doomsday prophecy(1/2)

The prophecy of the end of the world

Before Jesus' crucifixion, he promised his disciples that he would come back to the world, and the disciples sincerely asked him, "Tell us when these things are there? What are the signs of your coming and the end of the world? (Matthew 24:3) The disciples raised this question, which not only reflected their urgent hope that their Lord would come soon, but also reflected their belief that God will show people the omens before the end of the day, so that people can prepare early. Jesus' answer was affirmative and clear, pointing out that omens will be displayed in many ways. This is an encouraging guarantee. After Jesus ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit proposed many omens of Christ's coming and the end of the world through the apostles Peter, Paul, John and others, in order to encourage us to prepare mentally and action early, escape from the catastrophe, be saved, and enter a new heaven and new earth.

Below we will discuss the signs of the end of the world in various aspects prophecies of the Bible.

The sign of the sky--the sun turns black and the moon is lightless

Two thousand seven hundred years ago, God told mankind through three prophets, Isaiah, Amos and Joel, that when the world is facing its last days, the stars of the sun and the moon will send signals to warn mankind to prepare for those dangerous days.

"The day of the Lord will come, and there will be cruel, resentment, and wrath, which will make the land desolate and destroy sinners from it. The stars in the heavens will not shine; when the sun comes out, it will become dark, and the moon will not shine." (Isaiah 13:9-10) "The Lord said, 'In that day, I will make the sun fall at noon, and the earth will be dark in the day.'" (Mo 8:9)

“The sun will turn into darkness, and the moon will turn into blood, all before the great and fearful days of the Lord come.” (Joe 2:31)

"The great and fearful day of the Lord" means that the world enters its end, and before it arrives, the wonders of the sun, moon and stars will appear in nature.

Seven hundred years later, Jesus emphasized to his disciples on the Mount of Olives that the prophecies of the above three prophets would inevitably be fulfilled.

"As soon as the disasters of those days passed, the sun turned black, and the moon did not shine. The stars would fall from the sky, and the heavenly power would shake. At that time, the sign of the Son of man would appear in heaven." (Matthew 24:29-30)

Note here: Jesus said that "the disasters of those days" passed, and the omens of the sun, moon and stars in heaven will appear. "The disasters of those days" refer to the great disasters that Roman Church forced the saints in 1260 years mentioned in Matthew 24:21-22 earlier.

The persecution of the saints in 1260 should not end until 1798, but "only for the elect, the days will be reduced." History tells us that by 1773, the Roman Church's claws of persecution of the saints were curbed. When did the omen that these days turned black and the moon did not shine? According to the 1883 edition of the English Webster Dictionary, there is a record on it:

"On May 19, 1780, people called this day the "black day". Because on that day the darkness spread throughout New England, people even couldn't see the words in the book outdoors for hours. Birds sang evening songs, flew back to their resting place, and then quietly, the livestock returned to the stables... The darkness began at 10 a.m. and did not disappear until midnight the next day... No one knows the reason for this wonderful phenomenon."

Later, a writer published an article titled "The First Black Friday in America", detailing the strange natural phenomena and vast scope of that day. He said:

"When the sun gradually rose, a breeze blew from the southwest. At about ten o'clock, a hazy fog suddenly appeared in the sky in the southwest. The fog moved northeast with the wind. After one o'clock, it had reached Canada. The residents of New England were waiting for the storm to come. The darkness became deeper and deeper, and lunch was eaten under candlelight, and schools were all over. The chickens in the forest returned to their nests and the cattle were back in the pen. By one o'clock in the afternoon, the darkness had reached its maximum range. In general, the dark areas included

Main, Newhampsin, Humont, Massachusetts, Ke Nedeque, Rodema, and eastern New York, and the northeast corner of Benseyvania. From the afternoon until the midnight without stars, the darkness gradually deepened, and strange fears came to everyone... Rumors were everywhere, fear and horror were everywhere. For the people who witnessed all this, the darkness of the day, which was like night, came, and there was only one explanation, that is, the day of judgment. "Black Friday" in New England is still one of the unsolved cases on the earth."

