Chapter 114: Acceptance
"Abdler." Sir Brent frowned after hearing the name.
"He is a respectable old man. He has been doing business in the Lavague area for fifty years. My previous consuls had a good relationship with him. It is impossible for him to betray Manila." Sir Brent shook his head and refused flatly.
"Hmph, do you still expect them to be loyal to Manila?" Terry was very disdainful of Sir Brent's words.
"The last time six merchant ships left the port rashly, the main messenger behind them was this Abdler." Terry sneered.
Sir Brent fell into deep thought. The last time the Nanyang ship left the port without authorization was full of doubts.
It was not long before Jagley became the president of the Chamber of Commerce. He could not have such great influence and could not have privately ordered six merchant ships to escape at night.
And only Abdler has such a great influence in the chamber of commerce.
"He is a shrewd old man, and he can't do this. Doesn't he understand the power of the Spanish Empire?" Sir Brent looked at General Terry in disbelief.
"Money can make people crazy, especially those who are greedy for money."
"As early as we were in the peace talks with the Han people, some local merchants from Vigan came to Lavag and mixed in the peace talks queue. Because they were not Han people, we let go of our guards." A lieutenant beside Terry spoke.
"According to our intelligence, the Han people got along very well with Nanyang merchants in Weigan and even divided the property of the local chamber of commerce." said Wei Guan.
"It's not difficult to explain that Abdler would do such a stupid act." Sir Brent smiled bitterly.
"Why, he really thought the Ming army could occupy Lavag and then divide the wealth of our Spanish like the Weigan Chamber of Commerce." Sir Brent felt helpless and ridiculous about the greed of these merchants.
"Do they think Lavag is Vigan?" Sir Brent's face gradually became gloomy.
"The Chamber of Commerce must settle the matter, and they must not stab us in the back."
"There are no choice but to liquidate Abdler, and now Lavag cannot withstand the turmoil." Sir Brent instructed.
"Prince Bals, I order you to lead a team of musketeers to capture Abdler." General Terry ordered toward the lieutenant next to him.
After receiving the order, the lieutenant left in a hurry.
"Why don't you just take down the entire chamber of commerce?" General Terry said coldly.
"I am the consul, and you are just a general." Brent spoke.
"We still have to rely on the merchants of Lavag now. If we reconcile rashly, we will only cause turmoil in Lavag City."
"This is also why those greedy merchants devour the wealth of Lavag City, but I turned a blind eye to it." Sir Brent said coldly.
"We are all doing things for the Spanish Empire, there is nothing right or wrong." As a team of musketeers left slowly outside the manor, Sir Brent gently drew a cross on his chest.
It is obvious that Captain Bals is very happy to accept such a task, especially in such a war-torn environment.
He couldn't wait to lead a squad of musketeers to the residence where Abdler was.
Today, Lavague Street has long lost its former prosperity, and pedestrians are sparse on the huge streets.
A team of Spanish musketeers roared past, and the pedestrians on both sides of the street fled.
Abdler's house is located in the most prosperous area of Lavague, and its decoration is no less than that of Lavague's capital.
Spanish musketeers broke into the compound brutally, and the natives on the side were not wary of being thrown to the ground.
"You are too domineering. Who will allow you to break into a house privately?" a man angrily scolded.
Captain Barth walked into the compound with a swagger, but was stunned.
The businessman in front of him turned out to be Yagley.
"Dear Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, I didn't expect you to be here too." General Terry asked him to arrest Abdler alone, and did not ask him to arrest all the people from the Chamber of Commerce.
As a lieutenant, he is still a little afraid of the president.
"Sorry, we suspect that Abdler is treason and is arrested by the order of Sir Brent, the consul of Lavag. " As he explained, Captain Bals ordered his soldiers to surround the people in the courtyard.
"Does Sir Brent just don't believe us merchants?" Abdler smiled and looked at the Spanish musketeers in front of him.
"I have a good relationship with Sir Brent, and I don't think he will make things difficult for me." Abdler slowly placed his hand in the air and signaled to the Spanish soldiers in front of him.
Captain Barth sneered, his eyes slapped the dazzling array of decorations placed in the hall.
His face showed a greedy look, but then he looked at the president of the chamber of commerce who was glaring at him, and Barrs had to secretly call him unlucky.
If he had been in the past, he would have threatened them and forced them to hand over a lot of gold, silver and jewelry, and these would naturally fall into his pocket.
But now, Yagley, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, has to be suppressed by him.
Bales walked up and put shackles on Abdler himself.
It’s not that Abdler is very skilled in martial arts, so he needs Bals to do it himself.
But when Abdler raised his hand, Barst suddenly saw several exquisite rings wearing his thin fingers.
This made Bales' greedy face reveal again.
He personally walked forward and gave Abdler the shackles, and took the opportunity to put a few rings down when the people around him were not paying attention.
But the moment when Bales walked away from Abdler's ring, Abdler's skinny fingers suddenly grabbed Bales' hand.
Bales was stunned, looked up at Abdler, and inadvertently showed a hint of panic, and then a cold light flashed.
Balls screamed, and his left hand, which had been passing through the ruby ring, landed on the ground.
Blood was soaked on the marble countertop, and Balls staggered back, subconsciously putting his right hand on his waist to take out the musket.
But the next second a bearded man hit him violently, and an exquisite flintlock pistol slid down from Balls' waist.
"Come on!" Balls was hit on the ground and screamed in panic.
The Spanish musketeers beside him were shocked, but unexpectedly there was still someone resisting.
As soon as the four musketeers in the courtyard raised their muskets, the servant behind them actually pulled out a dagger and slashed them hard across the musketeer's neck.
Seeing several soldiers falling down with sobs, Balls screamed and ran towards the outer courtyard.
But the bearded man didn't give him a chance, so he took up a musket.
"Bang!"
Barrs felt a pain in his chest, and red blood flowed out from behind. Then he fell to the ground weakly.
The Spanish musketeers outside the door of the mansion heard the call and hurried forward to help, but unexpectedly the door of the mansion was closed.
