58. The Skull of Gashi

When he returned to the tower again, Xu Fei remained vigilant. Before entering the door, he threw the demon-eyed guard in.

The Demon Eye Guard rolled around the cracked stone slabs for a few times and stopped in front of the stairs.

Xu Fei observed for a moment, carefully and quickly came to the stairs, picked up the demon-eyed guard, and carried it up the stairs.

Although the Demon Eye Guard had lost its function, he did not ignore it, because the Demon Eye Guard was not damaged, but had just exhausted energy. If he could find another "magic-filled colored crystal", it would probably allow the Demon Eye Guard to open his eyes. Even if he could not find it, he could use it to test possible traps.

After coming to the second floor of the tower, Xu Fei looked around and saw no living things. He only saw candlesticks hanging on the walls and rows of bookshelfs more than three meters high.

These bookshelf are densely arranged and have very small spacing, making the otherwise unbroad space look extremely narrow.

This should be a library, but the dusty bookshelf looks more like forgotten coffins because they are all scented with a rotten smell, and this disgusting and nauseating smell is mixed in the muddy and dull air, making it difficult to breathe.

Xu Fei held his breath, took out the candle he had found before and lit it with flint.

A slight leaping flame ignited from the candle wick, and a wisp of white smoke floated on the orange-yellow and orange-red flame tips.

Xu Fei tried hard to recall the flame reaction experiment in chemistry class, but he couldn't remember what the chemistry teacher said. However, judging from the burning conditions of the candle, the indoor oxygen is quite sufficient.

That should be the case?

It seems to be...

After hesitating for a moment, he thought that the candle in his hand may not be the same as the candle used by the chemistry teacher, and it seems meaningless to think about these.

Furthermore, the tower is the territory of the bachelor's. Unless Bachelor Lark is crazy, he will not release poison gas in the library, right?

Being cautious is a good habit, but if you look at the forefront and don’t dare to act and waste your time in vain, you may put yourself in greater danger.

Thinking of this, Xu Fei suddenly had an idea and breathed in a tentative manner.

At the same time, as his thoughts moved, subtitles appeared before his eyes.

【Hyperplasma: mild

Blood temperature: 40℃ (59.7℃)

Status: Minor injury

Raven flow military swordsmanship (proficient): 40/100]

The state is still slightly injured and has not turned into poisoning. It seems that there is indeed no poisonous gas in the library.

Xu Fei then took a breath with confidence and strode towards the bookshelf. As soon as he took a step forward, he heard an angry howl coming from the bookshelf closest to him.

"Get out!"

Xu Fei was startled and while taking a step back, he waved Cardenas's sword and drew an arc in front of him.

He thought someone was hiding in the dark to attack, but it didn't. Then, his heart beat violently.

He understood the meaning of the howling!

Just like he can read the words of this world, although he doesn't know what language it is, he can understand the meaning.

This is the first time he has heard someone talking in this world!

Wait, the person who speaks is not necessarily the person...

Xu Fei tried hard to remain calm and was fully alert. While he spoke in a low voice, he said hello: "Hello? Hello?"

After a long time, no response.

Maybe the other party doesn't understand?

At this time, Xu Fei realized that he had actually tried to communicate with creatures from other worlds in common language, which seemed a bit too stupid.

He thought about it and threw the Demon Eye Guard out.

No matter what it is, let’s take a look first.

"Get out!"

"Get out!"

"Get out!"

The same voice and the same tone are repeated constantly, like a repeater.

Then, a strange skull floated out of the bookshelf, floating in the air like a ghost.

What?

Xu Fei looked closely and found that the skull looked basically the same as the human skull he saw in the battlefield ruins, except that there were four skulls several times smaller on the top, worn on its forehead and parietal bones like hats.

"Get out!"

Another howl made Xu Fei confirm that the sound was made by this strange skull.

It turns out that he is not a living person.

Xu Fei was disappointed. This skull was probably like the magic eye guard, and it was a magical creature.

Just as he was hesitating whether to give it a sword, the weird skull floated towards the Demon Eye Guard, and the teethless upper jaw hit the Demon Eye Guard, rolling back half a circle against the Demon Eye Guard.

Then, the skull floated back into the air and hit the Demon Eye Guard again. It continued to repeat this action until the Demon Eye Guard stayed away from the bookshelf. Then, it slowly floated back to the bookshelf.

Xu Fei looked at it silently, his expression gradually became strange. He guessed that the strange skull might be the guard of the library, but it seemed that it had no means of attack.

After thinking for a while, he walked two steps forward.

"Get out!"

The skull appeared again, and the hollow eye sockets were facing Xu Fei, and then they hit hard.

Xu Fei dodged sideways, and his skull neither turned around nor stopped, and rushed straight to the wall, making him dizzy.

Seeing this scene, Xu Fei was speechless. He thought there would be a thrilling battle, but he didn't expect to watch a comedy that was not funny.

After a while, the skull seemed to have recovered and turned around and hit Xu Fei hard.

"Get out!"

The skull hit hard.

This time Xu Fei did not dodge. He raised his left hand and leaned forward, pinching the skull easily, so that it could not move.

Then he saw a subtitle:

【Gashi's Skull

The great invention of the wise king Jiashi.

Auxiliary props for the bachelor's degree.

Instead of holding a lamp and a candle at night, it is better to free your eyes.

Put the skull of Gashi on paper and listen to the voice of the wise king.]

Judging from this description, it seems to be a prop to assist in reading. Xu Fei took out a book from the bookshelf and pressed his skull on the cover of the book.

The moment the two came into contact, the skull made a sound again, and the angry tone became soft and moving, full of magnetic.

"The Fall of White Rose, author, Dena Raven."

"Prologue: 'The white rose is destined to wither'."

"Outline: History is the path that predecessors have taken. Understanding the past helps to recognize the present and look forward to the future."

"Dear readers, before reviewing the history of the White Rose Dynasty, I would like to ask you to think about a question first."

"The last queen of the White Rose Dynasty worked hard to govern and appointed wise men, and wanted to support the building, but ultimately accelerated the destruction of the kingdom. Why?"

Xu Fei stared at the skull in his hand and couldn't help but widen his eyes. He raised his hand, and the skull left Shufeng and began to shout again.

"Get out!"

"Get out!"

Xu Fei ignored it, he opened the book cover and looked at the home page.

The handwriting on the paper was blurred, and after carefully identifying it, he barely saw the meaning:

Prologue: The white rose is destined to wither.
Chapter completed!
