Chapter 326 Mysterious Rock Paintings

"What an amazing place!"

I touched the mottled traces on the wall and was amazed in my mouth.

In this cave, I saw continuous murals on the rock walls. Most of these rock paintings were painted in red, with bright color of the pigment. The obvious red proved that they contained more iron. They should be made of hematite powder in the open pit, blending cow blood and other mixtures, which made this stable and lasting effect.

The lines of the drawing are thick and thin, some are drawn with fingers dipped in pigment, and the painter's clear fingerprints remain at the pauses and turns. Some larger figures may also be painted with feathers or other tools, with straight silk traces between the lines.

After estimating, the part I can see in this flat rock surface is 14 meters long and more than 9 meters high. The entire area is about 120 square meters, about 10 meters away from the ground. There are more than 200 characters and animals of different sizes and shapes on it. Among them, the figure is the most delicate. The largest figure is two meters and the smallest is only 10 cm.

The expression techniques of this rock painting are ancient and unique. Although the characters do not express their facial features, they can express vivid movements, postures and emotions through the positions of their limbs.

In addition to humans, there are many animals in the picture. However, the animals drawn only focus on portraying characteristic parts such as horns, tails, ears and other characteristics - strangely, the characteristics of these animals are obviously not in line with the appearance of any existing animals in the wasteland. Are these painters drawing any special fantasy animals?

Indeed, in the primitive era, people would create some fantasy animals. The causes of this behavior are complicated, and this product is called gods, demons, ghosts, monsters, monsters, immortals, giants, elves, etc. It is because in the era when humans beat each other naked with wooden sticks, we have begun to record the power we have mastered and respect all kinds of unknown forces.

Prehistoric relics unearthed around the world can see signs of the existence of various fantasy products on murals, stone carvings, pottery and other remains. These obviously unrealistic objects may be reflecting some special emotions in abstract forms.

Some of these animals have winding and forked antlers, sharp and thin striped snake tails, some are wrapped in fine fish scales, wriggling tree vines, some have furry tentacles, hoof-like limbs, and some have exaggerated bird wings and spindle-like bodies.

...The imagination of these primitive people is really amazing. If I hadn't seen only sand lizards, wolf spiders, wild sheep, camels, cheetahs, and lions on the wasteland, I would have thought they were living in a strange hell full of monsters.

I was fascinated by the rock paintings, slowly delving into the cave with the glimmer of torches, hoping to restore the environment where these primitive creators were in that year through these bizarre images. I was surprised to find that these primitive people were painting and recording hunting activities with a detailed attitude, fighting against the wild beasts they fantasized.

This can also be understood. For example, in the legend of the Vikings, there are stories about pirates killing beasts as big as a hill and drinking so many good wines in the lake. In fact, they may have just hunted a pig, and after drinking two glasses of wine, they began to brag everywhere.

Can the things that happened to the ancients be called bragging?

Although the rock paintings near the cave are clearly visible, they will inevitably be weathered and peeled off due to wind and sun exposure, fading and damaged. Only the rock paintings near the depths of the cave can remain close to the original production.

But when I was strolling in the cave and felt that the details of the huge rock painting became more and more clear, I saw an unfinished hunting picture.

There is an unfinished hunting rock painting on the upper part of this scattered rock wall, which only completed the production of the head and neck of the strange animal, while the body, abdomen and limbs only outline the sketch with sparse chiseling points, which is obviously a semi-finished product.

The procedure that should have been completed should be to continue to be as follows the sketches as the animal's head and neck, and to continuously chisel the sparse chiseling points into the through visceral grooves according to the sketch, and then outline and color them one by one.

I touched the rough rock wall surface with my fingers, connected the chiseled points one by one, and imagined the appearance of the whole picture in my mind, but the outlined patterns were completely different from any animal I had ever seen.

This frustrated me. My imagination was actually lost to these primitive people who painted on the rock walls. This is as funny and natural as a doctor of linguistics who is proficient in ten languages, and still cannot understand the pictographic characters of primitive people.

Based on my barren imagination, the outlined figure is like a towering strange tree, with many branches and leaves growing upwards, poking straight into the sky, but with a round and curved arc that the branches cannot exist. The animal's body solidifies but has no regular shape, like a huge clump, with obvious depressions in the middle of the body, which seems to be the position of its mouth. The only thing that can tell the identity of the animal is that the three hooves under its body stand in the land like a large tripod.

Just next to this huge weird creature, like other hunting pictures, there is a humanoid pattern with a line of up to two meters high. It seems to twist its waist and punch to suppress the monster, and then accompanied by about thirty small humanoids, jumping around with spears.

This is also a common painting style used by primitive people. Larger patterns represent big figures such as leaders, sacrifices, and warriors, and small patterns describe ordinary people.

Unfortunately, this rock painting, which is significantly more exquisite than the cave entrance, is already the most impressive sound of this ruins.

Going further inside, I observed for a long time and found that the primitive man had applied some paint on the wall, and used rough lines to depict the characters' limbs and heads. Not only did he not improve his painting skills, he even regressed to the level of a soul painter.

Moreover, there were only villains in this area, and no large portrait was seen. These little red people twisted their hands and feet and were tilted around, no longer as lively as before in groups hunting, but seemed to be running around in scattered areas.

But directly above the rock wall, there was a large scattered rock moss growing. The shadow-covered ring area seemed to be a large indescribable haze. The rock surface seemed to be rusted, all brown-red, with no other characteristics except for dense spherical protrusions. Combined with the little man below the ring-shaped haze, it seemed that it just floated in the sky without any vitality, but exuded an overwhelming aura, like rolling muffled thunder, and shockedly starring in a silent picture of destruction.

Further inside, there were only empty walls and gray-black rocks. The exquisite paintings came to an abrupt end, leaving a huge blank space.

If it is the appropriate blank space in Chinese painting, it will prevent the picture from being blocked or stagnant, as if the spiritual energy of heaven and earth freely travels in it, filled with the painter's endless ethereal style and spirit, as well as the vast and boundless sense of universe space.

However, the strange patterns and animals on the rock painting seemed to have come alive because of the blank space, and began to rush and jump on the cliff, twisting and shouting, recreating the chaotic scenes that were countless years ago.

And the last glance before the destruction.
