Chapter 31: Troll's Claw

Qin Lun felt exhausted when he dragged Mastasha to climb ashore. Although this swamp did not entangle them with water-bound spirits, the lake seemed to have a magic power to absorb their energy. It was only a few hundred meters away, and it was like a trekking hundreds of kilometers.

"Sand?" Qin Lun lay on the shore, adjusting his breathing, and accidentally grabbed the soil under him, only to find that the land here was not muddy, but drizzled fine sand with one hand.

"Let's go!" Mastasha rested for a while, but instead recovered before him, and reached out to pull him up.

"Is this?" The two looked up and looked ahead, with a hint of joy on their faces. The Highland Elves said nothing wrong. They did reach the entrance of the canyon in the south where the Troll's Claw was deep in the land of death.

A steep wall stood in front of them like a city wall, and the long-lost moss plants climbed the mountain wall. Although the black rocks on the mountain wall were shocking, compared to the sound of paddling behind them that seemed like death, it seemed so amiable at this moment.

"Where is the entrance?" Qin Lun and Mastaxia rushed two steps and caught up with everyone in front.

"That's not the entrance to the canyon, right? I think it's so cunning!" Veni pulled Rick's arm, frowned and murmured.

Qin Lun looked at it carefully and hesitated, because the entrance in front of them did not look like a good place. It was said to be the entrance, but in fact it was a conical crack on the mountain wall that was narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. It was only one meter five meters high and less than half a meter wide, and could only accommodate one person in and out, and it was so dark inside that it was not visible to see five fingers.

"Maybe this is the nest of some kind of monster, and it has nothing to do with the entrance to the canyon. Otherwise, let's look for the real entrance along both ends of the mountain wall?" Lago suggested hesitantly.

Listening to the sound of paddling closer and closer, Qin Lun couldn't help but look back, his face suddenly faded, and he shouted loudly: "It's too late, go in quickly, the ghost-faced squid is here."

Everyone looked at each other and smiled bitterly. This giant ocean beast was really stunningly determined. He had swam ashore and was still persevering. There was no way. Even if there was a beast cave in front of them, they could only go in and hide first, hoping that the space inside was large enough to accommodate so many of them.

At least from the size of the entrance, even if there are monsters inside, it should be easier to deal with than the giant beast behind him.

Rick took the lead, bent down with his sword and walked into the crack in the mountain wall. Rand followed in the second, with a tiny ray of flame rising from his fingers, and he needed to illuminate the front for the Knight. Winnie could no longer maintain the light technique, so she had to support herself like this.

After entering the crack, everyone found that although it was narrow, it seemed very deep. Although the ground was rugged and there were sharp rocks everywhere, it was really winding and winding towards the mountains.

"Aowu~" Everyone walked not far from the cracks in the cliff, and there was a slight roar of unwillingness behind them. It was obvious that the ghost-faced squid had finally arrived.

"Go to hell, haha!" Lago turned around and shouted loudly, a relaxed feeling of escaping from death spread across the team, and everyone couldn't help but laugh.

"It's a pity that our supplies were lost!" Winnie touched her shriveled belly, and a sense of fatigue arose. After she relaxed, she felt extremely hungry.

In fact, it was not just her, when everyone could not support Winnie's actions, and they sat down on the ground and rested.

"Haha, I have something to eat here!" Qin Lun flipped his hands and a piece of meat as thick as a gasoline barrel appeared in his arms. It was actually the ghost-faced squid tentacle that Rick had cut off.

"Haha, it can't eat us, now we're going to eat it!" Lago laughed, stood up, cleared the ground, and planned to build a grill with stones.

"It's a pity that there is no firewood here. Do you want to eat it raw?" Winnie looked around, looking regretful. The female mage's physical strength was exhausted. If she was usually not eating this kind of thing, she had to avoid meat and vegetables now.

"Let me do it!" Qin Lun handed the ghost-faced squid's tentacles to Rand and took out a brown plant seed from his arms. He looked around, pulled out a pile of fine soil from the rock peak, and buried the seeds inside.

As a layer of green light appeared in Qin Lun's palm, the seeds of the plant began to sprout and grow, and soon turned into a vine about one meter tall.

"Rand, it's your turn!" Qin Lun smiled and pointed at the plant.

The fireworks flipped their palms and controlled the hot flames to roast the plants into a ball of charcoal. Everyone helped to put the charcoal into the stone grill built by Lago, and soon a smell of meat spread out from the cracks on the cliff.

Even after falling off for a long time, the tentacles of the Ghost Face Squid were still very resistant to the flames. Fortunately, it was already half cooked and roasted for another half an hour and finally could be eaten.

"It's really unpalatable!" Winnie frowned and struggled to tear the cut pieces of meat. The tentacles of the ghost-faced squid tasted like rubber, full of toughness. As the body of a legendary creature, it didn't look delicious at all.

