037 [Poke Poke Poke]

About half an hour after the exam started, Professor Zhang and others, who were the promotion officers, suddenly walked out of the West Hall. The invigilators sitting around the examination room were all from Guizhou Censors, and now they entered the venue to meet with the promotion officers.

Each promotion officer is assigned a proctor to supervise each other.

The invigilator held a small stamp in his hand and stamped the candidate's ink scroll along the way. The seal was called "Qingshuo".

At this time, the candidates had already written about a hundred words and had to copy them on the formal answer sheet for the invigilator to be effective - to prevent someone from cheating in the middle.

The one next door to Wang Yuan was holding the sleeve of the referee tightly and said with a sad face: "Sir, give me some more time. I have already written the lecture and can copy it soon!"

The referee left with a straight sleeve, and the candidate was suddenly ashamed. It is estimated that he was born in an ordinary military family and it is not easy to be able to study, so he hopes to receive rice in the future and reduce the burden on his family.

But if the invigilator doesn't poke him, everything will be in vain.

The Taoist test can be taken all day and you can stop and have a meal in the middle, but the first 100 words of the first question must be finished within half an hour of the start of the exam.

If you haven't written the starting lecture while stamping, or forgot to copy it on the answer sheet, the invigilator will not stamp it for you. When the reviewer corrects the test paper, you will write your article in a scattered way. If you don't stamp it, you will be demoted by a higher score, and you can even be directly judged as a failure because you are suspected of cheating in the midfield.

Also, there was only one test in the Ming Dynasty, unlike the several tests in the Qing Dynasty. Unless a fraud case occurred, there was no possibility of a re-examination. If the invigilator did not stamp it, it would almost mean that he was sentenced to death.

"well!"

Wang Yuan shook his head and sighed, feeling sorry for his neighbor's table.

But in an hour, I can’t even write a hundred words, who else can I blame?

Professor Zhang led the invigilator to poke around. When he poked Wang Yuan, he couldn't help but stop and check carefully.

"Have you finished your four books?" Professor Zhang asked.

Wang Yuan was designing the Five Classics on the draft paper, and replied without raising his head: "It's done."

Professor Zhang had no taboos. He bent down and carefully looked at the answer sheet, and couldn't help but nod and praised: "The article is simple and mature and polite, and can be a model for all students. What's your name?"

"Wang Yuan." Wang Yuan replied.

"When you enter the school, I will teach you how to make arts myself." Professor Zhang left after saying that, and asked the invigilator to poke Wang Yuan, and then poke other candidates.

The old professor has been a scholar for decades and cannot even pass the exam for a juren. He has been able to get a quota for tribute every year by relying on his qualifications. However, he still has a high opinion of himself. Seeing that future students are capable of making, he wanted to teach this student himself to write eight-legged essays.

It was more than half an hour before Wang Yuan finished writing all the five scriptures.

It’s really too simple to ask Xishu’s questions, which is incomparable to Jiangnan. Jiangnan has already started to write questions.

Let’s give an example of the question: “You can be a man but a bird, but you can be a poem like Mu Mu Wen.”

The examiner who made the question was so naughty that he even confused Confucius.

A child wrote the title of "It's shameful to be a wife, not as good as a bird." Then he completely caught him blindly and didn't know how to contact King Wen. He repeatedly said this sentence, annoyed the candidates next door, and blurted out the next seat: "I'm ashamed, I'm ashamed! If you're ashamed of it, there's no better teacher King Wen."

The boy was very happy when he heard this and immediately wrote it into the paper, and passed the exam for the scholar because of this sentence.

...

Wang Yuan carefully revised and proofreaded, then copied it to the answer sheet, and packed the exam box and prepared to hand it over.

Xi Shu kept sending people to stare at Wang Yuan, and immediately called him to see this. He didn't even have a red paper for the test, let alone a name or something. He began to correct the test paper for Wang Yuan on the spot.

The title of the Four Books is fine. After reviewing the Five Classics, Xi Shu suddenly asked with a smile: "Which book are you reading?"

