Chapter Eight

Guanyin's full name is "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva of Great Compassion and Mercy to Save the Suffering and Difficult". This is a character in Buddhism. Buddhism is a religion from ancient India and was introduced to China during the Han Dynasty. Before the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Guanyin was both male and female. In the Tang Dynasty, Guanyin's image and costume were basically fixed, and both female appearances were female appearances. Therefore, Guanyin's female appearances could not appear during the Jin Dynasty. Therefore, the Wei Shi Sizong engraved on the base of this Guanyin statue must not be Ruan Ji among the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest, but another person with the same character, and he was also from Kaifeng.

While Yang Yaokui and Jiang Yuan were talking there, Tang Feng smiled and said to Chen Yan: "This is the star effect. A celebrity appeared somewhere. It is normal for people in later generations to have the same words as this celebrity."

Chen Yan thought for a long time before he figured it out. He asked strangely: "Of course, antiques are more valuable than they are, so why don't Jiang Yuan be fooled again?"

"You are wrong." Tang Feng said: "You can't compare the natural environment of modern China with ancient times. The carvings of horns unearthed in China are basically before the Tang Dynasty and rarely after the Tang Dynasty." This is the reason for the change of the natural environment. Carvings of horns were found in the Neolithic Age. At that time, rhinos and elephants in the Central Plains ran all over the ground, and they were basically unseen in the Tang Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, they all depended on "import" and were even priceless in modern times. It was illegal to carry ivory rhinoceros horn jewelry.

It’s the same old saying that things are precious because they are rare. After the Tang Dynasty, the carvings of teeth and horns are rare, so they are more valuable. At present, the most valuable handicrafts of this type are from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Tang Feng said: “The only pity is that this ivory carving Guanyin is a folk product. If it is an official or imperial product, it will be worth a lot of money.”

Among the sixty-four national treasures that are prohibited from leaving the country, the ivory cup unearthed from Fu Hao’s tomb in Yinxu, Anyang. Its preciousness is because of its historical significance.

When Tang Feng was speaking, his eyes glanced at a yellow tits tablet. The tits tablets were held in his hand by ancient officials when they were facing the emperor. One end was wide and the other end was narrow and curved. Tang Feng took the tits tablets in his hand and looked at them. This was an ivory tablet with uniform natural cracks on it. This crack was similar to the opening of Ge Kiln porcelain. It seemed to be cracks, but it was very smooth to the touch. The characteristic of ivory was called "laughing."

He asked Yang Yaokui, who was looking with Jiang Yuan, "Brother Yang, is this thing intentional to take action?"

Yang Yaokui looked at the tablet and laughed, saying, "Although this thing is ivory, it also falls into the category of eye-catching."

Jiang Yuan asked, "Is it ivory? You should know that in ancient China, only officials above the fifth rank were qualified to hold ivory tablets when they went to court, which was very valuable." Those below the fifth rank could only use bamboo tablets.

Yang Yaokui said: "I know all of these, but there are also six small regular characters in the Daoguang Sanqing of the Qing Dynasty engraved on it."

Tang Feng understood the reason why Yang Yaokui said he was slashing. Qing Dynasty officials did not use tablets when they went to court. As long as they saw people wearing zombie robes (Qing Dynasty official uniforms) holding tablets when they were on TV, the director was talking nonsense.

After Yang Yaokui said the process of slapping his eyes, he waved his hand and said, "The past is unbearable to look back on. If there were no such six words, I would put it into the glass cabinet."

Tang Feng knew that there was a way to do this, and he said, "No matter how bad it is, it is ivory, why don't you give it to me?" The ivory tablet is not made of a whole ivory, and it is a simple work without carvings. The market conditions are not high, and it is worth about 7,000 yuan.

"This thing is not worth much money. I didn't want to sell it, but you are Jiang Yuan's friend, just 10,000 yuan." Yang Yaokui's price was a bit high, but his words were really not lying. Although the year is not good, encountering a bear market, the deflated football is always bigger than table tennis, and he doesn't wait for this ten thousand yuan.

"Well, just 10,000." Tang Feng nodded, took out a stack of RMB from the bag he carried with him, which had not been unsealed and handed it to Yang Yaokui.

Later, although Tang Feng and Jiang Yuan both took a fancy to something in Yang Yaokui's collection, the price he offered before was too "real" and neither of them asked for the price. Jiang Yuan believed that the price was too high and had no commercial value, while Tang Feng was able to pick it up because there was no leak.

Soon, the three of them said goodbye to Yang Yaokui and left the Yang family villa together.

Tang Feng was obviously not as good as Chen Yan. Chen Yan told Jiang Yuan about Tang Feng’s judgment just now on the way. Jiang Yuan said to Tang Feng while driving: "Brother Tang, I really admire you. If you don’t say it, I really didn’t see it. I just thought about begging God and worshiping Buddha."

Tang Feng said, "Brother Jiang." This Guanyin Jiang Yuan can earn at least 500,000 yuan, which is the benefit of having too much money. Playing five yuan mahjong and one yuan mahjong are definitely two concepts. Tang Feng’s most feared now is that he encounters such advanced leaks, because he has no money to buy them. When encountering such good things, it is like a gold brick suddenly falling from the sky, and it hits his forehead without bias. The person is knocked out and the gold brick is picked up by someone.

Tang Feng returned to Lin Muyu's residence, and Lin Muyu pulled him back and asked him to tell him what he encountered today. After Tang Feng finished talking to her, he handed her the ivory tablet. Lin Muyu looked at it and said, "Even the tablet of the official tablet is only a few thousand yuan. Of course it makes sense for you to buy it for 10,000 yuan, right?"

"Mu Yu, you are so smart." Tang Feng said: "This thing has a great background."

Lin Muyu asked, "It has a great background. Can you give me an intuitive concept?"

Tang Feng said: "It's hard to say, because his memorial significance is greater than his practical significance. It is definitely not enough to sell it like this. This thing must be auctioned. It should not be a big problem to open a 50,000 or 60,000 yuan at the lowest price. If you happen to meet two or three people who are interested in this thing, then his value will be higher."

The key is the six words "Three Qing Dynasty Daoguang Sanqing". Officials in the Qing Dynasty did not use tablets, but there was a group of people who wanted to use it. This was the opera troupe. They needed tablets as props. Of course, ordinary opera troupes would not use ivory tablets, and only the big names of the opera troupes could use it. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, there happened to be a troupe called "Sanqing", and this opera troupe produced a very famous big name.

"You don't have to take real tablets when acting, it's so expensive." Lin Muyu said.

Tang Feng said: "Of course these big names won't waste their money to buy an ivory tablet. Didn't some fools like to praise the horns in ancient times? Just like modern star-chasers, these are all bought and given to the big names."

Lin Muyu looked at Tang Feng and asked, "Then who is this big name?"
