Technical indicators or parameters such as motor power, number of motor poles, protection level, explosion-proof level, peak speed, power density, efficiency, high-efficiency area area ratio, torque, etc.

It is more accurate to use technical indicators or parameters to describe the differences between domestic and foreign motors.

In 2011, and even in 2020, there are still gaps between domestic motors and foreign motors in the following aspects: peak speed, power density, high-efficiency area area ratio and cooling method.

The first aspect is peak speed.

Peak speed is an important indicator of the drive motor, and it is also the most obvious indicator of the current gap between domestic drive motors and foreign motors.

Under maximum power operation, the peak speed of most domestic permanent magnet synchronous motors is between 4000-6000 rpm, while abroad it is basically above 10000 rpm.

The technical theory of Xinghai Group's motors has reached 13,000 rpm.

The rotational speed is mainly related to the manufacturing accuracy, process and materials of the parts, such as the materials of the shaft and bearings, fitting clearance and uniformity, etc.

Taking materials as an example, shafts are generally forged rather than cast. The cast material has poor structure density, poor plasticity, and is easy to break.

Of course, no company is stupid enough to make such a high-speed shaft out of cast materials.

Shaft materials generally use 35, 45, 40Cr, 45Mn2, 40MnB, 35CrMo, 35CrMnSi, 40CrNiMo, etc., and undergo a quenching and tempering heat treatment process.

A high-speed shaft like this requires high temperature resistance, so heat-resistant steel (containing Mo) must be used, such as 35CrMo, 40CrNiMo.

The surface of the shaft is worn, so the hardness is very high, but the inside of the shaft is also required to be tough enough not to break easily, so it needs to be tempered. This process is the same as the blade of a household kitchen knife.

The manufacturing nature of 3D printers is similar to that of casting. Mu Yang currently cannot solve the problem of dense tissue of 3D printer materials, so he has not developed 3D printers yet.

Xinghai Group has a good material casting and forging factory, world-leading machining equipment, and advanced heat treatment equipment and processes. The quality of the shafts produced by Xinghai Group is very good and can reach the world-class level.

Of course, it is still not up to the world's top level, but it is enough to meet the design requirements.

At present, the company has manufactured a batch of shafts for motors and is waiting to be installed on the prototype machine.

The second point is the power level.

Although domestic motors can basically reach international levels in terms of power, they have a weight disadvantage under the same power conditions, so there is a large gap in power density compared with international levels.

At present, the power density of domestic permanent magnet synchronous motors is mostly in the range of 1 to 2 kW/kg, which is far from the target value of 3.5 kW/kg in 2020.

The weight of the motor is much lighter than the battery pack. The casing is made of aluminum alloy, and the power of a single machine is generally between 150-210kW.

If according to the technical level in 2020, the overall weight is generally between 50-65KG.

If the power density of the motor is mostly in the range of 1 to 2 kW/kg, then a single motor will be very heavy, which not only increases the weight of the vehicle, but also takes up space. This is unacceptable to Mu Yang, which is why he plans to develop his own motor.

One of the main reasons.

The motor technology purchased by Muyang can theoretically reach 4kW/kg.

Dual motors have 625 horsepower, which means a single motor has 312.5 horsepower.

To convert, 1 horsepower = 0.735kW;

In other words, to reach 229.68kW, the theoretical motor weight is 57.42KG, which is relatively light for such a high-power motor.

But how many can actually be produced after mass production is still unknown.

If it's a little worse, Mu Yang can accept it.

If we entrust a domestic motor factory to produce it, a single motor will definitely weigh more than 100KG. If we can't get it to 150KG, then we can still play with it.

The third point is the area ratio of high-efficiency areas.

The high-efficiency area ratio of our country's motors is concentrated at 70% to 75%, while that of foreign motors basically reaches more than 80%.

In terms of motor efficiency, the highest efficiency of domestic motors has reached 94% to 96%, which has reached the level of Siemens, Remy and other companies.

The area ratio of the high-efficiency area is key, and it is useless to occasionally reach 100% of the maximum power.

For example, a 200kW motor has an actual output power of 80%, which is 160kW.

The high efficiency zone refers to the system efficiency exceeding 80%, that is, more than 160kW.

If the motor output power is stable above 160kW, the area ratio of the high-efficiency area is 100%.

In this regard, Muyang's requirement is to reach the advanced foreign level.

The fourth point is cooling method.

The cooling method of motors has gradually developed from natural cooling to water cooling. Currently, domestic and foreign motor companies mainly use water cooling. A few years later, foreign advanced motor companies have developed oil-cooled motors, which further improves the cooling efficiency of the motor.

This is actually a cost issue and is not difficult to solve.

If the speed is high and the temperature rises quickly, oil cooling is used;

If the speed is low and the temperature rises slowly, water cooling can solve the problem, so there is no need to use oil cooling.

Xinghai Group optimizes materials, production processes, structural design, etc., and develops towards intelligence and digitalization.

If it can be developed successfully, it will be a permanent magnet synchronous motor with the world's top technical level.

Mu Yang spent 50 achievement points on the motor, and it was not in vain.

High power is easy to get, but if you want it to be light and stable, the price is not cheap.

In 2021, the front motor of Weilai ES6 uses permanent magnet synchronous 160kW. It is a self-developed motor, and the market price of a single machine is more than 30,000 yuan.

Xinghai Group’s 231.5kW motor is estimated to cost around 20,000 yuan per unit, and selling it to Hummer Company for 70,000 yuan is not expensive at all.
