Clark hid his mission from Carra and said nothing about rebuilding Krypton.

The girl Kara doesn't seem to be interested in these things either.

She now has her own life. It is said that she even kicked Arthur and found a new boyfriend, who was in charge of S.D.O.L.D., and Clark sent her to Stanford University and occasionally did odd jobs.

Although life has no sense of direction, Kara's current life is still enjoyable.

Clark also did not refuse to have a cousin in his life, or from the outside, it was more appropriate to call a cousin, and his adoptive mother and adoptive father were also willing to accept Kara into the family.

Although Cara's arrival occasionally causes some trouble for Clark, overall, it will make Clark's side of human nature feel no longer lonely.

The two of them carried the weight of a devastating civilization together, which was much easier than resisting one person.

But that's it.

Clark thought that Carla's arrival was the last story between him and Krypton.

He and Kara are the last two sons of Krypton.

Then...

Now, on a continent falling from stars on Earth, his former good friend Thor gave him a real "surprise".

He and Kara are not the last Kryptonians!

In addition to them, there are 16 Kryptonians living!

Um...

This made Clark feel a sense of confusion and joy, and a strange idea appeared in his mind.

First there was Kara, then there were 16 Kryptonian soldiers.

If one day Merlin told him that deep in the stars, there was a city of Krypton intact, where hundreds of thousands of Kryptonians lived, Clark would probably not be surprised.

What's the last son of Krypton...

It's like a joke that deliberately deceives people's tears!

But this also made Clark feel sincerely relaxed, and the shame of deviating from his mission was quickly weakened at this moment.

He doesn't need to rebuild Krypton at all!

As long as people are still there, civilization is still there...

Judging from the current situation, Krypton may not have died at all.

In the Asgard castle, Clark and Thor were drinking wine, waiting for the arrival of the Kryptonians, but Clark had an indescribable worry in his heart.

In the database of Lonely Fortress, according to Joe Al, this General Zod is not a good person...

After drinking another glass of wine, Clark couldn't help but touch his chest.

He has been feeling a little restless recently.

It's like a premonition, something...

Some unhealthy things are about to happen.

It's about to happen.

———————

More than ten minutes later, the door of the inner hall of the castle was pushed open.

Clark turned around and saw 16 people strode into the castle under the leadership of the Golden Palace Guard.

They wore Asgardian robes, their external form was no different from that of humans, but unlike the gentle temperament exposed by Clark, these 16 people had an extremely serious and indifferent military aura.

This can also be seen from their mode of action.

After entering the hall, except for the two leaders, the remaining 14 people naturally formed a loose formation that facilitates attack and deals with all emergencies.

They took a tall middle-aged man with short black hair and black beard as the leader, and beside the leader, there was a tall and indifferent lady wearing high heels and black hair.

It looks like the leader's adjutant.

Everyone's eyes were focused on Clark, and the scrutiny gaze made Clark feel very uncomfortable.

Their eyes are really aggressive.

If Clark is a Kryptonian hero who grew up in peacetime, then the 16 compatriots in front of him are probably the kind of professional soldiers who have been trained as war machines since childhood and killed people.

But that leader is different.

His eyes were also scrutinized, but they were a little gentle.

It was like the uncle next door watching the younger generation grow up healthily, and there was a trace of unconcealed surprise and desire deep in the general's eyes.

"How are you doing recently? General Zod."

Thor sat at the banquet table and waved to his friends in Krypton.

Faced with his inquiry, General Zod showed a slightly stiff smile, and he said:

"My friends in Asgard are very enthusiastic and have prepared very good residences for us, and treatments. My tribes are grateful for your hospitality. You are friends of Kryptonians, and there is no doubt about this."

"Cooperation in the war has laid the foundation for the friendship between our two tribes. From now on, as long as the Asgardians need it, the Kryptonians will definitely set foot on the battlefield with you."

This statement is very organized and the meaning revealed is very formal.

Make people feel good.

After all, it was Asgard's prince who risked the risk of releasing them from the collector's cage, and the Kryptonians also reciprocate, helping the Asgardians defeat the Dark Alliance and helping them transport the wounded when they are still transferring.

After coming to Earth through the Rainbow Bridge, the generous Asgardians treated the fatigue and damage of their bodies for the long-term imprisoned Kryptonians, and generously gave them a manor to rest.

Obviously, the Queen of Heaven is taking her busy schedule and she has not forgotten to win over these "allies" with strong combat power and homelessness. Now it seems that the Queen of Heaven's strategy is well carried out.

