Chapter 936 International Naval Academy

On the north shore of Galway Bay, 17 kilometers away from Galway, the capital of Galway County, there is a modern naval base. During the Kingdom of Ireland, it was the largest submarine training, supply and maintenance base for the Irish Navy on the West Coast. The famous Royal Irish Submarine Academy was born here.

One day in midsummer in 1947, His Majesty Joachim I, the king of the new United Kingdom, came here with his admirals to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Galway International Naval Academy and the first student opening ceremony. Although the scorching sun burned the earth, the cool sea breeze from the Atlantic Ocean allowed people to stay outdoors. On the playground of the college, 240 young people from 8 different countries, including the New United Kingdom, Soviet Russia, Spain, Sweden, Greece, the United States, Argentina, and China, were dressed in a clean and white school.

The staff uniforms are filled with confidence and pride on their faces. Everyone standing here has passed layers of selection and fierce competition, and is the best and lucky among their peers; everyone standing here comes with the ambition to learn from the best skills and serve the motherland. They will receive 12 months of high-level courses and high-intensity training here, explore the secrets of the Irish Navy from an unknown junior to a domineering ocean and laughing at the great powers, and appreciate the essence of the development of naval technology and the evolution of practical strategies...

The Royal Ireland Submarine Academy has moved to Dublin, where technical conditions are more complete, and has been renamed the Royal United Kingdom Submarine Academy. The school buildings, docks and docks it left behind constitute the main body of the International Naval Academy. In order to carry out courses, the New United Kingdom Navy has allocated several ships and aircraft from the active sequence and sealed ranks to provide them to the International Naval Academy, including the I-40 carrier-based radar early warning aircraft that became famous after the Philippines Battle and the experimental underwater high-speed submarine UH-1 of the New United Kingdom Navy.

In the joint maritime exercise between the Soviet-New United Kingdom, the K-class underwater high-speed submarine is one of the few highlights of the northern fleet of the Soviet Navy. The Russians' mastery and application of closed-circular reciprocating engine technology is even ahead of Germany, the world's largest naval power. The reason for this contrast is not that the German ship design concept or shipbuilding engineering technology lags behind, but that the national naval warfare strategic thinking is intuitively reflected in the current focus of the development of the German naval naval is sea-built ships, that is, aircraft carriers and multi-purpose surface ships. While all countries are still using piston carrier-based aircraft, they have realized the practicality of jet carrier-based aircraft.

The Soviet Navy's closed-circular reciprocating engine technology originated from Italy, a traditional naval power in Southern Europe, but Italy is not the real leader in this field. As early as 1938, the United States and Ireland signed a project to jointly develop underwater high-speed submarines. In 1941, the project moved from theoretical research to practical stage, and the United States quickly built a 200-ton experimental submarine. In 1943, based on a large number of tests, the United States and Ireland cooperated to design a defensive underwater high-speed submarine with a standard displacement of 1,400 tons and a 3,200 tons ocean-type underwater high-speed submarine.

Boats, both submarines were included in the active service sequence of the two navies in the spring of 1945. During the Battle of the Philippines, the U.S. Navy dispatched 9 underwater high-speed submarines and Ireland dispatched 4 to the war. These underwater high-speed submarines achieved a total of 33 Japanese ships. Among them, the most dazzling star was the U.S. Navy's "Sea Monster", which created an impressive record of sinking 3 enemy ships and 2 warships in the northern waters of Luzon Island, sending nearly 20,000 tons of combat materials and more than 600 seafarers into the seabed. In terms of actual combat achievements, the United States and the New United Kingdom are the pioneers of the current development of AIP's prototype technology...

Up on the viewing platform in front of the playground, his eyes swept over the 240 cadets with their heads raised, and the eastern Kong of them made Nakashu full of emotion. This International Naval Academy is positioned as a senior military academy for active-duty officers from all countries to study. Registerers must have basic naval qualities at the non-commissioned level. This is not difficult for any country with a naval force, except the Chinese are the exception. The New United Kingdom has not recognized the puppet regime supported by Japan, nor has it established diplomatic relations with it, and it is even more impossible to accept their naval personnel to study. Therefore, all Chinese cadets accepted by the International Naval Academy come from the Chinese military and civilians who entered the Russian territory during the strategic retreat and remained there until now.

