Volume 10, Battle for Domination Volume 61, Dilemma 5

.

Since June 1916, the Pacific craft groups that left the base have carried such artillery submarines in the North Sea without using the deck gun.

In July 1916, some of the 5-type modified boats of the 8th Team of the Chinese Submarine Force, which was patrolling the Pacific Ocean, were also installed with this deck gun. Since the maximum elevation angle was only 30 degrees, the 75-mm deck gun was suitable for air shooting. Later, the 6, 7 and 8 submarines with wider decks were able to install more powerful 105-meter cannons instead of the 5-type boat + narrow.

These submarines with larger displacements are usually equipped with 110 ammunitions. Few of the commanders who use deck guns to attack cannons can achieve better than the captain of the "C-123". In early 1916, he was performing a "charge" combat mission on the US coast. The submarine he commanded was an ixb submarine equipped with a 105-meter deck gun. In addition, the "C-134" also used the deck gun to shoot down the US Coast Guard airship.

Sometimes, submarine crews also have some problems when operating deck guns, such as they always forget to remove the protective covers on the guns, causing several explosions of the barrels, causing some casualties to some crew members. This problem often occurs. The records created by deck guns are sometimes used to bombard shore-based targets. In the Caribbean operation, deck guns are often used to bombard some facilities similar to oil depots;

In the North Sea, artillery on submarines even destroyed some radar stations. Most surprisingly, the "C-242" even shot down an American aircraft with a 75mm deck cannon in 1916! On 819, 1916, the command site of Captain Long Shiting in the Caribbean Sea, the "C-" successfully destroyed the oil refinery and warehouse in Crussel with a 105m deck cannon.

On September 18, 1916, the "c-711" commanded by Captain Huang Hanming of the North Haiti, destroyed the Russian "Pravochi" radar station located at 68 degrees north latitude and 49 degrees east latitude. On September 24, 1916, the "c-711" once again destroyed the Russian "Prague Pointsga" radar station located at 70 degrees north latitude and 6 degrees east longitude with artillery.

Due to the increasing pressure of the Allied anti-submarine forces between 1916 and 1917, the deck guns of almost all submarines were successively removed from 1917 to 1944, because it was no longer possible for submarines to use deck guns to fight. Only some submarines were allowed to retain their deck guns, including some submarines heading to the Indian Ocean. In fact, since 1917, for most submarines, deck guns have become a memory of the past.

Since 1917, allied anti-submarine aircraft. [|You cannot sink submarines every time. However, you can force them to continue to dive, so that they cannot pursue the escort transport team. Even if you catch up, you cannot occupy the attack position. In addition, due to constant forced dive, the submarine's batteries are easily exhausted and lose their combat effectiveness.

At this stage, in order to deal with Allied aircraft, the commander of the Chinese submarine force, Carl and Tan Fenglin, began to hope for a new type of air defense submarine. This submarine dismantled the deck gun and was equipped with a large number of air defense guns. The mission was "not to scare the plane back away, but to shoot down the plane." On the 22nd of the month, the first modified air defense submarine "c-441" sailed out of Brest Port in Cam Ran Bay, China, and headed to the Pacific Ocean to receive the baptism of war. The boat was equipped with a 220-meter quad-mounted anti-aircraft gun and a semi-automatic 37mm rapid-fire gun. The captain was a long-tested Navy Captain Huang Biao.

Tan Fenglin gave him the mission to "make as much as possible British aircraft have less interest in attacking surface ships due to lack of experience in dealing with anti-aircraft guns. At least they feel that this is more dangerous than before." At first, everything went smoothly, but in Cam Ranh Bay, the "c-441" was attacked by a British Sunderland four-engine aircraft. At a critical moment, the submarine's 37mm rapid-fire gun failed, causing the plane to injure the submarine and flee. The first real submarine-to-air battle with the aircraft occurred on June 8, when "c-758 (captain Huang Dehu) was attacked by British carrier-based aircraft.

At 19:18, a single-guided "Lesander" type appeared on the starboard side of No. 8, dived at a low altitude, Huang Dehu used a 220-meter quadron artillery to fight, and the plane was hit by several rounds. However, four were still thrown with injuries: A "Matlet" type aircraft came to assist in the battle, and the 18mm cannon of the Chinese submarine was destroyed. Huang Dehu was very proud, but more and more Allied aircraft were, and the pitching device of the 18mm cannon suddenly failed, the hull was fired by a machine gun, and 11 gunners were killed.