Wang Yuan said: "Entertainment of Justice and the Complete Collection."

Xi Shu reminded: "If you want to pass the imperial examination, put down "Judges" first. It is not too late to read "Five Classics Justice" after you become an official."

"Abide by the master's teachings." Wang Yuan bowed.

The official imperial examination textbooks of the Ming Dynasty were "The Complete Collection of Four Books" and "The Complete Collection of Five Classics".

Regarding these two sets of books, Gu Yanwu commented: "The superior deceived the imperial court and the inferior deceived the scholars. The abolition of the classics actually began from now on."

In a word, the textbook is purely a random piece of paper.

This comes from Zhu Yuanzhang and Zhu Di, who felt that some content was not conducive to rule, so they started to do whatever they wanted.

Zhu Di summoned his ministers to compile books, and among them, they compiled the "Four Books Collection" and "Five Classics Collection". They abandoned theories outside Neo-Confucianism and arbitrarily tampered with the meaning of Zhu Xi's classics to achieve the ideological control of scholars.

The "Five Classics Collection" was slightly better, and it was not until the end of the Ming Dynasty that it was abandoned by the mainstream. The candidates read the "Five Classics Justice" in the Tang Dynasty.

The "Four Books Collection" is simply incomprehensible. The court's deletion and modification, and folk printing also deletion and modification, which made Zhu Xi so angry that he jumped out of the coffin. By the middle of the Ming Dynasty, many students simply read the "Four Books Collection" directly and regarded the official textbook as a piece of waste paper. The same is true for the examiner, and the questions were published according to the "Four Books Collection" because the "Four Books Collection" is often contradictory.

At that time, Shen Fucon accidentally came into contact with the "Justice of the Five Classics" and immediately regarded it as a standard, abandoning the "Five Classics" and neglecting it, which led to various detachment when taking the exam for the Juren.

Now teaching Wang Yuan, Shen Fucong also warned: "You must master the "Five Classics" as well, otherwise the scientific examination will be difficult. But if you study, the "Fujian" is a false statement, and you should use "Justice" as the criterion."

This led to Wang Yuan studying "The Book of Rites" and reading two different versions, one for exams and the other for academic research.

Professor Zhang seemed to have a good relationship with Xi Shu, so he came over and asked, "How?"

Xi Shu drew circles on Wang Yuan’s paper and nodded, saying, “If there is no accident, it should be the head of the case.”

This is to record Wang Yuan as a student on the spot, and the right to be promoted to a school official has this right.

"Thank you, the Grand Master." Wang Yuan hurriedly bowed and thanked.

"No need to thank me," Xi Shu said with a smile. "With your talent and knowledge, it is enough to take the Juren in Guizhou. But if you want to get the Jinshi, you have to work harder. Guizhou has not been promoted to the Jinshi for ten years."

To be precise, he has not been admitted to the Jinshi for twelve years.

This shows the depravity of Guizhou. When Song Ang was in charge of the family, he promoted culture and education, and widely run social schools, and also communicated with Wei and social schools. This prompted the students of the labour center and the children of ordinary people to study, and often passed two Jinshi in one exam.

As a result, when Song Ang died, Song Ran succeeded to the throne and stopped all social schools. The garrison was also corrupt and the children of ordinary military households had no money to study. As a result, Guizhou did not pass the imperial examination for twelve consecutive years!

Xi Shu put Wang Yuan's paper next to him and reminded him: "Stand behind me."

"Yes!" Wang Yuan stood up honestly.

About half an hour later, someone finally handed in the paper.

Xi Shu glanced at the eight-legged essay and smiled and said, "Zong Lu, your articles have made great progress."

The school official is only for three years. While holding the Taoist examination, the previous students must also be assessed. The first year of the year exam is to test the students' homework; the second year of the subject exam is to determine the list of candidates for the provincial examination; if the third year of the examination is not taken, prepare for the provincial examination.

However, Xi Shu is a special situation. He should be in office for five years and not leave Guizhou until the next provincial examination is over.