"Come on, drink together, let me introduce you to your fellow countrymen who are left on Earth, my friend and good brother, Clark."

Thor stood up and invited the Kryptonian warriors to the table.

General Zod was not polite either. He waved his hand, and soldiers with military temperament entered the table one after another, while General Zod walked forward and looked at Clark with gentle eyes.

He stretched out his hand, clenched his fists, and pounded Clark's chest.

He said:

“Exactly the same…”

"What?"

Clark asked:

“What exactly is the same?”

"I mean, you're exactly the same as Joe when he was young."

The general chuckled and signaled Clark to sit with him. He picked up the wine glass and clinked a glass with Thor. While the other Kryptonians were silently eating, he said to Clark in his elder posture:

"Joe and I were born in the same group of children during the Great Recession of Krypton."

"I don't know if you know the rules of Krypton at that time, the social form solidified, and the use of genetic technology to shape everyone's life and social positioning."

"I was designated as a warrior before I was born, and Joe was designated as a scientific researcher, so did your mom Laura."

"I know."

Clark's first impression of his compatriot was, in general, not bad.

Zod did not show his arrogant side. He had been communicating with Clark in a very equal way, perhaps a strategy, perhaps a friendship between him and Joe Al.

But Clark remained a little alert.

Because if he remembers correctly, Joe Al's projection once told him that Zod killed Joe Al in an accident, and he was sentenced to exile.

On the eve of the destruction of Krypton, along with his most loyal followers, were exiled to the ghost space.

But that also allowed Zod to escape the disaster of destruction.

"Joe left his private database to me, and I figured out how to untie it as an adult."

Clark said to Zod:

"I know what happened to Krypton, and I know what happened to it when it was destroyed, and I have seen it."

"Um."

The general nodded, he took a sip of wine and said to Clark:

"Then you must know that the era in which my father and I lived was terrible."

"Civilization has lost its vitality, like a dying beast strangled by its neck, struggling in the mud of despair. Everyone with ideals wants to change. Society is very depressed, like water before boiling."

"We made an appointment with your father, and I, who had vowed to save Krypton together, but because of our personal experience, we eventually embarked on a completely different path."

Speaking of this, Zod shook his head with some regret.

He put down his wine glass and said to Clark calmly:

"You don't need to doubt, I think you already know that your father died at my hands. It was an accident, a regrettable accident."

After saying this, the atmosphere in the banquet hall immediately became stagnant.

Zod's adjutant, the silent lady swallowed the food in her mouth, grabbed a knife with a normal expression, and the other Kryptonian soldiers all raised their heads and looked at Clark.

Thor's face changed slightly.

He really didn't know that there was actually this relationship between Zod and Clark.

He winked at the guard standing on one side, the executioner Skolchi, who immediately took a few steps back and left the hall from the other side. After a few seconds, there were the sound of soldiers gathering outside the hall.

Obviously, Thor was also worried about the development of things, and he himself grabbed the battle axe placed beside his legs.

Although, with his current combat power, being hit by a random punch in this group of peerless men is probably going to fall into a coma.

But he is Clark's brother!

He could not choose to watch such things.

"I know."

Clark's expression was very calm, and he winked at Thor, indicating that he didn't have to be nervous.

He turned his head and looked at Zod, and he said:

"I saw that picture when my parents sent me into the launch chamber, and you rushed into my father's laboratory with your followers and the lady beside you, trying to stop me, who was still a baby, from escaping."

Clark said things from the past calmly, as if he was telling another story.

He said:

"In the chaos, you hit my father, and he fell to the ground, covered in blood. I saw your desperate and painful roar, you hugged him, and you were mad and asked the people around you to save him."

"You don't want to do that. Although you have embarked on different paths, your friendship is real."

Clark pursed his lips and said:

"You are all trying to save your civilization. No one has any mistakes. As you said, it was a sad accident, and I will not blame you for it."

Zod blinked, then shook his head, and he said:

"You don't think he is your father, so you're not angry, like watching the death of a stranger, you're not in a mess. It's hard for you to call yourself Kryptonian, Clark, or... Carl."

"You only have the body of a Kryptonian, but you don't have the soul of a Kryptonian, and you can't inherit that kind of glory. To be honest, this disappoints me a little, but it's not your fault. After all, you are just a child when you go through all this, and you can't resist fate."

"Give me the central book, Clark."

Zod stood up, and he looked at Clark, like he was looking at a real stranger, he said:

"I won't ask you to rebuild Krypton, I will complete that mission myself. You don't have to live with Joe's heavy expectations, give me that thing, and..."
