Chapter 10 To His Highness the Princess (4)
With Princess Navarra's shouts, the soldiers' eyes were cast towards the Count of Ile de France and his group.
Hongdao smiled and reached his hand under the table: "This princess is really... unusual."
"Catch them!" The soldier's commander issued an order. At that time, the Earl of France and his group had already lifted the table towards the roadside. The white bow jumped up and stepped onto the table that had not yet fallen. Using this as a relay point, he turned around lightly and jumped onto the tent on the stall. After several lifts and falls, his feet stepped onto the solid roof. The red knife turned directly and rushed into a shop. Facing the wall blocking the front, he shouted loudly and slashed the knife in his hand. The wall was immediately opened and a big hole was opened, connecting the road on the other side.
The Count of Ile de France grabbed the hand of the Black Flat and pulled him through the "door" opened by the red knife. Several soldiers broke into the shop. As soon as they passed the "door", several arrows shot down from above the roof like beads and hit the back of their heads.
"White bow, jump from above!" Hongdao roared, grabbed a big stone mill on the side of the road and threw it at the shop. More than ten seconds later, the shop collapsed and turned into a pile of ruins.
Only the princess of Navarra was caught and locked up in a dungeon.
The whole space was filled with the smell of carrion. A pot of boiling oil rolled in front of Princess Navarra. A shirtless soldier waved his whip in the air. In the empty dungeon, the sound had a terrifying echo.
A bunch of torches illuminated Princess Navarra's side face. An official held a paper and a pen and looked at her with a blank expression, tied tightly to the wooden frame with a hemp rope.
"I will ask you questions next, many questions, you'd better answer honestly." The official said, "If the answer is wrong - you should have seen what is in front of you."
Princess Navarra nodded.
"What did you want to attack the Duke of Aquitaine in the street?" asked the official.
"Of course I want to kill the Duke of Aquitaine." Princess Navarra smiled, "It's okay to cut his neck or penetrate his heart."
"So, do you admit you're an assassin?"
"yes."
The official recorded the princess' answer on paper.
"Do you have any accomplices?"
"Yes, there are four, you all saw it at that time. They are my brothers."
"Where is your stronghold?"
"We just arrived in Bordeaux and had no strongholds. We came by boat. Today we just docked and didn't even find a place to stay. If you want to catch people, then block the port, take a look at all the hostels in Bordeaux at night, and set up an ambush on the road leading to Paris."
"Are they your brother?" the official raised his head, "You just betray them?"
"They ran away today and didn't help at all." Princess Navarra said angrily, "I hate them and I wish they died."
"Don't use tricks. I often judge prisoners and can understand your eyes." The official stared at Princess Navarra's eyes. But after a while, he nodded: "Okay, this malice seems to be true."
He waved his hand to signal a soldier to come over and handed the few papers he had just written to the soldier: "Take this record immediately to the Duke of Aquitaine so that he can take measures."
Princess Navarra laughed horrificly.
"Be arrested." She thought silently in her heart.
"Die with me!" She cursed with her greatest malice.
——This is her revenge.
"Then, keep asking." The official's voice was like a basin of ice water, pouring straight down from the head of Princess Navarra, "Before that, whip her fifty whips."
"Wait a minute! Why?" Princess Navarra opened her eyes widened, "I have answered everything you just asked!"
"No special reason," replied the official, "it just suddenly rises up and wants to do this."
The soldier holding the whip turned his head and approached Princess Navarra. With his hand raised, the whip made another "pop" sound in the air. The sound was so powerful that once it was pulled onto the skin, it would have to be broken.
"No...how can you do this? I answered it all! All answered!" Princess Navarra twisted her body in panic, but her hands and feet were tightly tied with hemp ropes. Her weak struggle only made the rope fall deeper into the flesh. "This is unreasonable, not reasonable at all!"
"Reasonable? What is your identity?" The official laughed sarcastically, "Assassin who attempted to assassinate the Duke, wants to be reasonable? Add ten whips to her!"
The whip fell mercilessly on Princess Navara's body. The burning pain pierced the brain along the spine, causing Princess Navara to cry heart-wrenchingly. Tears, saliva and snot flowed out together, her eyes turned pale and she was almost fainting.
"The first whip." said the official lightly, "There are fifty-nine whips left, continue."
The whip continued to hit Princess Navara's body, and each whip was more painful than before. The heart-wrenching cry resounded throughout the dungeon, and the official just opened a bottle of wine indifferently and put it in a small cup to wash and taste it. When the nineteenth whip was hit, Princess Navara finally couldn't hold on and fainted. The official shook his head bored and put down the wine glass.
A basin of cold water woke up Princess Navarra.
"Remember the remaining whip first and continue to answer my questions. I am satisfied with the answer. It is not that I can't help but eliminate the whip." The official grabbed the pen and put it on the paper, then looked up at Princess Navarra, "What are your three brothers, and where are they from?"
Princess Navarra was so scared that she shivered all over.
"They...they're called Hongdao...white bow...black balance..."
The official frowned: "I'm not asking for nickname."
"I don't know their names...I only know their nicknames."
"Aren't they your brother?"
"Yes, I...no! I..."
"Water her some more water and wake up." The official ordered coldly, "Salt Water."
"No...I really don't know, I really don't know anything! Please, let me go...I am the princess of Navarra! I am the princess of Navarra!"
"Navara? Princess?" the official laughed coldly, "Even if you are, in this case, you are nothing, do you understand?"
——Ah, right.
She remembered that Navarra had already destroyed the country. Generally speaking, the princess of the kingdom could only be...
slave.
In the dungeon, there were once again creepy howlings.
She fainted. In her dream, she was still suffering from tragic whipping and scorching by the hellish fire.
Three church bells awakened her.
“Three o'clock in the afternoon, snack time…”
She opened her eyes with a glimmer of hope, but the biting pain from the wound followed. She found that she was still tied to a wooden pillar, but the location had changed from a dungeon to an outdoor. Countless civilians, countless pairs of eyes were looking at her below, and under the pillar, piles of thatch had been piled up.