There are also capable personnel selected by the Soviet regime rooted in Northeast China. Among the dozens of people participating in the screening, only 9 people had worked in the navy before, and only 6 people had the qualifications to join the military to meet the non-commissioned officer standards. In other words, except for the 6 people who truly meet the registration requirements, the rest were qualified for selection only after receiving special care. Under the special care of Xia Shu, these oriental men, with weak military foundation or even no foundation, have achieved the skills that ordinary people need to master in less than two months with their unimaginable perseverance. It can be said that the 25 Chinese people standing here at this moment are not inferior to their peers in other aspects, except for the lack of language and experience!

"Young men, welcome you to the New United Kingdom and to the Galway International Naval Academy. In the next year, we will train you according to the standards of cultivating New United Kingdom Naval Officers. If you cannot adapt to the learning rhythm or living environment here, or quit for other reasons, I personally regret that you have missed an opportunity to become a top professional officer. After completing all the courses and passing the assessment, I can guarantee that you will become the pride of your respective countries, because your military literacy, thinking habits, and vision will all reach world-class standards!"

Standing in front of the microphone, Xia Shu first made this simple and wonderful speech in English, and then he expressed it in Spanish, and these two languages were enough to make more than half of the students present understand his meaning. After that, he paused for a moment and said it in the once extremely familiar Chinese language, with a straight and full of energy.

Before he finished speaking, there was a lot of surprise, especially those eastern faces, who had widened their eyes and could not believe their ears. This European monarch, who was named "European God of War" and "Hohenzollern Genius" and other series of brilliant titles, could actually speak such a pure and fluent Chinese!

Finally, the summer tree added an extra paragraph: "The country is broken, the mountains and rivers are there, the city is spring, the grass and trees are deep; when you feel the flowers shed tears, the birds are frightened by the birds; the war is fired for three months, and the letters of the family are worth ten thousand gold; the white hair is even shorter, and you can't stand the hairpin... You have a long way to go, please do not let down the expectations of the Chinese people!"

The 25 Chinese men have different body shapes, accents and even beliefs, but at this moment, all of them have tears in their eyes.

After the opening ceremony, 240 students began to study in classes. Unlike the conventional advanced military academy, the International Naval Academy established in accordance with the requirements of friendly countries only had three majors, namely surface ship command, underwater ship command, and naval aviation command. The reason why Xia Shu dared to claim that the college graduates could become top professional officers was due to the outstanding performance of the Irish Navy in previous wars, especially in World War II and the recent battles between the United States, Japan and the Philippines, where they showed their strength to convince the whole world.

Generally speaking, each country will establish the strategic positioning of the navy based on its respective geopolitical conditions and defense strategies. For example, the US Navy defends east and west attacks. If they want to protect overseas interests in the vast Pacific, they will inevitably put the development of naval aviation first. Therefore, American cadets choose HNA major. The Soviet Navy mainly focuses on defense. Since the "Kirov" sinks, it has shifted the naval center of gravity from surface ships to underwater ships and naval aviation, so Russian cadets tend to have two majors: underwater ship command and HNA. The Argentine Navy is committed to maintaining their dominant position on the east coast of South America, so most of their cadets have entered the surface ship command major. The only group of specialists

What embarrassed the career choice was those students from China. At this time, no matter whether it was the Chiang regime located in the northwest or the Soviet regime based in the northeast, there was no real naval existence. Although the puppet regime supported by Japan had a strong navy, their ships were basically the goods that the Japanese had eliminated. In addition, the officers and sailors were of low quality, so they could only be competent for offshore patrols and inspection guards. Therefore, for Chinese students, no matter which one was selected from the three major majors of surface ship command, underwater ship command and HNA command, it was of no practical significance at present. Even after they finished their studies, they did not know how to serve the country...

These Chinese students went through a lot of hardships to enter the International Naval Academy. With the precious opportunity to learn and discuss advanced technical and tactical ideas with elites from all over the world, Xia Shu naturally had to secretly guide them. Among the 25 people, the six born in the military academy class had learned earlier, all of which were surface ships' operation and command, either mainly artillery techniques or good at lightning strikes. Although the remaining 19 people were not military academy students, they all had a higher level of education. In order to make them do their best, Xia Shu initially formulated a professional plan based on their own self-reported materials, and then assigned his attendant to interview each person with senior instructors of the Naval Academy. By this, the adjustment plan was finalized. After Xia Shu reviewed, the final decision was made to 16 people learn surface ship command, 5 people learn underwater ship command, and 4 people learn HNA command.