(Crown Magazine May 1946)

Some people may say that this is a solar eclipse phenomenon, which is not surprising. How can it be said to be a doomsday sign? Yes, such an ordinary solar eclipse cannot be called a strange sign, nor will it become a unsolved case. But the Bible predicts that "the moon does not shine" and also says that "the full moon turns red like blood" (Revelation 6:12), indicating that this is the full moon. The solar eclipse is caused by the moon between the sun and the earth. On May 19, 1780, the position of the sun, the moon and the earth is not on the same line. Because the moon was full the night before, the moon was full, and on the night of darkness, the American people also had a full moon. "The night of a month became very dark, indeed, as the great astronomer Hershcel said: "The dark sun in North America is one of the strange phenomena in nature,... but philosophy cannot explain it."

Some people may ask, "Why does this omen only happen in the United States? We dare not speculate on God's will, but the residents of the United States are familiar with the Bible. This natural wonder can prompt them to believe the prophecies of the Bible and testify to them. One writer described the reaction of the residents of the land at that time and said:

"Everyone believed that the end of the world was coming, and everyone knelt down in the fields to pray, and many ran to the houses of the consulate to admit their mistakes and demand forgiveness. In every place where there was a chapel, the masses rushed in and listened to the pious old pastor's cry for repentance and prayed to God for the congregation. Everyone was amazed and regretted their previous sins and neglected to God."

(Newhampsin, Anqun Town History 58-59)

The sign of heaven - the falling stars

Jesus was quoted as answering the disciples before: "The stars fall from heaven, and the heavenly power will shake" (Matthew 24:29). When the apostle John saw the end of the world in his vision, he vividly described it: "The stars in the sky fall to the ground, just like a fig tree shaken by the strong wind and fall down unripe fruits." (Revelation 6:13) It can be seen that the fall of the stars is a sign of the end of the world in nature.

The sun, moon, stars can show God's will. As a signal from heaven to mankind, it was regarded as a natural thing in ancient my country. Due to the limitations of scientific level and historical conditions, our ancient ancestors could not give scientific explanations for certain abnormal celestial phenomena. However, on the basis of respecting the Emperor of Heaven, they linked the changes in celestial phenomena with the blessings and the rise and fall of the world and the rise and fall of the regime, and believed that this predicts the good and bad of human affairs, and there is still some reason.

For example, solar eclipse is considered a warning to the supreme ruler. Therefore, "The 17th Year of Zhaogong Zuo Zhuan" says: "If there is a eclipse on the sun, the emperor will not hold it (not killing animals, and not be able to feast), and will cut down the drums in the society (the place where the earth god and the earth god sacrificed to the earth god)." The Book of Rites: Humph Meaning also says: "The sun eclipse will be the emperor and cultivate the duties of the heavenly officials." It means that when a solar eclipse occurs, the emperor should check whether he and all officials can fulfill his duties. For example, the appearance of a comet is considered a bad sign of war disaster; if the year star runs normally to a certain constellation, the states that match it on the earth will flourish. Astrologists also believe that a certain star dictates water and drought, a certain star produces famine, plague, or thieves, are of course subjective speculation and far-fetched. However, it is believed that the true god who dictates the universe can tell humans his will through the changes of celestial phenomena, which is in line with the teachings of the Bible.

Therefore, it is reasonable for God to convey the message through the stars in heaven to the end of the world. When will the signs of falling stars be fulfilled? In 1833, two years after William Miller publicly preached the Advent of Christ, a meteor shower with the largest range and novel phenomena appeared in the United States on November 13, which was the author Devins once described this:

"At that time, sparks were shining in the sky of the whole United States for several hours. Since the founding of the United States, no vision in heaven has occurred, which makes one type of people look very appreciative, while the other type of people are in panic."

"This brilliant and terrifying wonder is still lingering in the hearts of many people today... Even the raindrops have never been denser than the meteors that fell on the ground this time; it is the same in the east, south and north. In short, the whole sky seems to be shaking...

