Chapter 3: War Means (4)

"Brother Eber, we really want to help these people from the pirate kingdom find merchant ships?"

The nobles who walked out of the tavern complained with some dissatisfaction.

"In this way, aren't we completely running errands?"

As Ebert walked towards the port, he replied, "I feel uncomfortable, too. But I think so - the thieves are in the Federation, and if they are the nobles, they will feel a little better if they think about it."

"It seems they didn't come with us. How about we run away?" another nobleman whispered, "If we escape, even if the Pirate Kingdom and the Federation of Almany go to war, we will not become hostages. There is no need to destroy a thief organization that may have connections with the Duke of Normandy. Isn't this offending the Duke of Normandy?"

Eber's steps stopped.

"Will this lose the honor of the noble?"

"We didn't have to participate. It was the Pirate Kingdom that forced us! It would be fine if we rowed a few oars for dinner. If we really fought with the thieves to prove our strength, we would have been Bjorn's trap!"

Eber lowered his head and thought for a while.

"First learn about the situation of these thieves, and then make a judgment."

While speaking, they had arrived at the port. Eber found a ship full of cargo and climbed up with a group of nobles.

Seeing a group of fully armed men boarding the ship, the people on the deck were startled. A sailor ran over and said, "Guest, our ship has been packaged..."

Ebert lit up the heralds of his family: "We will temporarily requisition this merchant ship and call you, the one in charge."

Other nobles also showed off their family's emblems one after another.

It was like throwing a huge rock into the calm dividing lake. After a while, the captain ran over. After a while, several merchants hurried to the deck:

"Master, what's going on? What happened? We're going to go out to sea tomorrow."

"I heard there were a group of pirates entrenched nearby," Eber asked, "Is it true?"

"Yes, are there. Are the men here to wipe out those pirates?"

The businessman smiled and replied:

"But, the master doesn't have to worry about us. We spent money to buy the ship logo of the Pirate Kingdom. The ship was protected by the Swedish king, and no pirate dared to touch us."

"Buy the ship logo of the Pirate Kingdom?" Eber was very surprised. "You are from the Allegiance of Almany. This is the waters of the Allegiance of Almany. Why do you have to spend money to ask the King of Sweden to buy asylum??"

"You guys don't go out to sea often, so I don't know. Whether it's the North Sea, the Mediterranean Sea or the Baltic Sea, as long as the flag of the Pirate Kingdom is raised, no one dares to touch our ships. This is more cost-effective."

"Nonsense!" a nobleman cursed with his eyes, "It's fine if the North Sea and the Baltic Sea are separated by the Mediterranean and the Pirate Kingdom! Is the flag of the Almanean Federation useful? Why should you rely on the flag of the Pirate Kingdom to protect your safety in the Mediterranean?"

The merchants were startled by the sudden anger of the nobles and quickly explained: "The Republic of Liguria in the Mediterranean and the Pirate Kingdom have an agreement. If the ships with the Pirate Kingdom are robbed, they will assist in the attack. As for the Almani Federation..."

As the faces of the nobles in front of him became increasingly ugly, the voices of the merchants gradually became smaller:

"Although it doesn't sound nice... but... the flag of the Almany Federation... is indeed... not useful."

"Absurd! Are you still from the Almani Federation?" A nobleman immediately cursed. Ebert even grabbed one of the merchants' collars, stared at him, and said:

"I tell you that not long ago, the Pirate King's own cargo ships of the Pirate Kingdom were robbed. Do you still believe that they can protect your cargo safety?"

"What, Pirate King's ship? We... haven't we heard of it?"

"I'm afraid I don't dare to tell you." A nobleman said gloatingly, "I can't say that this group of new pirates are specialized in robbing cargo ships with the flag of the Pirate Kingdom."

The merchants were immediately at a loss: "This...this...this...this...this is true? Then our goods..."

"Don't be afraid, we are here to wipe out these new pirates this time." Eber let go of his hand, "You hang the flag of the Pirate Kingdom and sail in the direction of Zeland. As nobles of the Federation of Almany, we will ensure your navigation safety with honor."

He thought that these merchants would be grateful, but the merchants whispered in dismay. After a while, a merchant walked up to Eber and bowed apologetically: "Sorry, lord, please come here specially. We... decided to give up the sea and take the land."

"What's going on?" Eber raised his eyebrows, "Will you have a lot more time by land? You businessmen often say that time is money, so profits will be reduced a lot, right?"

"But...but..." The merchant dodged Eber's eyes, "It's better to have a lower profit than being robbed of empty goods and then kidnapped and asked for ransom..."

"What's going on with you guys!" The nobles behind Eber yelled out in irresistible, "We will ensure your safety, right? Are you deaf in your ears?"

"This...but...this..."

Looking at the increasingly angry nobles in front of them and looking at the cargo in the cabin behind them, the merchants were so anxious that they almost burst into tears.

Just then—

"Ye, Eber, have you found the ship so soon?"

Bjorn followed the three pirates from behind. Eberd immediately became alert: "How do you know we are on this ship?"

"I can't just ask you to find a boat and rest in the tavern." Bjorn shrugged, "I've been following you all the time."

——In other words, if Eber was about to escape just now, Bjorn would catch up at any time.

Eber took a breath and was about to say something, but the group of merchants on the deck were already overjoyed and shouted: "They are the men of the Hero Kingdom! Why, it turns out that you are from the same group?"

"Yes? What's wrong with a bunch of people?" Bjorn didn't understand what was going on, and replied directly, "There are a bunch of pirates here who have robbed our Hero King's ships, and we are preparing to wipe them out."

"Why didn't you say it earlier! We'll be relieved." The merchants happily surrounded Bjorn's hand and held Bjorn's hand. "We just said that the cargo ship was robbed. How could the Kingdom of Heroes not move in such a big deal? Come on, sit in the cabin, I'll bring you some bottles of wine. That's the highest-end cargo ship brought from overseas..."

Bjorn did not expect to be so welcomed, and was pulled into the cabin for no reason. However, the group of Almani nobles were left on the deck, and their faces became increasingly ugly.

"Brother Eber, look at this..."
