5. Merlin's method [37/100]
The Observation Laboratory built by the Imperial Organization in the Mona Island volcano is a comprehensive observation facility.
There are enough rooms for guests to rest, and because they are close to the volcano, there is sufficient geothermal energy to keep the temperature of the room deep into the mountain walls at a relatively comfortable level.
At night, Merlin was dealing with some weird materials in his room. He brought some beakers and heating devices from the laboratory of the Imperial Organization, as well as a small centrifuge, which seemed to be making something like a potion.
Just as he chopped a few plants that looked like nepentas, a low knock on the door rang at the door.
Merlin frowned. He didn't like being disturbed at work.
He stood up and opened the door. Agent Hill was standing outside the door.
"What's wrong? Doris."
Merlin asked:
"Is something wrong?"
"I just have some questions, sir."
As soon as Hill said something, she saw Merlin's stern gaze, and she immediately changed her words:
"I mean, Doctor. I'm curious, what methods would you use to help the Emperor's organization eliminate the effects of high temperatures and smoke?"
"I just measured it. On the stone wall near Raton, the temperature has reached 1500 degrees. There is currently no special material in the world that can withstand such hot temperatures."
"I have my way."
Merlin said calmly:
"Go back and rest, Dauris, you will see it tomorrow."
After saying that, Merlin was about to close the door, but was blocked by Agent Hill with his arm. Hill lowered his voice and said:
"Doctor, Vivian came to chat with me just now, and I racked my brains to fool her. I didn't know in advance that your disguised identity was actually alien biology. I almost did nothing about my homework."
"You have to tell some more about alien creatures, otherwise I will not be able to hold it until tomorrow."
The troubles that Hill encountered made Merlin frown. He thought about it and opened the door:
"Then come in and just do something for me."
Hill walked into Merlin's room and saw the bottles and jars piled on the table at a glance. In the beaker on the heating equipment, there were some small pieces of stones that looked like ore and amber.
The small centrifuge next to it is running quickly, and there are liquids of different colors in those test tubes.
On the desk, Merlin was cutting some plants with a knife, and there was a bowl dedicated to grinding on the table.
"Grind those herbs into juice."
Merlin squatted in front of the heated beaker. He carefully observed the changes in the liquid in the beaker. He ordered Hill, who sat on the chair and began to grind the cut plants with a grinding rod.
The taste in the house is definitely not good, and the fragrance of that plant also has a strange smell of oil.
"What is this doing? Doctor."
After several minutes, Hill grind herbs and looked back at Merlin. The latter was looking for something with an old-looking book.
Hearing Hill's inquiry, Merlin answered without looking back:
"Flame Protection Potion. A potion that can make people immune to flames and high temperatures in a short period of time. This thing is a bit complicated, and it is my first time to make it."
“???”
The young female agent suddenly widened her eyes. She glanced at the medicinal herbs that smelled strange in her hands. At this moment, she thought her chief was crazy.
Does this kind of thing that sounds like a magical object really exist?
But Hill thought again, if the notes Merlin took out were real, if things like vampires and haunted lava worms were real, then these magical products might have existed.
But to say that, it is really hard to make a girl who has lived in the scientific world for more than 20 years to accept the existence of magic at once.
She maintained a surprised expression, and a few minutes later, she asked again:
"Doctor, are all recorded in those notes true?"
"What?"
Merlin, who was focused on viewing the magic book, looked back at Hill and asked:
"What did you just say?"
"I mean, vampires, lava worms, and Ye Qi. Are these real? Do they really exist? Have you really been in contact with them?"
Hill asked seriously, seriously, like a curious baby.
Faced with Hill's inquiry, Merlin didn't want to answer much. He took out a book from his box and threw it to Hill.
"After reading this, you can chat with Vivian."
The latter took it in his hand and found that it was a book written in parchment. On the cover was a handsome man holding a strange black stick. Behind him were several charming women with poses, with heavy makeup and light makeup, which looked like they didn't look serious.
What shocked Hill was that the cover of the book was still moving. Under her gaze, the handsome man turned around and walked towards the coquettish women and kissed them passionately.
Well, this man is not a serious person at first glance.
The title of this book is also quite interesting. It is called "Traveling on the Boat with Vampires". The signature is a name that Hill has never heard of, Gidro Lohart.
Hill looked through a few pages and found that this was a self-telling biography story.
It seems to tell the story of a young wizard named Gidro Harlot who accidentally broke into a castle full of vampires while traveling by boat in Eastern Europe, and spent half a month in it "happily" and then escaped with his intelligence.
The story itself is nothing strange, very old-fashioned, adventure stories with many erotic elements.
But what surprised Hill was that in this biography, many details about the characteristics of the vampire were introduced in detail.
"Is this story true? Is this Gidro Lohart really a wizard?"
Hill raised her head curiously, but she saw her Chief Merlin pulling out a red magic wand from her waist. After a few light taps, the liquid that was already boiling in the beaker became strangely calmed down.
This scene made Hill open his mouth wide.
Chief Merlin!
He is a wizard!
Hell!
O God!
The wizard really exists!
And right in front of her!
Merlin didn't care about Hill's expression, and he answered without looking back:
"That story is true. There are indeed many castles controlled by vampires in Romania. As for Gidro Lohart, this is a very controversial wizard, whose fans fancied that he is the greatest travel wizard in the world. But some orthodox wizards say he is just a boring liar. I haven't seen that guy before, but he wrote a good book."
