Some of Feng Hanyu's thoughts on "Song Feng"

Some book reviews by book friend "Feng Hanyu" on "Song Feng"

Below are some book reviews by Feng Hanyu book friends on the future story development of "Song Feng". I was moved by the remarks. Here I would like to thank all the book friends for their support and encouragement. I will do my best to contribute the full version of "Song Feng" to everyone and do my best to be exquisite. Each paragraph below is a book review. It may be a bit uncoherent for everyone to read, but I am still very grateful to the book friends who support "Song Feng":

Damn dividing line can't be typed, handwritten dividing, the text below is Brother Feng's post**************************************************************************

Of course, transporting grain is not as good as making money for luxury goods, but the premise is that everyone does not understand the importance of strategic resources. If you understand the relationship, it is not impossible, but it is completely possible. In the Song Dynasty, Shenzhou could already manufacture 5,000 materials, and often not many could transport 260 tons of goods. Starting from Laizhou, Shandong, crossing the Yellow Sea, it takes two days to reach Wengjin on the southwest coast of the Korean Peninsula. From Mingzhou to Bilanting on the west coast of North Korea, it can only reach 15. Although the Korean Peninsula is not a grain-producing area, luxury goods can definitely be exchanged for food. Anyway, it is not the people of the Song Dynasty who are hungry.

From Guangzhou, Quanzhou to Jiaozhi (now northern Vietnam), Chameng (now central and southern Vietnam), Zhenla (Cambodia), and Bagan (Myanmar) are all process routes, which can be reached in a short period of time, but these places do not make money, but produce grain, and can organize official fleet transportation, or even form naval transportation, which can not only exercise but also reserve strategic resources. The reason why there was no grain trade in the Song Dynasty was because it was indeed not profitable. Originally, the south was not short of food, and no matter how cheap it was, it was not as profitable as luxury goods. The route had been opened to span the Indian Ocean to East Africa. These nearby areas had stable routes during the Tang Dynasty, so there was no need to worry about route issues.

Of course there is a better way. The small countries around them admire the Central Plains culture. They can give nominal benefits or support agents to let the other party take the initiative to transport food to the Song Dynasty, without even spending money. In this regard, the strategy was often used in Britain, Japan, and the United States. Don’t think that changing food will inevitably cost money. Don’t forget that there is a path to plunder in the world. Capitalist expansion is not so clean, and the behavior of the state is more convenient. Holding the Analects of Confucius in one hand and the big stick in the other hand is the smartest. The Song Dynasty Navy provides protection and titles to the agents is not what they want. If it is a country, there will be conflicts, and if it is a person, there will be heart-to-heart talks, and there will be no worries about not being able to find an agent.

Equivalent exchange, merchants can do this, and the country will be stupid. Look at when the United States has exchanged equally with people. At that time, the status of the Song Dynasty was no worse than that of the United States now. It would be strange if the policy was set and it was not rich or strong. It can be said that there is a lot of room for maneuver. The way to make money in this world is not only a fair exchange, but also a robbery. Of course, the robbery here is not simply a strong one. It is wise to use means to make people take the initiative to give money. In the end, the other party also wrote "Co-prosperity" in the history books!

The creation technology of the Song Dynasty was also very advanced. Bamboo sails were much easier to lift and put down than Western cloth sails. Everything can be done on the deck by pulleys and ropes. Furthermore, bamboo poles can be used more or less; in strong winds, a boat can use only two bamboo poles to face the wind, but in a gentle breeze, the entire sail opens in the wind. This greatly strengthens the control of the ship. Another advantage of the sail of bamboo tendons is that even if half of the sails have holes, the ship can still sail. A Western cloth sail cannot be sailed with so many holes.

Moreover, these bamboo tendons make the Chinese sail tight, which is more efficient in aerodynamics. The swelling sails in the wind cause unnecessary vortex, thereby reducing the speed of the ship. In addition, large sea boats in the Southern Song Dynasty could carry tens of thousands of stones, with a depth of dozens of feet, several times larger than those in the Northern Song Dynasty. The watertight warehouse structure has long been realized. It can be driven by side wind. The protagonist wanted to invent the sextant, warp meter, gold compass, and standard drawing methods of sea charts. These principles are not difficult.