This phenomenon can be seen throughout North America, as Professor Siriman's daily newspaper described... From 2:00 a.m. until dawn, the sky was clear and cloudless, and the whole sky kept emitting brilliant light."

(See "America's Progress and the Great Facts of the Greatest Century" Chapter 1-5)

There are also two authors who witnessed this wonder of the universe, describing their feelings at that time:

"There is really no words that describe the magnificent wonder,... If we had not witnessed this scene personally, there would be no sufficient concept of its brilliance. It seemed that the stars in the sky were concentrated near the point of the celestial celestial, and then shot at all aspects of the horizon at a great speed, and could not be shot entirely... Tens of millions of meteors rushed toward the longitudinal traces of tens of millions of meteors, which seemed to be specially created for this opportunity."

(See "Christian Debate" December 13, 1833)

"I saw the gorgeous scenery with my own eyes, and was amazed that the sky seemed to be filled with the messengers of light descending from the sky. When I saw this solemn beauty, it was almost dawn. It cannot be said that it was not an implied sign but a precursor to the coming of Christ.

...I have read about the words that the stars will fall from the sky, and now they are falling from the sky." (Feled Douglas's "Binding and Freedom")

Some people may find it strange, why are these omens not global? Because only those who are close to the prophecies of the Bible can understand this meaning. At that time, the Bible had not been translated into the language of many countries.

Dear friend, it is not too late to know now, it makes you know that you are at the beginning of the end of world history.

Omens on the ground

When the disciples asked Jesus, "Tell us, what are the signs of your coming and the end of the world?" Jesus once replied, "You must also hear the calls of war and war, and do not panic, because these things must be done; but the end has not yet arrived. The people will attack the people, and the nation will attack the nation; there will be famines and earthquakes in many places." (Matthew 24:3-7)

Have these signs of occurrence on earth come into effect the above predictions? The following are slightly checked:

1. The call for war and war is that the people must attack the people, and the country must attack the people.

This means that war, including civil war and war between international wars, is a significant omen of the end of the world.

War has existed since ancient times, and its harm is well known. "Wars fighting for the city, killing people fills the city; fighting for the land, killing people fills the field", "Soldiers are weapons", "A general's success has resulted in thousands of bones drying", "The corpse fills the shore of the Jagang, and the blood fills the caves of the Great Wall, both of which are dry bones... It has not been prosperous for thousands of miles, but the skeletons are everywhere. Is it so?" These poems in our ancient poems express the people's disgust and fear of war.

Since the world entered its "end" period, in the 19th and 20th centuries, wars have continued frequently and the harm has become increasingly severe. Let's look at our history first:

1840-1842 Opium War Against Britain

1857-1860 Britain, France launched the Second Opium War against my country

1883-1885 Sino-French War

1894-1895 Sino-Japanese War of 1895

1900 Eight-Nation Alliance Suppresses Chinese People

The Russo-Japanese War on 1904 took place in Northeast my country

1937-1945 Anti-Japanese War

According to statistics, during the War of Resistance Against Japan (1937-1945), the number of casualties in our country:

Deaths of 9325,000

9470,000 injured

The number of people who were caught by the enemy was missing is 2890,000

Total: 21685,000 people (excluding the number of casualties and missing persons in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and Taiwan provinces.

According to statistics from the "History of the Pacific War" compiled by the Japanese Society for Historical Research, the number of casualties in my country in the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japan was 35 million, which is relatively close to reality.

World War was divided into local wars and world wars. Both world wars took place in the 20th century, known as the civilization era, and the battle situation became more and more intense. World War I (1914-1918) was about 15 million people died, and World War II (1939-1945) was 55 million people died, more than four times that of the last war. In the past, the "Cold War" was approaching again, and people were often afraid that the "Cold War" would break out into a "Hot War".

Local wars can be said to have never stopped on Earth. Someone made such statistics:

From 1891 to May 1945, a total of 116 local wars broke out, with an average of 2.5 times a year. Among them, the largest and most intense was the Balkan War in 1913, with five countries participating and two sides investing 2 million troops.