The student in front of me is Chen Wenxue, whose courtesy name is Zonglu. Today I am here to take the New Year exam. In order to save trouble, Xi Shu took the Dao exam and the New Year exam together. Anyway, the New Year exam is equivalent to the final exam.

Xi Shu handed the person's test paper to Wang Yuan with his backhand: "You can evaluate it."

Wang Yuan read it carefully and said, "Full and stable."

Xi Shu smiled and said, "You are very slick, you are obviously not very outstanding, but you insist on saying something is stable."

"Student is ashamed!" Chen Wenxue hurriedly bent down and bowed.

Xi Shu encouraged again: "Although it is not outstanding, the beginning, the beginning, the end, the transition, and the end are much better than last year. It's still too simple to write new ideas. Don't belittle yourself because of this." He picked up Wang Yuan's paper and handed it to Chen Wenxue, saying, "You appreciate it."

Chen Wenxue immediately held up his hands and took the test paper respectfully.

Wang Yuan’s eight-legged essay is only average in terms of essays. However, in terms of starting, bearing, turning and closing, it is like applying lubricant, and there is no obstacle to reading. The most exciting thing is the discussion process, with no nonsense from beginning to end, and various arguments and arguments are all intimate.

This article can be easily passed the imperial examination even in Jiangnan twenty years ago!

Of course, it's hard to say now.

In today's Jiangnan provincial examination, examiners and candidates prefer literary talent. They solve problems like writing fu, and their simple and steady writing style is very disadvantaged.

Chen Wenxue repeatedly read Wang Yuan’s paper and then bowed to him: “Scholars are so talented, I feel ashamed of myself.”

"I dare not." Wang Yuan said politely.

Not long after, two more students handed over the papers, namely: Tang Ye, whose courtesy name is Boyuan; Ye Wu, whose courtesy name is Zicang.

Xishu asked them to review each other's articles, and then commented one by one, completely treating the four of them as personal disciples to teach them.

Finally, Xi Shu said to Zhang Bangchen: "Professor Zhang, after the exam is completed, you can organize all the students in the department after the freshmen enter school."

"What's the point?" Zhang Bangchen did not agree directly, but asked about the reason.

Xi Shu explained: "I personally took them to Longgang Mountain to study, and all of them were worshipped by Mr. Yangming."

Zhang Bangchen was shocked and immediately surrendered.

Wang Yangming offended Liu Jin's demotion. Xi Shu actually led Guizhou students to join Wang Yangming's disciples. The political risks in the middle were so great that they were terrifying.

At least he was not afraid of the powerful, which made Professor Zhang admire him very much.

In fact, Xi Shu didn’t have much contact with Wang Yangming, and in terms of the years of Jinshi, Xi Shu was still Wang Yangming’s senior, so there was no reason to do such a thing.

There must be hidden information!

This means that Mao Ke, another deputy envoy from Guizhou, was involved in academic research.

Mao Ke and Xi Shu took office at the same time. Because they were old and weak, they got sick halfway through Guizhou. He has been recuperating for the past two years, but they have a deep friendship with Xi Shu. The two hope to work together to run the education in Guizhou.

Coincidentally, Mao Ke and Wang Yangming were fellow villagers.

Not long ago, Wang Yangming wrote a letter to Mao Ke, explaining the truth he had just understood and hoped that Mao Ke would help him carry out enrollment publicity.

Mao Ke was impressed by the theory of "heart is reason" and immediately helped Wang Yangming to promote it, which led to the arrested Mr. Song receiving the news.

Xi Shu also learned from Mao Ke that Wang Yangming had great talent, so he planned to take all the students to Longgang Mountain to study.

As for Mr. Song’s father, Song Jian, this person is not well-informed.

Although Xi Shu is Yang Tinghe's fellow Sichuan native, he has no close relationship at all. Song Jian wanted to get Yang Tinghe's line wrong.

Wang Yuan’s master is Xi Shu, and his master is about to be Wang Yangming. Both of them are incompatible with Yang Tinghe. Wang Yuan will definitely become political enemies with Yang Tinghe in the future.
