15, Chapter 15(1/2)
Guan Heng was not in the empty room where he was putting the puzzle together.
Ning Qiuyan walked through the long corridor and came to the door of the room where he met Guan Heng every time.
He was about to knock on the door, but before he could knock, he heard Guan Heng's voice.
"Come in."
He heard Guan Heng say.
Just like the carpet between the door and the sound of footsteps, Guan Heng also knew that the person outside the door was him.
Ning Qiuyan held the handle and turned it slightly, pushing open the double doors.
A rising fire was lit in the center of the room. It was very warm and quiet, with almost no sound.
The firelight reflected the two people sitting and standing in the room, illuminating their equally pale and handsome faces.
Guan Heng sat.
The guest stood with his chest slightly cupped and his hands behind his back, looking very submissive.
Ning Qiuyan's arrival may have interrupted their conversation. When he turned to close the door, he felt their eyes falling on him.
As he walked over, he noticed that the guest's eyes were looking at him and following his movements.
The guest also had a pair of deep black eyes, which were different from those downstairs just now. At this time, the guest's eyes were filled with a little bit of imperceptible red, just like what Ning Qiuyan had seen in Guan Heng's eyes.
It might be the light of fire, Ning Qiuyan had no way of knowing.
"This is Lu Qianque." Guan Heng introduced to Ning Qiuyan, "The contact person who keeps in touch with you."
Contact? Is that the email account that starts with lu?
Ning Qiuyan looked at the guest in surprise: "You are the one who has been in contact with me all this time?"
From initial contact to confirmation of agreement, to subsequent supply and notification.
Ning Qiuyan always knew why the other person downstairs just now said that they finally met.
The guest named Lu Qianque nodded gently.
His eyes never left Ning Qiuyan's face when he nodded, and he seemed to be really interested in Ning Qiuyan.
"I thought you also lived on Dudao." Ning Qiuyan said.
"Actually, I once had such an idea." Lu Qianque said, "But my husband didn't like living with me... so I had to be pitifully driven away from the island by him."
Guan Heng did not comment on this and just glanced at Lu Qianque.
Lu Qianque immediately stopped joking and asked Ning Qiuyan: "I heard you can play the guitar."
Ning Qiuyan didn't know why he asked this, but still nodded: "Yes."
Lu Qianque said: "My child's birthday is today, and I can't make it back. He likes a cartoon very much." He said a well-known name, "Can you play the theme song for him for me?"
"
Of course there is no problem with this.
But now that there is no guitar around, Ning Qiuyan cannot play.
As if he knew what he was thinking, Lu Qianque smiled: "Let's go, let's choose a good piano."
Choose piano?
Ning Qiuyan was even more confused.
Just listen to Lu Qianque ask: "Sir, do you want to come with us?"
The fire flickered.
Guan Heng held his temples with his fingers, lazily, and looked uninterested: "You go."
Lu Qianque nodded, his movements elegant and respectful: "Then I will definitely choose the best one." After saying that, he turned to Ning Qiuyan, "Let's go, little dog, follow me."
Ning Qiuyan was unexpectedly called like this again.
This time he didn't dare to look to see if Guan Heng was laughing at him. He just corrected him: "My name is Ning Qiuyan."
Lu Qianque said as he walked: "I think it's very cute."
Ning Qiuyan: "...I don't think it's cute, don't call me that."
Ning Qiuyan was unhappy and even forgot to use honorifics.
The two of them had already walked out of the room. Lu Qianque walked very quickly, not paying attention to Ning Qiuyan's tone. He seemed to be eager to choose the piano. He even turned around and walked backwards to talk to Ning Qiuyan: "Oh, this is not the case.
The nickname I gave you. If you want to protest, you have to go to Dr. Ling."
Ning Qiuyan: "?"
Doctor Ling?
Lu Qianque is a very interesting person, and he is almost acquainted with him.
He said to Ning Qiuyan: "Your name is hard to remember and difficult to pronounce. Because of Dr. Ling, we now call you Little Dog in private."
Ning Qiuyan's face suddenly turned red again.
Could it be that even Guan Heng...could the smile in Guan Heng's eyes just now be because of this?
Lu Qianque said: "When I first signed the agreement with you, I just thought you were so innocent and cute that you dared to sign such a thing. I didn't expect that when I met you in person, you were really cute!"
Ning Qiuyan: "..."
This didn't sound like a compliment to him at all.
Lu Qianque blinked again: "Don't be angry, I promise we all like you! Otherwise, why would Mr. pick you up in person if you were lost? It's like if he was a minute late, you would be torn apart by wild beasts. Really
exaggerate."
Ning Qiuyan couldn't find the words to argue.
He was indeed flattered that Guan Heng went to pick him up, but because of the secret agreement, he felt that it was a little bit natural.
That was a secret between the two of them, so naturally he wouldn't tell Lu Qianque.
Ning Qiuyan wasn't really angry, but he didn't like being described as a puppy either.
Puppy is not a complimentary word in many contexts.
But Lu Qianque was a guest, and he didn't want to argue with Lu Qianque. He secretly planned to protest strongly the next time he saw Dr. Ling and stop the spread of this funny nickname from the source.
Lu Qianque is much more familiar with this place than Ning Qiuyan.
He walked so fast that Ning Qiuyan had to speed up his pace and followed Lu Qianque "thump thump thump" up the stairs all the way to the first floor, arriving at a place he had never entered before.
This is a huge musical instrument room, or a showroom. Ning Qiuyan was stunned as soon as he entered.
There are a dazzling array of Western musical instruments such as guitars, saxophones, harps, violins, cellos, etc. There is a piano in the center of the room, and at the other end there are also national musical instruments such as guzheng, bells, flutes, and some Ningqiu inkstones that I can’t even name.
He moved involuntarily and looked around the room, looking in shock at these instruments that were spotlessly clean and maintained to the point of gleaming.
He finally understood what Kang Bo meant when he told him that he didn't need to bring anything with him the last time he brought his guitar to the island.
"How about this one?" Lu Qianque casually took out a guitar.
Ning Qiuyan looked at it.
This was just a classical guitar among the three guitars. It was completely black and the paint on the piano case was somewhat mottled. He could not see its origin or the story behind it, but he only knew that it was so extraordinary.
"Or do you want to play another kind?" Lu Qianque asked, "I can do both."
Ning Qiuyan took the inkstone from Lu Qianque's hand and said, "No, just this."
They chose the piano.
Ning Qiuyan asked: "How come Mr. Guan collects so many musical instruments?"
Lu Qianque: "Some of them he played with a long time ago, and some were given by others. He has never been short of them. But I think he hasn't touched them for many years. You see, he would rather let us play with them than play with them himself."
Don’t touch.”
How many years?
Ning Qiuyan asked: "Mr. Guan doesn't play with these things now, is it because he is sick?"
He stood in the middle of a pile of musical instruments.
His eyes were as innocent as his age, revealing a little worry.
"Sick?" Lu Qianque suppressed his smile slightly, paused and said, "You don't know yet, right?"
Ning Qiuyan was confused.
He really wanted to know about Guan Heng. He wanted to know what illness Guan Heng had and whether it was life-threatening.
In other words, he subconsciously wanted to know something else to overturn those increasingly unrealistic conjectures.
But Lu Qianque did not continue.
Ning Qiuyan failed to get the answer again.
Lu Qianque took the chosen guitar and murmured, "This is the first time I've seen something like this." He then said to Ning Qiuyan, "Let's go up after we've chosen. Sir, he's waiting."
To be continued...