From 1945 to 1960, a total of 126 local wars broke out, with an average of five times a year. The largest of them was the Vietnam War, with eight countries and groups participating, with 2.7 million soldiers. After twelve years and twenty-six days of fighting, the number of casualties was 350,000 in the United States and 1.55 million in Vietnam.

From 1961 to 2005, there were about 60 local wars, the largest being the Fourth Middle East War in October 1973, with five countries having 1.7 million troops. The war between Iran and Iraq, the Gulf War caused by Iraq's annexation of Kuwait, and the war between the United States invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, and the war between soldiers and Iraq, and the disasters that caused trouble, must have a deep impression on my friends.

In short, the 20th century is the era of civilization and war. Local wars have never stopped. The great harm of war is that it endangers people's lives and property, and it is known to future generations. Politicians, scientists, popular groups and forums of the United Nations have called for the prevention of war and the establishment of peace. Why do war elements always incite war to cause war, causing the Nazis and militarists of World War II to rekindle and continue to clamor? This is the evidence that it has become a sign of the end of the world.

Where is the root of the war? The religious Ellen White made a sensible remark:

"Satan likes war the most because war can arouse the worst emotions of mankind, and then when they are addicted to sin and blood, he will sweep them all into permanent death. Satan's purpose is to incite the nations to fight against each other; in this way, he can divert people's minds and ignore the preparations they should be engaged in standing up in the day of God." ("Fighting Good and Evil" Chapter 36, "The Nearing Fight")

2. There will be famine and plague in many places, and the earth will be greatly shaken (Luke 21:11; Matthew 24:17).

1. There will be famine in many places

Some people say that since ancient times, due to the existence of natural disasters such as water, drought, wind, insects, and backward production technology, clumsy production tools and low harvests, how can it be said to be a sign of doomsday?

Yes, in ancient history, there are records that in the nine years of the Yu period of Xia, the Tang of Shang encountered a drought in seven years. Politicians believed that "the world is hungry and the heavens are traveling, and the Yu Tang was brought to him." (Jia Yi·On the Sutra of Accumulation and Storage) means that the year is good or bad, famine or harvest is a natural law and has nothing to do with the wise and unrestrained kings. He suggested that agricultural production should be paid attention to and accumulate food to prevent famine.

But the question now is: the world is entering the late stage, with knowledge growing, science developed, agricultural technology becoming increasingly advanced, grain production increasing, and famines still occurring in many places. Can it be said that it is normal? Surprisingly, some areas have overeat of food, destroying agricultural products, while the global hungry people are increasing day by day. Can this blame natural disasters?

According to historical statistics: the famine in 1016 affected 30 million people;

The famine in 1162 affected 80 million people;

The famine in 1344 affected 90 million people in India;

The famine in 1769 affected 103 million people;

The famine in 1877 affected 116 million people in China;

The famine in 1920 affected 255 million people in Europe;

The famine in 1946 affected 500 million people in Europe, India and China, accounting for about a quarter of the global population.

According to some figures provided by the Food Organization of the United Nations, it is chilling.

In the 1970s, the number of hungry people around the world increased by 15 million, with an average annual increase of 1.5 million.

In the first five years of the 1980s (1980-1985), the number of hungry people increased by 40 million, an increase of eight million each year.

In 1987, the world's hungry people reached 512 million (according to the World Bank's estimate, it was 730 million), which was much higher than the 316 million in 1970. Of the 500 million hungry people, 60% were in Asia, 25% were in Africa, 10% were in Latin America, and 5% were in the Middle East.

In 1991, 520 million people were hungry worldwide, and 40,000 children died of hunger every day.

Why is the famine in the world so serious? There is an article by a journalist who analyzes it as follows:

1) A rich country has a full granary and overeats; a poor country has hungry people to endure hunger.

2) There is an unfair international trade system.

3) The political situation in some countries has been turbulent for a long time and war is constantly ongoing.

4) Natural disasters, including floods, droughts, typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, desert expansion, etc., occur frequently.

5) Many countries do not put the development of agriculture, especially grain production, first.
To be continued...
