Chapter 30: The Future of Almani (2)

"Where should the future of the Almany Federation go?"

Ella also looked at Alfred. The three people present were Swedish king of the pirate kingdom, Alfred was the Knight King of Britain, and Amy could almost be regarded as the Sun King of Aztland. Logically speaking, the future of the Almany Federation should not be discussed by the three of them. But since Alfred said that, he must have his considerations.

"I understand." She nodded seriously, "After meeting these lords who came this time, let's talk in the tent."

Those lords said nothing more than common sentences: first give gifts to express kindness, then praise Ella and Alfred with praise, and then express the willingness to get along with each other with friendly relations. Some lords would propose that Alfred or the King of Sweden educate their sons and daughters, but in fact they would take the initiative to take their children as hostages to build relationships and exchange for peace.

Of course, Ella had no reason to reject these proposals. However, during the conversation, she would ask each lord what they thought of the Orthodox Church of Abraham.

Those lords were not fools. When Ella asked, they understood God's heart and each of them beat their chests and sweared to expel the Abraham church from their territory, even if they would disobey the consul's orders.

Ella remembered what Duke Otto had done to the Abraham Church before.

"This will persecute innocent believers. In fact, it doesn't matter if you retain the church. It's just that God who believes in it has replaced one." She said, "But the control of the church cannot be in the Heavenly Empire, but in your own hands. Change all the priests in the church to your confidants, so that the response will be smaller."

Some lords nodded and praised this method, but some lords would be disbelief: "I heard it right? Are you saying that we, these secular lords, will control the church in the territory?"

"If you can't even do such a small thing," Ella said to the lords, "you can bring your gifts back. I will find someone to help you do it."

After this sentence is said, basically no lord dares to continue to question it.

The meeting was over. Ella did not say that they would stay overnight, and these lords did not dare to stay for more. After putting down the gift, they hurriedly left here.

Alfred sat back on the chair and took a sip of the black tea the lords brought.

"You should have discovered that the death of the Duke of Aquitaine has a great impact on the current form of the Almani Federation."

"Yes, I see it." Ella said, "These lords are afraid of me now. After all, the result of that battle is too cruel."

Alfred shook his head: "King of Sweden, it seems you haven't really realized the influence we have now."

“How to say it?”

"The Almani Federation has a nominal consul as the supreme leader, but in fact the candidates for the consul are the product of political compromises among many great princes. In recent years, the great princes of the Federation have been a little hurt because of the war. The only one who still maintains a certain strength is the Duke of Aquitaine who has just been eliminated by us."

Ella nodded: "I've heard of this."

"In fact, because of this, the Duke of Aquitaine has long been considered the designated candidate for the next consul. His faction has expanded very much...very large, so big that it can shake the foundation of the Almany federal foundation."

"I can see it," said Ella. "It is enough to tell everything about his courage to lead troops to attack Paris."

"Then do you think," Alfred looked into Ella's eyes, "How many lords in the Duke of Aquitaine's faction have drunk that potion?"

Ella almost jumped out of the chair: "What do you mean?"

Alfred nodded.

"Before I came to find you, I asked the son of the Duke of Normandy. It seemed that when the Duke of Aquitaine tried to pull his father into the faction, he also gave him potions, which were about a few hundred bottles. However, the Duke of Normandy was suspicious of the potion of unknown origin. He did not drink it himself, but used it for a group of pirates as a test, so he survived this time. But I think there are a few people like him."

"You mean," Ella swallowed, "There are far more than the army in front of us who died because of this potion. The vast majority of the lords of the Duke of Aquitaine...the number of lords who were enough to shake the foundation of the Federation were all killed because of this potion?"

Alfred nodded again.

"I heard that at the border between the Pirate Kingdom and the Almani Federation, the army of the Duke of Aquitaine was fighting with the Pirate Kingdom's army? Who is the commander of the Pirate Kingdom?"

"If nothing unexpected happens, it is Haral, the hair salon king." Ella replied.

"Haral, that's not a good deal. I'm afraid he's counterattacking the Almani Federation like a beast, and the Almani Federation may no longer have the ability to resist his invasion for a while. I can say it's no exaggeration that the Almani Federation has now fallen into our control. I had thought about fighting for an alliance with it before, but now, I think the value of the alliance with him no longer exists. It's more straightforward to directly incorporate it into our control than the alliance."

Alfred stared at Ella's eyes, and Ella saw that his pupils were full of ambitions:

"There are only two variables now. One is the life and death of the apostle, but since the potion is so effective, I think he is probably dead; the other is the Earl of France. What exactly is he going to do? I don't know. If he is still alive, it will become a big obstacle, but I think he is also dead. I will just say, how about we divide the territory of the King of Sweden and Almani?"

"Will this arouse a lot of resistance?" Amy questioned from the side.

The old saying goes, "It is good to chew too much." Alfred said, "But we can abolish the position of the consul first and dissolve the Almany Federation - this was originally a very loose federation, and it is easy to disband them. In this way, some little lords will naturally worry about their safety and seek our protection. Wars will soon occur between the lords, and we can eat them step by step."

Ella sighed and shook her head.

"Afu, Meli's life and death are uncertain now, aren't you worried?"

"Melly?" Alfred was stunned. "I'm still alive, so she must be alive, just like before. Does this have anything to do with what we're talking about now?"

"If you care about Meli, you should know that it is far from the time to divide the Almany Federation. Our real enemy is on the other side of the sea, staring at us fiercely." Ella stared at Alfred, "You said that there would be a little lord seeking our asylum, and then there would be a little lord seeking the asylum of the Tianfang Empire, right? Afu, you should know that compared to us, the Tianfang Empire seems to be much stronger. Who will benefit the most when disbanding the Federation? I think the current value of the Almany Federation lies in its unification. Only a unified federation can contribute to us when we fight against the Tianfang Empire."

"So, you mean, we support a puppet?"