It is not impossible to rely on other countries in part on food, because the surrounding countries are too weak. If they are weak, the navy is weak and they are blocked by others at any time, of course it is impossible to rely on food imports. However, the shipbuilding technology of the Song Dynasty was top in the world, the army was also strong, and small countries around them were not threatened at all. There is also food reserve, so there is no need to worry about large reserves. If the problem cannot be solved in a few years, relying on the domestic grain production will be in vain. That period cannot be compared with now. The entire world is dominated by Song Dynasty, so there is no need to worry about the sea transportation being cut off. There is no need to worry about bullying or taking advantage of the situation in the surrounding grain production areas.

In addition, you can also send a fleet to explore the Americas and find high-yield crops such as corn. It is absolutely feasible to offer a large reward. If you are in a hurry, you don’t have to be limited to Chinese merchants. Just make an excuse to like to eat this, so someone will naturally send it. Of course, this is definitely not cost-effective. After all, there are gold mines, etc., which are also considered territorial expansion. Different historical periods, different external conditions are not feasible in the past, and it is not feasible in the present, which does not mean that it was not feasible at that time.

The efficiency of forming a navy to transport grain is definitely much higher than farming. The average grain output of a farmer in modern times is only about 500 kilograms. In the Song Dynasty, it was not that high. This was the annual output. If you transport sea, you can transport five or six tons per person at an average of 10 times. The loss is also 10 times faster. And you won’t only transport it once a year. The key is that you can’t spend money, exchange it for glass, or simply support agents to deliver goods to your door for free.

Wang Jinghui has always been unwilling to enter the court, but he is simply afraid of being hit by political struggles. The problem is that if you truly change history and save the fate of the Song Dynasty and even the Central Plains, you must ascend to a high position. The authority of the above-mentioned ranks will be used as the authority of the people. Just doing industrial development ideological education and other ideas among the people may be a bit of a blessing in thousands of years. To change the general trend of the world in the past hundred years, it is tantamount to seeking fish in a tree, and he has to do it in order to marry a princess.

However, this can actually be viewed in the opposite direction. Although the political struggle in the Northern Song Dynasty was very fierce, it was the smallest in terms of lethality, and there were very few incidents, mostly demoted to other places. If Wang Jinghui married the princess of Shu, and his character as Shenzong and his love for the princess, would the princess still let the princess suffer with Wang Jinghui to Hainan Island? No matter what, as long as Wang Jinghui was either rebellious, he would be very deposed for the people and restored to his original form. Anyway, he was not very keen on power, and was both rich and noble, and was happy to live a free life. Therefore, Wang Jinghui is now focused on marrying the princess and then boldly doing it, and there is nothing to be afraid of.

Another problem that cannot be understood is that Wang Jinghui, who is familiar with history, can't think of a way to use the cauldron to remove firewood? The disaster of the Northern Song Dynasty was Wang Anshi. As long as Wang Anshi was killed before he became a disaster, I dare not say anything else, so that the people could live a few decades of peace and allow the Northern Song Dynasty to last for decades. This is simply a huge profit. Yu Gong can be said to be a way to eliminate harm for the country and also to eliminate disasters for the famous ministers in the court in the future. For private matters, Wang Anshi is not a good person. He only sees his confidants, including his son, either a traitor or a villain. If you say that his character is not inferior, don't joke.

In the Song Dynasty, you could buy about 100 kilograms of grain for one tael of silver (the rice price in the early Northern Song Dynasty was about 300 to 600 kilograms per stone), and 59.2 kilograms of rice per stone. It is absolutely fine to run to Vietnam with a glass cup to exchange for a ship of grain. The consideration of the rise is definitely not whether it is worth it or not, but whether it likes it or not. Even today, the same is true. Glass did not have much effect on the strength of the country in that era. Of course, it would be a big difference to eliminate the development of science and technology. It would only be a big difference to change it to food. It would just turn neighboring countries into colonies of the Song Dynasty. There is no need to bear any responsibility, and there is no need to consider disasters, turmoil and resistance. There is no prosperity there.

Yes, a person's character can be best seen from the people around him. If he is really upright, the people around him will not be much inferior. He is no longer noble, and he is surrounded by villains. It is okay to deceive the ignorant little emperor. However, Wang Anshi is finished and this book is not easy to write. Let's first propose to establish the Independent Commission Against Corruption Office:) Be directly responsible for the emperor.