However, when it was eaten, everyone felt a stream of calories rising from their abdomen and their fatigue gradually disappeared. This thing indeed contained a lot of biological energy and was not poisonous. After eating a little bit, everyone was full.

The tentacles as big as gasoline barrels were left in the end. Qin Lun took it back to the storage space with satisfaction and smiled at Hill and Rand.

"Tip: Apostle No. 70053, you have collected an unincluded legendary creature information. The additional exploration level is less than 0.001%, and the cumulative settlement will be made after the return. The temporary settlement of the included items will be rewarded, and the remaining ghost-faced squid tentacles will be classified as the apostle recovery item."

Ghost Face Squid's Tentacle (Quality Legend): This is a top-quality recovery treasure made by barbecue of legendary creatures. It can restore 50% health and 70% energy value at the same time, and the on-acting time is five minutes (there are seven servings left). For the first time, this legendary food will permanently increase the Apostle's three physical fitness, a little strength and a little agility.

"I should have picked up some of it if I had known it!" Rand touched his belly and said with some regret.

This is the first time they have seen such a high percentage of recovered food, and they can also increase the value of five attributes at one time. The remaining seven portions of food are placed in the trading market, which obviously can make up for the loss of the "Meteor Descent" magic scroll.

"Haha, forget it, I saw it at that time. Except for the piece Qin Lun picked up, the other broken limbs were too large to put in the storage space at all." Hill patted Rand's shoulder and comforted.

After eating and drinking, everyone recovered a little, but no one planned to continue leaving. Lago inspected the area responsibly and placed some small traps around, which regarded this place as a temporary camp.

The crack in this cliff looks very deep. Although it may be the entrance to the canyon, no one can guarantee that there will be any danger inside. It is obviously not suitable for rushing around and resting for a night before making plans.

As everyone fell asleep tiredly, calmness returned to the crack. A faint moonlight reflected in the lake in the distance, and the surroundings seemed peaceful and quiet. The previous journey of death seemed to have never happened. Now I think it feels like a dream.

There was nothing to say all night. When Qin Lun opened his eyes again, a bright ray of light made him squint his eyes. After dawn, he realized that the distance they entered the crack last night was not too far, and he could still hear the sound of waves from the lake in the distance.

"Are you awake?" A pair of women's leather boots appeared in front of Qin Lun, but it was covered with mud and could no longer see the original color.

Qin Lun looked up and found that the person in front of him was Mastasha, the highland elf, and immediately asked with a smile: "Your health is better, right?"

"It's okay. The squid meat piece I ate last night seems to have a detoxification effect!" Mastasha replied happily, pointing to the top of the heads of the two of them, "Look at it!"

Qin Lun narrowed his eyes and looked up. He could not see anything except the hideous rocks, so he couldn't help but spread his hands towards Mastaxia.

"Forget it, I knew you were a rookie for a long time!" The highland elf curled his lips and explained to himself, "I just checked around. It seems that this place is not a cave, but a canyon crack between two cliffs."

"So, have we found the right place?" Qin Lun's eyes lit up. In fact, everyone was in a hurry last night and just regarded this place as a refuge to avoid the pursuit of ghost-faced squids. Unexpectedly, it was really the entrance to the canyon of the Troll's Claws.

"Well, I've only heard of the entrance to the canyon of the Troll's Claws inside the Land of Death, but I didn't expect it to be like this." Mastasha muttered, "I really don't know how the troll tribes in the mountains enter and exit the Land of Death through here."

"Maybe there is a larger entrance around the beach!" Qin Lun said uncertainly, "By the way, you just said that the troll tribe will often enter and exit the land of death... Then aren't they afraid of the hunting of ghost-faced squids?"

"I don't know this. The ghost-faced squid has a high level of wisdom. If the trolls can often provide some sacrifices to it, it is estimated that the two sides can reach a certain agreement!" Mastasha tilted her head and thought for a while, giving an ambiguous reason.

As the two of them talked, everyone woke up one after another, wiped their hazy eyes and looked at them.

"Next, should we continue to move forward or go back to the beach and look for other entrances!" Rick stretched his muscles and asked at the two of them.

"Continue to move forward. Mastasha said that this is a crack between two cliffs, and maybe you can enter the mountains." Qin Lun pondered for a while, then said, "It would be too dangerous if you go out and look for it again. The ghost-faced squid suffered such a great loss, maybe you will still stay nearby."

"Okay!" Rick shrugged, and he asked, thinking of the thrilling danger last night. Even with his courage, he would not want to face the giant again.

After recovering some energy, everyone set out to head into the crack. Mastasha was right. This crack was indeed not a cave. It was too deep inside. Although it was extremely narrow outside, after walking for a while, everyone found that the road ahead had become wider.

Most importantly, Winnie no longer had to maintain the light technique. As the road widened, there was no blocking rock above everyone's heads. For the first time in so many days, a ray of warm sunlight fell on their shoulders.