When Huang Dehu saw that the situation was not good, he rushed to dive in the submarine before evading the disaster. After this fierce battle, Tan Fenglin De

Submarines can deal with aircraft, but Chinese submarines that need to rely on collective strength to sail in Lanwan have begun to use the new ground-boat group air defense tactics. Several or more submarines are concentrated and use double firepower and unified allocation of high-fire firepower to force incoming enemy aircraft to turn, which can at least reduce the accuracy of their bomb drops.

From the end of 1917, the Chinese began to use this new tactic and achieved good results. However, the Allies immediately changed their tactics. After the aircraft discovered the group of boats, they kept in contact with the submarines outside the range of the anti-aircraft guns, and they also stayed close enough to prevent the submarine from taking risks to dive. When other aircraft arrived, they carried out coordinated attacks on the submarines. At the end of June, the Allies used this tactic to destroy the two submarines, "c- and "c-68".

Despite this, Tan Fenglin's expensive tactics still achieved some results. From March 1917 to 520,75, the Chinese submarine convoy forced to pass through Cam Ran Bay, resulting in only 3 losses, while the remaining 25% of the submarines sailing alone lost 4. However, the "c441", the initiator of the submarine anti-submarine tactics, was not so lucky.

On 511, it had three heavy aircraft with Allied forces in Cam Ranh Bay, but it also lost 10 crew members. Captain Hartman was also injured. Finger took over the command and withdrew from the battle while diving in an emergency, and survived. The "c-441" lucky enough to return to China's Port Brebud.

Good luck always runs out. Tan Fenglin's unconventional and provocative tactics attracted the attention of the Allies, so the Chinese were surprised to find that from the 220th, the losses of submarines increased dramatically and reached a shocking level. The Allies invested more and more anti-submarine aircraft, and they changed tactics and attacked clusters to overwhelm the total firepower of submarines sailing in formations. Moreover, the firepower of anti-submarine aircraft was also strengthened, and the abdomen was thicker, becoming the veritable "air gunboats". The submarine's small-caliber anti-aircraft guns were powerless to them.

On the 317th, a battle of the "C-267" submarine proved that the submarine's own air defense capabilities were weak. At that time, a "Sunderland" aircraft launched a sneak attack on the submarine. The captain insisted on not diving and resisted with a 20mm deck cannon. However, the observation post found that the 20-meter shell was bounced back continuously by the fuselage, and the aircraft took the opportunity to drop four bombs, causing two aimers on the submarine to die.

Despite this, most Chinese captains expressed deep confidence in improving their air defense capabilities. They believed that the use of anti-aircraft artillery was good. They forced enemy planes to be as arrogant as before, and sometimes even gave up attacks. Tan Fenglin also admitted that the submarine did shoot down some aircraft, but this did not help much, because the aircraft attacked repeatedly one after another, and the submarine would eventually be hit, injured or destroyed.

The Chinese naval commander knew that the entire Pacific Ocean was under the close surveillance of the Allied Air Forces. Even in the central and southern sea areas of the Pacific, whether it is a four-engine long-range aircraft or a carrier-based aircraft of the US aircraft carrier, it can be used for anti-submarines. Even in the Indian Ocean, some aircraft are used for anti-submarines, and this trend has not diminished. Therefore, submarine cluster air defense tactics, which violates the principle of submarine use, has no way out.

After repelling the attack of the Chinese submarine group, the Americans began to prepare to attack Cam Ranh Bay with all their might. At this time, the United States was so powerful, and its opponent China could only struggle to resist.

At least before 19174, the Americans achieved remarkable results, and it seemed that they would continue to be brilliant!

.:.In front, straight into the sky...

Behind the horse, two thousand elite cavalry slowly unfolded, and the iron armor was arguing, gathering into a torrent of steel, with a sharp spear and a cold flame of death flashing.

.:|The beautiful royal capital can be seen faintly in the domestic city. These proud Goguryeo people do not know how powerful they dare to fight with cavalry outside the city. It is simply to destroy the city! The city should be destroyed today!

Ma Yue turned around and smiled, the afterglow of the setting sun reflected his eyes, burning into two cold red flames, and the eyes of the two thousand soldiers were instantly focused on his face.

"Break the city and take three days off! Those who are the first to enter the city will be rewarded with a thousand gold medals!"

"Aowu~~"

As soon as Ma Yue finished speaking, the two thousand elite cavalry howled wildly, waving the steel knife and spear in their hands while howling. The wildfire had already ignited in his eyes, like a pack of wolves smelling blood, revealing bloody fangs.