Basically, reforms need to hit the interests of some people, and the difficulty of reforms lies in this. It is much easier to find a way that does not affect the interests of others, or even lets everyone share their interests, and it is faster to pass them. Of course, it is much better than reforms involving the interests of the people within the country. When interest groups are formed, it is impossible to change back to the previous way. Therefore, the interests of this trade will benefit everyone from the emperor to the people, and of course, in fact, it can also be done. The patrons' majesty and the way of delivering things is of course no one supports. The real interests are more powerful than any major principle. You can understand it by referring to the methods of reform and opening up in China. Of course, the premise of all this is to change the backward statistical methods and speak with numbers.

The best way to change history is not how great a person has to be able to achieve a path to happiness in life. Therefore, it is not necessary for a specific official position to solve problems. Temptation is always more powerful than reasoning. God has not used heaven to tempt you. Speaking of which, the devil is more realistic and can immediately realize the benefits. You can be invincible by adopting both. It is not so easy for you to create a high-yield seed. It is not as easy as everyone's development of trade for so many years. It brings too many benefits, and it will gradually liberate your mind and not be trapped in the whole place.

The text above is Brother Feng’s post**********************************************************************************

The above is my compilation and paste of Feng Hanyu’s book reviews. The content is very rich and very high-quality. Some of the views are also very good and inspiring for my future writing. There are also other book friends’ questions about "Song Feng" in these book reviews. I will reply here in a concentrated manner.

First, why Wang Jinghui didn't kill Wang Anshi before he was launched. Many book friends think that I demonized Wang Anshi in writing. What Ji Nian wants to say is: Wang Anshi's first starting point in reform is good, Ji Nian is by no means demonized Wang Anshi. Ji Nian admires Wang Anshi's literary level and achievements very much, and history also gave a fair evaluation of his contribution to literature. The only thing that Wang Anshi was criticized was his political issues. Ji Nian thought he was a great writer, but he was definitely not an excellent politician. In fact, there were only a few emperors and ministers in ancient China who could be called "a capable politician". Wang Anshi definitely did not belong to this rank. First, he lacked the mind of a politician; second, he lacked the patience and concession of politicians, and he emphasized in political means.

"Power" and "suppression" means that if the emperor does what he does, he will be called a tyrant by historians, not to mention that he is a subject who relies on the emperor's power, the consequences can be imagined; third, he lacks the foresight of a politician; fourth, his most fatal point - the ability of an unconscious person, a large number of speculators and treacherous ministers were promoted by him. Wang Anshi has many shortcomings, and these shortcomings have caused his inevitable political failure. I personally think that Wang Anshi is a Song Dynasty version of Jing Ke. He has achieved his heroic ideology, but a political failure. Although Wang Anshi has one or another shortcomings, he is still respected: he carries the people and the country! With this, Wang Jinghui cannot kill him, let alone kill Wang Anshi, how can he arrange the future chapters?!

Second, regarding the food issue, history textbooks clearly state that during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the yield of rice per mu in Jiangnan was about 180 kilograms, and the level of the Song Dynasty was probably the same as that of the Ming Dynasty. In ancient history, I am afraid that China's farming level was the best in the world. I think the protagonist was just a doctor. He was not yet at this level to be Yuan Longping of the Song Dynasty, but Wang Jinghui would also have certain actions in agriculture. After all, food is the most important thing for people. If the problem of eating cannot be solved, nothing will be used. However, book friends proposed to go to the Americas to find corn and other drought-resistant and high-yield crops. It was not that they would not want to ask the protagonist to find it, but this matter is not an easy task. This is very unrealistic and was basically rejected by the quasi-recitation.

Third, in Brother Feng’s book review, he suggested that Wang Jinghui influence the decision-making of the Song Dynasty and regard other small countries such as Vietnam as colonies of the Song Dynasty. I personally think: this idea is good, but the difficulty of successfully operating is too great. Not to mention that those Confucian scholars hold Confucius’ "benevolence and righteousness" to keep their feet on Confucius, military actions are very difficult, because they fought with Vietnam during the reign of Emperor Shenzong, which made the dust. In addition, there were many malaria in the south, which was not conducive to military operations. It was really not easy to turn the surrounding small countries into colonies.

Fourth, regarding the issue of corruption. Taizu Zhao Kuangyin made an oath not to kill the scholars and officials, which brought great difficulties to the anti-corruption work of the Song Dynasty. Even Ayue had not solved this problem, so it was even more difficult for me to deal with it. However, ignoring the truth would not make it easier for those corrupt officials.
Chapter completed!
