Information 4 Introduction to Toyotomi Family

Toyotomi is the surname of Hideyoshi Kanshiba, who was granted the power during the Momoyama period of Anto.

At that time, the surnames of the nobles were from Hiratoshiki (Genji, Hiratoshi, Fujiwara, and Kirishiki) and the new surnames Sugawara, Kamo, and Oe, which could be compared with them. The court gave the surnames (original surnames) to the Toyotoshiki court in 1586. It is said that the surname "Toyotoshi" (とよととみ) was taken from the real name of Prince Hoshitoshi's real name "Toyotoshi'er (とよととみ).

Hideyoshi, who was born in a civilian family but did not have a group of retainers, gave strong retainers and the surnames of the Toyotomi Toyotomi and the Miao character of Hashiba, so that the daimyo would call themselves Toyotomi Ho Hashiba, achieving an effect similar to that of his own clan (in the Edo Shogun period, many daimyos were born in Tokugawa and Matsuhira, and the Toyotomi regime could be compared with it).

Later, during the process of the Tokugawa clan's hegemony, the daimyos who were originally given Toyotomi and Hashiba clan were allowed to abandon this surname. In the Edo period, the big names who took Toyotomi as their original surname were only the Kinoshita family of Mrs. Hideyoshi Kitamasato (Ningning). After the Meiji Restoration, the Kinoshita family had to use only one of the surnames and Miao characters. Now there are very few people who are surnamed Toyotomi. The Toyotomi clan's Toyotomi clan refers to the clan where Hideyoshi's brothers and sisters and their descendants are the people listed below:

The Toyotomi family in history

In fact, Hideyoshi only has a few relatives above. His younger brother Hidenaga is the lord of Yamato Gate Mountain Castle 1 million stones, his nephew Hideji is the lord of Hachiman City, and his nephew Hideji is the lord of Hachiman City, and his biological son Tsumatsu is originally scheduled to be the successor.

But between 1590 and 1591 and 1595, Xiuchang, Hesong, Xiusheng, and Xiubao, who inherited Xiuchang, all died one after another.

For this reason, Hideyoshi decided to use her nephew Hideji as her heir and gave Kanba the position to him in 1591. But Hideyoshi gave up

After the power position, it was also called Taihe, and still controlled the direct jurisdiction and military power of the Toyotomi family, which led to a conflict between the two regimes. Moreover, in 1593, Hideyoshi once again obtained the son Hiderai, which decided that the opposition between Hideyoshi and Hideji became even worse.

In 1595, Hideyoshi exiled Hideji to Takanoyama, and Hideji committed suicide by separatism. From then on, the second regime was eliminated, and the Toyotomi regime was once again reunited to Hideyoshi. In order to make the orthodox regime of the regime, Kan Bai's position completely disappeared from the Toyotomi family.

In 1598, Hideyoshi passed away, and he entrusted his funeral to several powerful daimyos. Tokugawa Ieyasu finally looked up and knocked down Daimyos, the Tokugawa regime and other Tokugawa regimes supported by Mitsunari Ishida and established hegemony. In 1603, Ieyasu took office as the General of the Seiyi, founded the Edo Shogunate, and passed the position of general to his son Hidetachi Tokugawa in 1605 to establish the orthodox regime of the Tokugawa regime, and the throne of the Tokugawa regime was completely lost.