"It's better to use it as a pastime science book."
As he spoke, Merlin stretched out his finger and waved it gently. The books in his box seemed to be held invisible hands and fell into Hill's hands.
That was all the autobiography of the travel wizard Giderro. Hill looked down and found that the names of these books were basically carved from the same mold.
"Walking with Ghouls", "Vacation with Mother Yasha", "Me Who Can Magic", "Walking with Mountain Monsters", "Walking with Werewolf", etc. There are magical images of the handsome Gidero on the cover of each book.
"Take it back and see."
Merlin walked to the dull Hill, took the drowning medicine and poured it into the beaker, and said to Hill:
"After reading these books, you are a pioneering researcher of alien organisms. Are there any other things?"
Merlin looked back at Hill with a weird face, who was holding a bunch of books. She wanted to say something, but when she saw the magic wand in Merlin's hand and the strange light on the wand, Hill subconsciously shook her head.
The frightened young girl turned around and walked out quickly with her book in her arms.
What she saw tonight was so terrifying that she needed time to calm down.
Hearing the sound of the door closing, Merlin finally nodded with satisfaction. In front of him, the potion composed of 7 liquids finally reached the last step.
If nothing unexpected happens, the first bottle of flame protection potion he made by hand will be freshly released in a few hours. Unfortunately, the production process of this thing requires two catalytic magic, so it doesn't matter if it is used for mass production.
But it doesn't matter. Merlin only needs to use this thing to win the recognition of the Imperial Organization.
—
Early the next morning, in the laboratory of the Imperial Organization, Dr. Serizawa looked at the syringe in Meilin's hand and the silver-white liquid emitting cold air in the syringe.
He took off his glasses and asked in a deep voice:
"Dr. Merlin, you're not kidding, are you?"
"No."
Merlin said with a serious look on his face:
"I never joke about research."
"But you just hold a tube of liquid now and tell me that this thing can help ordinary people withstand the high temperatures in the belly of volcanoes?"
Dr. Serizawa frowned and said:
"I know the project you are studying has a bit of magical color, but this does not mean that you can use some magical things to destroy my cognition! The temperature in this volcano can reach 1,200 degrees, allowing ordinary people to enter that environment, which is simply a death sentence!"
"here we go again!"
Merlin said with disgust:
"You old-fashioned guys, you can't accept any knowledge other than science in your ignorant minds, but I don't expect you to accept it, Dauris, open the door! I will prove my theory with facts."
Agent Hill heard Merlin's words and pressed the button in the observation room, but was stopped by Vivian.
"no!"
Vivian, a female biologist, said stubbornly:
"We can't just joke about human lives!"
"Do you still want to study Raton?"
Merlin didn't want to argue with them, so she rushed to the gate of the observation room, pushed Vivian away, pressed the button, and shook Dr. Serizawa's hand that blocked him, and rushed into the volcano in front of her without wearing protective clothing.
Dr. Serizawa grabbed the protective suit at hand and rushed in with Merlin. He shouted to his apprentice:
"Vivian, turn on the monitoring equipment and I will bring that crazy man back!"
"Your doctor is crazy!"
Vivian watched the instructor rush into the volcano. She turned her head and screamed at Hill, then rushed to the observation instrument, and opened several high-magnification observers in the volcano's belly.
There were still dark circles on her eyes. It was obvious that Hill had not slept all night. She walked to Vivian. She didn't say anything, but looked at the picture on the screen with Weiweian.
A few minutes later, the laboratory door in the middle of the volcano's belly opened, and while Vivian and Hill were watching, Merlin was directly exposed to the scorching air, with a gas mask on his face.
What was most surprising was that Dr. Serizawa, who walked out behind him, also began to take off his protective suit. The two men walked on the surface of the rock that was enough to roast eggs, and along the rock, approaching the stone wall where Raton's body and the magma were in contact.
"His he succeeded?"
Vivian exclaimed, and she looked back at Hill, her eyes full of incredibleness.
"What exactly is the liquid in Dr. Merlin's hand?"
She pointed to the screen and asked:
"The temperature there is already over 800 degrees, and ordinary people can't stand it at all. But he and Dr. Serizawa were not injured at all! What's going on?"
"Well"
Hill looked at Merlin and Shiro Serizawa who were closer to Raton's body little by little in the picture, and she said with some uncertainty:
"I'm not very clear either."
"Dr. Merlin attaches great importance to his research results. I just know that it is a drug that can make people immune to flames and high temperatures for a short period of time. It should be a special achievement he discovered when studying alien organisms."
Speaking of this, Hill couldn't help but say:
"We Dr. Merlin is a very powerful alien scientist. He is definitely not a liar. You see, the facts have proved that the research of the Imperial Organization does require people like Dr. Merlin."
"yes."
Vivian did not hear other meanings in Hill's words. She stared at the monitor in front of her. Dr. Serizawa was touching Raton's body with her hands, and Vivian had never seen her mentor so excited.
On the surveillance screen, in the deadly high temperature air, Dr. Serizawa, who touched Raton's body with his own hands, danced forehand, just like a satisfied child.
And the mysterious Dr. Merlin stood beside him, posing with a thumbs up at Dr. Serizawa.
