Chapter 5: The Warriors in the Exotic (3)

The wind blew towards us, and the woods on both sides quickly retreated, forming a green line. Soon, the eyes suddenly became clear. The sky took a long breath and escaped from the trap of dense branches and leaves. Amy hugged Fenrier's neck tightly and let it stop on a raised high ground. Through this high ground, Ella was able to observe the battle situation not far away.

The first thing that caught my eye was Graheide and his archers, who took another high ground ahead as their position, but for some reason they did not shoot arrows; then Ella saw the Southampton men, like the team that had previously lie in the forest, wearing cloth clothes. They formed a circle and surrounded the enemy, but for some reason they did not step forward.

Surrounded by the circular array were the fifty enemies in the report. They also formed a circular array, facing enemies in each direction. Compared with the Southampton team, the number of people was too small that Ella almost ignored them. They carried an eagle-shaped helmet and were decorated with colorful decorations. As for the material of the shield and weapons, Ella could not see clearly because it was too far away - but through this information, Ella had already confirmed that these people were the Aztlans who visited Gotland before.

In the middle of the round formation was a very tall enemy, who thought he was the enemy's commander. He was naked, carrying a wolf tooth stick thicker than his thigh on his shoulder with one hand, and holding a large shield that was obviously more delicate than others in the other hand. From both sides of his mouth, rolling black smoke kept coming out for some reason.

There were more than a dozen people tied up and kneeling on the ground in the round formation, which looked like English civilians who were caught by the enemy. They lowered their heads and kept silent because their mouths were blocked. The enemy did not say a word. Even the troops of Southampton and Graheide did not make any noise. The two sides confronted each other with wide eyes, and no one was willing to take the lead.

Fenrier jumped off the high ground and brought Ella and Amy to Graheide's position.

"What's going on now?" Ella shouted to Grahead, "Why not launch an attack?"

Graheide raised his hand and showed Ella his empty quiver.

"When we arrived, the Southampton troops had already shown signs of retreating. Fortunately, we shot the ground in time. But this group of enemies was very difficult to deal with. They used magic to shift all the arrows we shot to the shield. Look, their shields were full of our arrows. After we shot the arrows, we only killed three or four people. During this period, the Southampton troops gathered again, but they seemed to be afraid of being beaten and were reluctant to step forward. Fortunately, the enemy was tired, so we surrounded them here and waited for you to come to Sweden."

"The enemy is so brave?"

Ella asked a team of soldiers to run back to the forest and gathered arrows from the rear troops to transport them here. Then, she asked quietly behind Amy, "Amy, are they really 'self'?"

Amy closed her eyes and opened it for a long time before she opened it and shook her head: "There is indeed magic, but it is very weak. It should only be around the 'entry' level. No one reached the 'self' level."

"How is that possible?" Grahyide was anxious. "Although I am not as good as you, I have also learned magic. As for their performance just now, I feel that the 'self' level is low. Maybe a few of them have reached the natural level!"

"I don't doubt you, I also know that fifty entry-level people cannot stop the team of more than a thousand people." Amy seemed very embarrassed, "but their magic is indeed only at the entry-level level, which is far from the 'self'."

Ella was puzzled. She didn't understand magic, and the words of Graheide and Amy sounded very reasonable, but how could human magic suddenly reach the self-level level and be only introductory at once? What's more, it's more than just one person?

In her opinion, these "Aztlanders" were filled with mystery. Since they could find fifty self-level magicians to form a team, they were definitely not a small country. But she had never read this country in any document, and did not know where the country was, how big the country was, and whether it was connected by land with this continent. Such a country would suddenly appear near the capital of Britain and attack an army of thousands of people. The doubts in it were so deep that even if she told her that Aztland suddenly emerged from the water, she was willing to accept it.

After continuing to observe for a while, I guessed that the replenished arrows were about to arrive. Ella climbed down Fenrier and let the Southampton men separate. He came to the front of the group of enemies with Amy, Grahyide and a team of archers. The people along the way handed over the remaining bows and arrows for use by Grahyide and others.

Seeing this action, the enemy's circular formation also separated. The tall commander stared at Ella in the circular formation, gasping like a wild beast, and sucking and spitting smoke from the corner of his mouth.

"I am the King of Sweden under the Hero Kingdom's flag, Ella Cornelius Scipio!" Ella reported her identity loudly, "Who are you?"

"Woman is the king?" The commander laughed clearly with a sarcasm, smashed the vine shield to the ground, and pointed his empty hand at his chest, "The leader of the eagle warrior of Trakopanbang of the Aztland Empire, "Smoke Shield" Chimar Popoka!"

Ella nodded: "Qimalpopoka, I don't know what the entanglement between you and Britain, but Alfred is my ally and the entire Hero Kingdom. What you see now is the vanguard, and my army is coming towards this side. You have no chance of winning. Depending on the situation, other lords of the Hero Kingdom will also send troops, and no success in any strategy."

As he said that, Ella glanced at Chimal Popoka's weapon. As in the report, it was not made of metal, but of some kind of black stone. Since a leader who seemed to have a good identity was using such a sword, then the Aztland Empire could not have metallurgy.

"Put down your weapons, release the prisoners of war behind you, and leave Britain. I can consider saving your lives." Ella said, "If your king has sufficient funds, you can also send representatives to study at the University of Gotland. Even if you can't learn iron smelting and learn some copper smelting techniques, it's better than if you use stones as weapons?"

"Let down your weapon?"

Chimal Popoka put away his sword, took a spear from his subordinates with his backhand. Seeing that Chimal Popoka had murderous intentions in his eyes, the soldiers who dispersed quickly gathered to block Ayra's front. But this action made Chimal Popoka laugh even more:

"Coward! If you want my heart, come and get it yourself!"
