Chapter 10 Negotiation (4)
I don’t know whether it was within Ella’s expectations or not, although strict conditions were given, Bjorn came to the bottom of the city wall early the next morning. Hundreds of guards, as well as bound knights and entourages came with Bjorn.
According to Ella's prediction, Bjorn's military rations will be exhausted tomorrow at the latest. But Bjorn's face could not see any despair, but instead looked majestic. This made Ella a little uneasy. If Bjorn started to attack the city with a back-to-back battle, then today would probably be very difficult.
So she shouted to Bjorn on the wall: "Bjorn! I didn't say you can bring so many people! If you want to negotiate, just enter the city alone!"
"Yes. They'll wait outside first." Bjorn said, "I'll come in alone, open the city gate."
Seeing Bjorn agreeing so readily, Ella became even more uneasy. She whispered to the soldiers around her:
"Are Grahyide's archers ready?"
"Returning to the Swedish king, he is ready to shoot at any time. Hundreds of archers should be enough to suppress Bjorn so that he can't let out large magic."
"What about the expected trap, is it completed?"
"It's done. If they want to climb the city wall with a ladder, they will fall directly into the pit designed for Tessomok. If they want to pour directly into the city gate, without our guidance, they will fall into the pit designed for Izkoyatel."
"Where is the giant crossbow? Is it done?"
"It's done and has been put on the wall, and it can definitely penetrate Chimal Popoka's defense!"
Ella felt relieved. This was a trap designed by her four people, Tsosomok, Chimal Popoka, Izkoyater and Bjorn. Now Chimal Popoka is dead and Tesosomok is captured, and there is no reason not to stop the remaining two people.
The city gate opened. Bjorn walked in calmly until the city gate was closed again, and no abnormal movements were seen from the soldiers behind him.
"I pay attention to Bjorn's actions, and your Majesty, you are always tense." On the way to the scheduled negotiation site, Amy kept whispering in Ella's ear, "As soon as you find Bjorn's movement, you will immediately pinch my hand, and I will immediately throw a fireball outside as a signal. Your Majesty has a dragon contract, so don't be afraid of ordinary wounds. I will also use the protection of the God of Love to interfere with Bjorn's actions. Just be careful not to be taken hostage by Bjorn. Graheide lies outside with thousands of soldiers. As long as Your Majesty is not caught, Bjorn cannot escape."
"Gu--! I feel like I am the weaker side in the negotiation!"
"There is no way, Bjorn knows the details of my Majesty and I. Your Majesty himself knows magic, so it's just that trouble... Bjorn, give us the weapons in your hand first!"
After a while of struggle, both sides finally sat down at the negotiating table. There was only one person on Bjorn, and his weapons had been removed. Ayra gathered a large number of pirates, staring at Bjorn fiercely. This was specially arranged by Ayra, with the purpose of overwhelming Bjorn.
Milk and bread were placed on the negotiation table.
"Bjorn, I didn't expect that if I offered such a condition, you would come to negotiate."
As soon as she opened her mouth, Ella tried to suppress Bjorn's arrogance. She pushed the milk and bread in front of Bjorn and continued, "I guess you are hungry. There are bread and milk here, you can eat as much as you want, we have as much as we want."
Bjorn glanced at the bread, and did not move, but replied:
"Who made some people so weak and timid? Negotiating outside the city really made it difficult for her. Negotiation here is much more just."
"That's really great for your care. If you don't talk about this, just eat some bread first." Ella pushed the bread closer to Bjorn. "Although it's not a delicacy, the messenger you sent yesterday was eating it under the city wall."
"I tied them up and whipped them." Bjorn replied lightly, "We are not beggars and do not accept the alms of the enemy. We are pirates, and we will snatch whatever we want. The bread and milk you give will make them eye the city of Winchester."
One confrontation ends. Ella tries to make Bjorn admit that he is in danger of food shortage, while Bjorn's answer is to tell Ella that they will attack Winchester City if necessary.
Ella frowned.
"Since you have already made such a sense of awareness, what do you want to negotiate this time?"
"I caught a few English knights. You saw it, right under the city," said Bjorn. "As far as I know, they are very important figures to England. I will give you a chance to give them some conditions to redeem them."
"It's just a few soldiers riding horses, right?" Ella shrugged, "It's okay if you want to change it. It just so happens that there are hundreds of Aztlan prisoners here, wasting our food in vain. One change the other, how many of you are here?"
"King of Sweden, this is a kind reminder to you. Your subordinates are all from the pirate kingdom, and I don't want to fight to the death with my own people. In order to avoid the situation to an irreversible level, you'd better negotiate with me seriously." Bjorn stared at Ella, "I don't need the Aztlands. What I want is ransom, but not gold coins, but food and grass. You redeem these knights for us for fifteen days, and then we both sign an armistice agreement. We return to Scotland, and both sides will stop there. This is my condition."
"If you want food and grass? Still want to withdraw it?" Ella made herself laugh deliberately, "Bjorn, I want to do business, the important thing is that the price is fair. You don't really think I need these knights back, right?"
"It may be a good thing for you to not come back, so that you will have a chance to control England. But if you don't want these knights, my subordinates will kill them under the walls in front of all the Winchesters." Bjorn stared at Ella, "All Winchesters know that I came to the city to negotiate, alone, full of sincerity. If those knights die like this, many Englishmen will point their fingers at you. If you have plans to control England, it will soon go bankrupt. If you don't have plans to control England, your ally with England will be shaken."
Ella was stunned. Letting Bjorn come to the city to negotiate, one to ensure her safety, and the other is that if Bjorn agrees, she will show her timidity. She never thought that this would be used by Bjorn and become a bargaining chip for him to threaten herself.
"After this, my subordinates are desperate and will forcibly attack the city. Although they may not be able to capture, we will definitely make you pay the price of bleeding. Most of the soldiers guarding Winchester are from Sweden. Letting their subordinates die for a no longer reliable ally is a choice that only fools will make."
Bjorn suddenly slapped the table, which scared Ella.
