Chapter 1046 Hasal's Purpose

Top floor of the hotel

Yang Chen and Prince Hasar were drinking while reminiscing about the past.

As the saying goes, not seeing each other for a day is like three autumns apart.

For Prince Hassar, the simple Three Autumn Period is not enough to express his views on Yang Chen. In recent years, the Yang family consortium has flourished day by day, making people more and more surprising.

In comparison, he was like this and now, without any change.

Of course, if Yang Chen had chosen, he actually hoped to live a life like Prince Hasar, with oil at home and no worries about food and clothing for the rest of his life.

In my spare time, I travel around the world with my wife and children if I have something to do. I live a free and colorful life...

Then, like him now, with the growth of the Yang family consortium, he can't stop even if he wants to stop.

This is like the yellow robe of Song Taizu, sometimes it is not a question of whether you want to or not, but you have to do something.

Even if you don’t do it and you don’t want to, someone will force you and push you forward.

In the words of the richest man in later generations, what he regrets most in his life is that he founded Alibaba. The larger the scale and influence of Alibaba, the greater the responsibility and the greater the pressure he needs to bear.

Yang Chen also has this idea now, but it is absolutely impossible for you to ask him to stop. After enjoying some things, you will not want to lose them again.

Absolute wealth is equivalent to absolute rights. When a person's wealth reaches a certain level, wealth can be converted into rights.

A big country like the landlocked and the United States will definitely not let him do whatever he wants, but other countries, some small and medium-sized countries, with enough wealth, it is not difficult for him to do whatever he wants.

No one can resist the attraction of wealth and rights. The so-called lack of desire and demand is just like men and women who have no requirements for choosing a partner. The less demanded, the higher the requirements.

"Yang, I heard that you have a telephone company."

"Press?" Yang Chen looked up at Prince Hasar and asked, "Prince, you invited me here this time. Isn't it because you are interested in the telecommunications industry?"

Prince Hassar did not deny it and nodded directly and said, "I'll tell you the truth, I'll invite you here for this."

Yang Chen frowned and said, "As far as I understand, Saudi Arabia has now introduced European GMS technology, while my phone company uses American CDMA technology."

Prince Hassar said: "Yang, I believe in your vision. Since you choose American CDMA, it means that CDMA must be better than GMS."

"Prince, thank you for your trust."

"However, CDMA has not been commercially available yet. If you are not in a hurry, please wait for the end of the year to see what the situation is?"

Prince Kasar said: "I'm afraid it won't work in time. Before the end of the year, the Saudi government will make a final decision on promoting GMS. If we wait until the end of the year to introduce CDMA technology, it may be too late."

Yang Chen: "What do you mean by that prince?"

Prince Hassar said: "We two jointly invested and formed the company in the shortest time to introduce CDMA technology. There is no need to lay too many base stations in the early stage. Just let the government see the advantages of CDMA."

"Yang, once the cdma technology is recognized, Saudi Arabia will vigorously promote the construction of domestic telecommunications networks in the next few years. Once it is successful, we can further obtain orders from the Middle East."

Before the 1950s and 1960s, Saudi Arabia was still in a feudal society. However, after discovering oil resources, foreign oil monopoly capital focused on building large modern industrial enterprises that exploit, refining, and transport oil in Saudi Arabia in order to develop Saudi oil resources, building railways, highways, ports and other transportation roads, etc.

In this way, the Saudi economy began to develop.

As the saying goes, if you want to be rich, build roads first.

From the early 1950s to the late 1960s, foreign companies built more than 4,000 kilometers of highways in Saudi Arabia. Objectively, this created prerequisites for Saudi Arabia to unify the domestic market and form a bourgeois and capitalist economy.

As foreign capital continues to open businesses in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi government, represented by the Saudi royal family, is also accelerating the process of nationalization of oil. With the oil crisis in the 1970s and 1980s, the Saudi government, whose pockets are increasingly thick, has used the huge income obtained from oil to start state-owned enterprises.

In addition to the royal family, there are also some famous families who have been associated with the royal family, as well as people who are business-minded and able to build relationships, joining the business community. With the support and call of the government, these non-royal members have established private enterprises and become big capitalists.

As these big bourgeoisie emerged and grew up, the need for Saudi Arabia's modernization construction and the reward of petrodollars enabled a large number of intellectuals who received modern education and mastered professional knowledge and skills to enter what Western scholars call the "middle class".

This class includes middle and senior employees of the military and political department managers of the business department, engineering and technical personnel, cultural and educational departments, teachers of the health department, doctors, lawyers, etc.

After decades of development, although Saudi Arabia has not entered the ranks of developed countries, due to the exploitation of oil resources and the opening of various factories, Saudi Arabia has a population of 20 to 30 million. Those former farmers have now gradually transformed into enterprise workers.

The living standards of ordinary Saudi people are only higher than those of Southeast Asian countries. If they can participate in the construction of Saudi telecommunications network, it will naturally be a business that can make money but not lose money.

However, the only thing to consider is the Foreign Investment Regulations promulgated by Saudi Arabia in 1957, which prohibits foreign companies that do not absorb local capital from operating in Saudi Arabia.

This means that whenever foreign capital invests in Saudi Arabia, it is necessary to find a Saudi citizen partnership in Saudi Arabia.

At the same time, Saudi citizens in partnership should account for at least 51% of the total investment and their equity should not be less than 51%.

In addition, the proportion of Saudi employees and workers in all employees shall not be less than 75% of all employees, and a series of restrictions on foreign investment restrictions.

These are similar to the current inland policy of restricting foreign investment, and Saudi Arabia is even more strict in some aspects.

In the future, the inland government will relax restrictions on the share of foreign investment shares, and Saudi Arabia is too oppressed by foreign companies in the early stage, so that such restrictions will still be widespread decades later.

Therefore, there are still great restrictions on investment in Saudi Arabia, and even due to policy factors, foreign capital cannot undermine its partners.

Because the Saudi government has regulations that every foreign-funded enterprise recruits a certain proportion of Saudi citizens.

With these Saudi national employees, there is no way to talk about the undercurrent.
