【Taiwan gangsters manipulate debt collection】

Taiwan's economy is in a downturn, and disputes arising from private lending are emerging one after another, and debt collection companies have emerged. Although these debt collection companies are registered legal companies, most of them have gangster backgrounds and most of them involve violence. This not only makes decent debt collection companies complain, but the authorities dare not or are willing to take care of them, forming a very special Taiwanese social scene.

Ninety percent of the gang manipulated by debt collection companies

In the early days, there were also "debt-collection companies", but these companies were often the halls of a certain gang, doing usury activities and chasing their own company's debts, which is an underground bank that the public understands.

The methods used by these debt collection companies are the same. As long as the debtor does not pay back the money, gang members will face each other violently. Now they obtain a profit-making business registration certificate from the Taiwan authorities. In the company's profit matters, they include "collection of overdue accounts receivable", accept the entrustment of creditors to collect debts from the debtors, but the debt collection methods are no different from those in the past, so the society further calls it a "violent debt collection company".

As the economy has taken a sharp decline, private debt disputes have arisen. As the lawsuit is too long and time-consuming, ordinary people would rather find debt collection companies to do it for them, which has given birth to some decent debt collection companies, among which "Regeneration Commercial Credit Services Co., Ltd." is the most representative.

Jiang Zhibin, manager of the "Regeneration Company", does not hide the fact that there are currently thousands of so-called debt collection companies in Taiwan. Although each company has obtained a legal profit-making business registration certificate, there are absolutely no more than 50 of them who do not have a gangster background. The outside world believes that most debt collection companies use "legal cover to protect the illegality."

Underground money house has a daily interest rate of 10%.

When you open a Taiwanese newspaper, you can always see "private micro-loan" advertisements that claim to be exempt from mortgages. People who don't know will think that kind-hearted people are specially designed to help those who urgently need money. In fact, these are underground money houses.

The underground bank mainly lends money loans, usually calculated at ten cents a day, that is, the repayment amount in ten days is twice the amount of the loan, doubled. A former accountant, Ms. Wu, was unemployed because the company ended its business. She borrowed NT$100,000 from the underground bank for work a year ago. Unexpectedly, she paid back 1.5 million, but still owed 1 million, which almost destroyed her family and finally had to call the police.

Although society knows that borrowing money from underground banks is equivalent to "taking poison", due to the extremely recession of the economy, even some housewives even went to underground banks to borrow money to pay their children's tuition and rent, which led to many social problems. For example, it is often heard that female debtors are forced to pay off their debts.

Surrender at the "fatal point" debt collector

The most common method of debt collection companies in Taiwan is violence, and the methods of some more righteous companies often make debtors laugh and cry, surrender and repay debts. Jiang Zhibin, manager of the "Regeneration Company", said that they will first find out what debtors are most afraid of and target the "fatal point".

The most typical example is that a debtor failed to do business 19 years ago and owed NT$5 million, so he was jailed and then baptized into a Christian.

The "Regeneration Company" accepted the commission to deal with this case. They recited the Bible every day to deal with the characteristics of religious belief in the debtors, and then communicated with them according to the principles of the Bible. In the end, even the church pastor was deeply moved and combined with the power of believers to repay the debt together.

A woman in Taichung bought a luxury house worth over NT$100 million and did not pay the final payment of nearly 10 million yuan on the grounds that she was dissatisfied with the decoration. She said to the public that she was the girlfriend of a well-known political figure in Taipei and went to the senior political executive if she asked for money. The debt collection company came to the senior political executive, but the answer she got was "not to pay back".
