Chapter 12 Is it Paracelsus? (6)

There is a greedy alchemist.

God favored him, gave him wisdom, and gave him insight into the greatest knowledge of the world at a young age. He could turn rivers into silver with a stomp and mountains into gold with a wave of his hand. If he shed tears, what fell to the ground were pearls.

God favored him and gave him magic so that no malice could harm him. His breath could turn into fire that burned out, and saliva could turn into poison that corrodes everything. If he was angry, everything would end under his will.

Endless wealth is sprinkled by the road, let him pick it up, and endless glory is hung on the tree, let him pick it up.

However, the terrible greed made him unable to satisfy him forever. He mastered all the wisdom of the world and surrendered to the sky. He asked God: "How did you create this world? You gave me all wisdom, but why did you hide the mystery of creation from me?"

God did not answer him. So he used the wealth, wisdom and magic that God gave him to build the tower to the throne of God.

He knew that new life did not originate from his mother, but from corruption - seeing the rotten cow corpse produce bees, and the rotten mud produces worms. So he sealed his seeds in horse manure and used magic fire to deteriorate it.

He carefully protected the flask in the roast, and did not allow any female element to contaminate the purity in it - because what Eve did was to let Adam fall.

He tried to imitate the gods and created the original life with simple skills.

The scorching fire lasted for a full forty days, and a child appeared in the roasted flask. He was overjoyed and took care of the flask more carefully until the forty-fourth day, the child opened his eyes in the flask.

He heard the child say in the flask:

"If I want to grow up, I need silver."

He did not doubt the wisdom of that child. Because it was a skill rather than a son of the mother, just as Adam without original sin was closer to God than him.

He threw silver into the flask as the child said. So he could no longer turn the river water into silver.

On the forty-eighth day, the child said:

"If I want to grow up, I need gold."

He threw gold into the flask as the child said. So he could no longer turn the mountains into gold.

On the fifty-second day, the child said:

"I need water, passive, rootless water."

He dripped his tears into the flask. Since then, his tears have fallen no different from those women.

He kept losing the gifts he received from God, and the child in the flask did not grow up at all.

Until six o'clock in the morning on the sixty-sixth day, the child suddenly said:

"It's time to grow up and need one last thing."

He was overjoyed and promised that as long as the child could grow up, he could give anything.

So the child crawled out of the flask, swallowed his body and soul, and grew up.

——"This is the most popular version of the legend of 'alchemy makers'."

After saying this big talk, the drunk man took a breath and drank the wine in his glass in one go.

Amy shuddered: "This story sounds a bit scary."

The drunk man laughed: "Of course. If the poets don't add fuel to this, how could anyone be willing to listen?"

"You said... add fuel to the fire? Then what was the story like?"

"The prototype of the alchemist in this story is Paracelsus you are asking about. And the person who passed on the original version of this story-" the drunkard pointed to his nose drunk, "It's me, Joseph Dichener."

"Another barrel of ale and a roast chicken."

Amy asked the store to add a few more dishes, and then said:

"Tell me, what is the real situation?"

"The adapted legend actually has many unreasonable aspects. Paracelsus is a believer of the Abrahamic Church. The adapted people probably don't know that ordinary Abrahamic church members cannot get any protection from their gods. In fact, Paracelsus did not have magic when he came to the academy. His magic was learned after staying in the school for several years."

"Also, the adapted poet probably heard that he was a powerful alchemist, so he said that he could turn gold and silver. But those who know Paracelsus knew that he never studied the transformation of metal - or in other words, he never bothered to study transformation. This is probably the first of all alchemists in history."

This is a bit similar to the girl Amy knew. So Amy focused and listened carefully to Joseph continuing.

"Innately, an alchemist graduated on the day of admission, which is the first time in the history of college. But in fact, if Paracelsus wanted, he would definitely do this. He entered the school with unparalleled alchemy techniques. The purpose of admission was not to learn, but to spread his new theories about alchemy to the alchemists in the school."

"It is now said that Paracelsus controls the fire element and the wind element, which is completely nonsense. Paracelsus does not agree with Aristotle's four-element theory at all. He added another salt to Jabir's mercury sulfide to explain the composition of matter. Jabir's mercury theory corresponds to Aristotle's four-element theory, but his new theory is completely isolated from Aristotle's four-element theory - this novel statement naturally cannot be recognized by alchemists."

"Paracelsus stayed in school for several years and had been unknown. He knew that in order to convince people of his doctrine, he had to use a great enough achievement to challenge the authority of Aristotle and Jabir. So he turned his attention to organic matter - because the mercury theory of mercury can only explain metals, while his three-element theory of mercury salt can be used to explain organic matter. He wanted people to see the advanced nature of his doctrine."

"Then he is going to use alchemy to create humans?" Amy asked curiously. The span from organic matter to humans is still a bit large after all.

"This is just one of the reasons. There is another more important reason: He wants to use this to master all the knowledge about the world."

"All knowledge?"

"Yes, all knowledge. Some sects of the Abraham Church hold the view that the entire Bible is a code book, which hides the knowledge of God. Paracelsus believes this statement. He found this passage from Genesis: 'Let us create man according to my image and in our style'. Note that God used 'we' to say this passage, not 'I'. Paracelsus believed that God was suggesting that people create man with skills. And knowledge about the world will be spoken by the mouth of the created man."

After answering Amy's question, Joseph cleared his throat and continued:

"I don't know what method he created humans. Anyway, it won't be a simple process like the legendary one. He worked hard for this goal for many years. During this period, his magic level has become more and more high, reaching a shocking level. However, he is not popular in the school, and only three people who know that he has learned magic include me."

"Then, it's the critical night-"

Joseph's expression suddenly became serious.

"That night, I accidentally fell asleep in my lab. It was already midnight when I woke up. It was very cold and I was about to go back to my room to continue sleeping. When I passed by Paracelsus's laboratory, I suddenly found that the lights were still on there and there was a sound of people talking inside."

"I heard Paracelsus ask in it: 'Can you tell me what elements are made of matter?'"

"Then, a girl's voice replied: 'Sulphur, mercury, salt'."

"So Paracelsus cheered inside and shouted, 'I'm right, I'm right!'"

"I was very curious. When I looked through the crack in the door, there was a girl standing opposite Paracelsus, wrapped in a sheet of paper. Her face was very beautiful. How could there be such a beautiful girl in the world? It was like... it was carved out by artificially."

Amy held her breath. She knew who the girl Joseph was describing was.

"Paracelsus then asked several more questions, and I hid behind the door and wrote down these questions and answers in a hurry. As I said before, if this girl was a person created by Paracelsus with alchemy, then what she was talking about was the most important truth in this world."

"Although there was a door, I could feel that Paracelsus was getting more and more excited. After all, the girl's answer to each question confirmed Paracelsus's previous opinion. About half an hour later, Paracelsus asked all the academic questions and suddenly asked again: 'What is your name?'"

"Wait!" Amy interrupted Joseph, "Isn't it the man created by Paracelsus? Why did he ask her name?"

"Although it was created by Paracelsus, in fact, it was the messenger of God who came with all the wisdom of the world. So it should be believed that she had a name in its original form - the Abrahamic church attaches great importance to the name of God. Then, do you know what the girl answered?"

“What was answered?”

Joseph suddenly reached Amy, his eyes filled with blood.
