24. Blood, Bone, and Flesh(1/3)
In the early morning, the lawn was still stained with dew.
In a park in Queens, Riven is sitting on a bench.
The quiet girl in her hand was holding a book, pushing the round-frame glasses on her face from time to time, as if she was immersed in quiet reading.
A lazy big orange cat squatted beside her, with its tail shaking.
It narrowed its eyes and sat on the seat, not very interested in everything around it.
At Riven's feet, there was a dog wearing a small blue suit.
Frank is very active.
It sticks out its tongue and looks a little tired.
After all, it had just run around the park, had a fight with two huskys, and won easily.
But it's very tiring to keep screaming at the top of my voice.
For months after Merlin left, Riven was taking care of two pets at home.
As long as she doesn't go out, she will take these two live treasures around her home every morning, just to take a walk to relieve boredom.
When you go home with a walk every day, you will also buy some breakfast for your younger brothers and sisters.
Although the house on Hell Kitchen has been rebuilt, these children rarely go back to live.
After losing the most important member of the family, it is just a house and it is no longer a home.
"Riwen,Riwen"
The sound that came from a dream made Raven yawn.
The magic book in her hand was blown by the wind and turned over a page. The movement also made Raven open her eyes in a trance.
In the morning light and shadow that was beating in front of her eyes, a layer of mist was shrouded around, and the woman in a windbreaker was standing in the slightly cold mist.
She put her hands in her pockets, not knowing when it appeared.
Riven looked around and saw that the orange cat Gugu beside her and the stupid dog Frank beside her were as dull as a sculpture.
This is obviously abnormal.
She looked up at the woman.
She asked.
"Is this a dream?"
"Just a simple dream-entry technique."
Zatanna wears a hat that often appears in detective movies, and she uses it to cover nearly one-third of her face.
She said to Raven:
"I have no malice, you don't need to be too nervous. I'm here to convey a message."
"What news?"
Riven reached out to hold the frame of her glasses, staring at the woman in front of her, trying to see her identity from the cheeks covered by the hat.
The girl was still sitting on the park bench with a calm expression on her face and not too panic.
The situation in front of you is useless to panic.
For a guy who can dream at will, if she wants to attack you, you will definitely not be able to avoid it before being hit.
"Your brother is back."
Zatanna stood in front of Riven. The wind in the dream blew the corners of her clothes and long hair. In the low wind, she said to Riven in a gentle voice:
"In 3 days, he will meet you at the border of Hell."
“Merlin?”
Riven's pupils magnified slightly at that moment.
It can be seen that the girl tried her best to maintain her calmness, but her tight fingers and changing expression still exposed her mood at this moment.
But Ruiwen quickly calmed down, as if the incident happened before her was already expected.
It always happens, just sooner or later.
"These three days are reserved for you to prepare."
A few seconds later, Zatanna said to Raven:
"If you want to bring a few ordinary people into the border of hell, then you have to hurry up and prepare some protective measures for them."
"And Merlin's situation is special at this time. You'd better not bring anyone else to you except your family."
Ruiwen nodded, indicating that she could understand.
A few seconds later, she asked:
"He is seeking some form of resurrection, right?"
"You're smart."
Zatanna nodded slightly, and she said:
"This is my second purpose, give me the key to the mysterious house that your brother gave you."
"If you are lucky enough, then in 3 days you will see a truly complete Merlin."
"Swish"
Without any hesitation, Riven threw the quaint key hanging from her belt to Zatanna.
She stood up and looked at the woman in front of her.
She said:
"I can guess that my brother was not dead, but I have a question. He probably didn't wake up in the past few days. Why didn't he come to us?"
"well"
Zatanna also expected that Riven would definitely ask this question.
She held the key and said to Raven:
"Your brother split his soul to protect himself. The ceremony was cruel and painful. There would be many strange phenomena in the soul after the split. Some other things happened. His bad situation worsened."
"Riwen, you have been having a hard time in the past seven months, but believe me, your brother will only suffer more in the past few months."
"He doesn't see you because he doesn't want you to see another him, and in his words, he doesn't want you to see a monster that is sinking."
"You are the ones he cares about the most and loves the most. You are his pillars. Everything he does is to meet you again."
"Listen to me, kid, don't resent him."
"We don't have no resentment."
Ruiwen pursed her lips and said to Zatanna:
"3 days, right?"
“We will wait patiently.”
"Um."
Zatanna nodded, she waved her hand, and the dream in front of Riven's eyes shattered.
Zatanna waved her hand at Riven, then turned around and disappeared into the light and shadow that was beating like glass.
The next moment, Riven, who was leaning on the bench, opened her eyes.
She ignored the pages of the book that were constantly being impulsed by the wind in her hand, then took a deep breath, stood up, put away the book dictionary, and moved her arms again.
The wind blew Raven's long hair, and the naughty hair slapped her cheek.
The quiet girl reached out to push her hair away, bent down, and hugged the sleepy Gugu in her arms.
She said to Frank under her feet again:
"Let's go, Frank, go home."
"Riwen, you're smiling!"
The silly dog tugged his short legs and chased after Riven. It raised its head and looked at Riven. It said:
"I haven't seen you smile for a long time. Is there anything good?"
"It's a good thing."
Riven looked down at Frank, a bright smile that rarely appeared on her face, she said:
"Stop asking, you'll know soon."
—
"Bang"
The sound of the door being pushed open rang in the hall of the mysterious house. Xuan Lan, who was working on the wall murals, turned around in surprise.
