Chapter 15 Atlantis? (2)
"Well, my brain hurts so I can't think about any problem."
Ella walked out of the cabin with dark circles and dragged her tired body. Since the pseudo-map incident, she has been soaking in the room for several days before finally walking out of the cabin door today.
She wanted to blow the sea breeze and wake up her mind, but unfortunately, the deck was as dull as in the cabin. Apart from the sea water and sea water, only the black clouds piled up in the sky were particularly eye-catching.
"Is it going to rain? No, where am I now? What are I doing?"
Even in Gotland, Ella spent half of her time sleeping on the flying zombies. When she woke up, she found that it was a normal thing to be on the ship. Ella's mind was blank now, just as those who had irregular routines sometimes couldn't tell whether it was day or night when they woke up.
She shook her head to make her head clear. The memories buried by complex academic questions gradually revived, answering her questions one by one - she was exploring a new route to Wenlan and chasing Lubeck's merchant ship.
"Well, what day has it been for the sea? How many days have you saved the Lubeck sailor? Surveyor? Surveyor!"
As soon as Ella shouted, the pirate who was a surveyor hurriedly ran over from one side of the deck. He spread a simple and shoddy sea chart in front of Ella. The North Sea area on the map was extremely deformed - but there was no way, the slightly more accurate chart had been torn off by Ella a few days ago.
"King of Sweden, we should be here now, maybe here, of course, maybe here... I can't accurately mark this ghost map, you see, Ireland and England should have been two islands, and the map was even connected by land!"
The person responsible for the measurement was a student who had not graduated from the school in Gotland. He was also a small officer among the pirates. Because of his excellent grades, he was selected by Ella as the surveyor for this navigation and was responsible for manipulating the sextant.
At the moment, he seemed a little worried.
"The island marked by the Aztlands is just a random stroke and cannot be located with longitude and latitude at all. If the Swedish king continues to sail like this, I am worried that we will miss Atlantis and Wenlan and run all the way to India!"
However, before Ella could speak, a pirate laughed "puff":
"I'm still India. Did you learn it in vain? The circumference of the earth is fifty times the distance from Saini to Alexander, totaling 39,360 kilometers. Do you think, where are we running now?"
After hearing this, the surveyor drew a stroke on the known map with his hands for a while, and then smiled a little apologetically:
"Indeed, no matter how you calculate it, it's still far away."
Ella nodded with satisfaction: "It was the circumference of the earth determined by Elatoseni, a scholar of the Seven Hill Empire, a thousand and one hundred years ago, through the shadow of the summer solstice. He is also the founder of the coordinates of the longitude and latitude line, and provides a theoretical basis for the use of my sextant. Your homework is pretty good."
While talking, Amy hurried over with a pirate officer.
"Your Majesty, you are finally out. We are just about to come to find you!"
"Look for me?"
Ella became serious. The officer's cabin behind Amy was on the right side of the first floor below the deck, and it was closer to the bow than Ella's room. In other words, he was the captain who actually commanded the flight of the Sealander. Things that neither he nor Amy could solve must be of great importance.
"Your Majesty, we just discovered Lubeck's fleet ahead." Amy said first, "I was originally going to get the flying Zelan to catch up with him."
"Really? It's great! Then what are you waiting for? Let the pulp hand prepare first..."
"But the King of Sweden, looking at the weather, a storm is coming soon." The pirate officer said, "For the safety of the ship, we must collect the sails."
As a huge ship as the flying Zelan, the power provided by the oars is actually very limited. Its function is mainly to make the ship more flexible in close-range naval battles. Most of the speed of the ocean sails is still pressed on the sails on the nine masts. The sea is no more than land. Although I saw Lubeck's merchant ships, there is actually a very long distance between the two. Taking off the sails means letting the Lubeck merchant ships that I have worked hard to catch up with.
Therefore, the officer's suggestion made Ella frown: "Cake off the sail? Now? Isn't it just a little more windy and catch up?"
"If the sails are not removed, the mast will be broken." The pirate officer patted the mast beside him. "Although the mast looks strong, ordinary wind can already push the flying zealand. When the wind becomes stronger, a long pole that is so high is very fragile."
Ella was a little embarrassed. Her experience in sailing was not as good as that of these pirates. Logically speaking, it should have been handled by the officer. But it was a pity to let Lubeck run away from the merchant ship like this.
While hesitating, she turned her gaze to the sea - the sea was extremely calm, without wind or waves. There was nothing unusual except the dark cumulus clouds in the distance.
"It seems that there is no wind now." She asked, "I should be able to wait a little longer. There is no need to close the sails so early, right?"
"King of Sweden, the storm comes very quickly! It will be too late!"
"…Have Lübeck's merchant ship also retracted?"
"One hundred percent," said the pirate officer. "Since he was sent to perform ocean-going missions, he must be experienced sailors. They know the dangers of the storm!"
So Ella walked to the bow of the boat a few steps and shouted at the soldiers on the watchtower:
"Look, have those Lübeck merchant ships retracted?"
"No!" shouted the soldiers on the watchtower, "There are sails hanging! Your emblem is painted on it!"
"This is impossible! Have you shown it clearly?" the pirate officer cursed below, "Will Lübeck's merchant ship know that the storm is coming?"
"Don't worry, Amy, go to my cabin to get the Eye of Hermes." Ella said, "Create it, is there any sail hanging?"
The soldiers on the watchtower climbed down, took the simple Eye of Hermes from Amy's cabin from Ella, and then climbed back to the watchtower:
"Always hung!" cried the soldier, "The deck is very busy, but not busy collecting the sails. They are sailing at full speed!"
"This is discovering us. If we chase them today, they will deliberately avoid them. It will be difficult to find them again in the future." Ella said, "Since they have not taken away the sails, we will not take them away, so we will chase them!"
"You are still the King of Sweden, you are considerate." The pirate officer nodded admiringly, "Indeed, the Lübecks are not cowardly. If I didn't notice and took the sails early, they would become their gray grandson! I will let the crew chase after them all!"
