Chapter 163: Military Reform

The headquarters of the Golden Force is located in Zhaojiabao. Currently, there are Shandong Gold Brigade, California Gold Brigade, Liaodong Gold Brigade, and now the North Korean Gold Brigade is established.

There are five gold brigades in total!

In terms of gold production, California is undoubtedly the highest, exporting 300,000 taels of gold to the local area every year, and the amount is still increasing. The second is North Korea. According to the production under the management of North Korea, there is about 150,000 taels of gold output every year. Silver and copper are combined, and there are four million taels of precious metals worth every year.

Shandong's gold production is also good. Since Zhao Yan controlled Shandong, he immediately took the gold mines in Shandong. Except for a few gold and silver mines controlled by the imperial court, the other black mines were captured by Zhao Yan. The annual gold production was about 80,000 taels, and the total value was only 1.5 million taels.

There are still few gold mines in Liaodong, mainly because the territory currently controlled is not large, and the precious metals in Liaodong are still quite considerable, especially to the north and west, the cold Siberia has many precious metal minerals in that vast forest.

Next year, it is expected that the precious metals in various places alone will reach nearly tens of millions of taels of silver. Although this number seems to be a lot, it is less than a fraction of the annual mining volume in later generations. There are still a large number of undiscovered gold and silver production areas in the world.

It will even exceed this forecast next year.

Millions of Koreans died, and now only half are left. Zhao Yan's acceptance of North Korea was very smooth. When the Koreans saw that the Qing Dynasty was defeated by the Shandong army, they knew the truth and entered Zhao Yan's rule.

North Korea's three thousand miles of land are all in the hands of Zhao Yan.

The development of North Korea and Liaodong must also be carried out in time. But at the same time, the offensive against Liaodong should also be carried out next year.

However, the current military system does not allow Zhao Yan to do this, because his troops are very small, the professional army must be increased and the organization must be changed.

The plan to reform the military system and expand its troops was soon put on the desk. The General Staff began to constantly discuss the reform of the reform and what should be changed into.

Finally, according to the plan given by Zhao Yan, it was slightly modified and set it to be one class with ten people, three classes as one platoon, and three platoons as one company.

The company is divided into three-digit systems below the company level. One company has ninety combat personnel, equipped with cooks, communicators, investigators, etc., and is composed into one hundred people. Among them, six cooks, two communicators, and two investigators.

The company-level units are divided into five types: long spear company, musket company, artillery company, cavalry company, and engineer company.

Units above the company level shall adopt a five-digit system, and the fifth company shall be the first battalion.

The infantry battalion has six hundred and ten people, one spear company, three musket company, one artillery company, plus a rocket platoon, one reconnaissance platoon, one cooking platoon, and one communication squad.

The cavalry battalion has 570 people, no rocket platoons. The artillery battalion has 570 people, no rocket platoons, and the engineering battalion has 570 people.

Five battalions are a regiment.

The infantry regiment has an artillery battalion, a cavalry battalion, and three infantry battalions. One communication platoon, one reconnaissance company, one cooking company, and one engineer company.

Three regiments are a brigade.

Each brigade has 13,830 people, three infantry regiments, plus one cavalry battalion and three engineering battalions.

Infantry Company: 90 combatants, 6 semi-combatant cooks, 2 correspondents, 2 investigators, 2 investigators, a total of 100 people.

Infantry battalion: 90 spearmen, 270 musketeers, 90 artillery soldiers, 30 rocket soldiers, 40 investigators, 40 cooks, 20 communicators, a total of 610 people.

Infantry Regiment: 270 spearmen, 810 musketeers, 500 cavalry, 770 artillery, 150 rocket soldiers, 300 investigators, 130 communicators, 300 cooks, 100 engineers, a total of 3,330 people.

Infantry Brigade: 810 spearmen, 2430 musketeers, 2000 cavalry, 2310 artillery, 450 rocket soldiers, 1060 scouts, 590 communicators, 1060 cooks, 1800 engineers, a total of 12,510 people.

The new military system is divided into two ways: joint combat and decentralized combat. However, when the troops are jointly fighting, there are obviously too many scouts and too many communicators. Therefore, scouts can be incorporated into the cavalry, and the number of cavalry can be increased to 3,000. Corps and battalion level correspondents can also be incorporated into the troops belonging to the unit.

At the same time, 1,800 engineers can be converted into pikes and musketeers at any time depending on the situation.

When fighting scattered, there are not many scouts and correspondents. After all, each unit needs to have people to investigate and contact, otherwise it will be messy.

There are two options for decentralized combat. One is to use battalions or even company-level as field units, provided that the opponent has no cavalry.

The second option is to use the regiment level as the field unit and the battalion and company as the city defense combat unit, provided that the opponent has cavalry.

The reason for this division is that the regiment level is equipped with a cavalry battalion, which can effectively protect both wings from enemy cavalry.

At the same time, in both cases, the entire brigade can be concentrated and the enemy can be engaged in battles.

Compared with the complex surnames of infantry and the mixed surnames of multiple armies, the organization of cavalry is much simpler.

Cavalry that is not organized into infantry units in everything is five companies in one battalion, five hundred people in one battalion, three thousand people in one regiment, three cavalry regiments in one brigade, and one cavalry and artillery regiment.

In addition to the cavalry and artillery regiment, other cavalry units can fight at any time, whether they are scouts, communications, or cooks.

The cavalry and artillery regiment is different. The cavalry and artillery regiment is set to 4,000 people, divided into baggage troops, gunners, scouts, commanders, etc. It is equipped with 100 125mm field guns and 300 75mm howitzers. Each 125mm field gun is dragged by four horses, and the 75mm howitzers are dragged by two horses.

The cavalry brigade can carry out individual combat or cooperate with infantry combat. At the same time, several brigades can be organized into divisions for expeditions.

The baggage troops were separated from the various organizations and formed a supply system for companies to companies, battalions to battalions, regiments to regiments, and brigades to brigades.

Each battalion, regiment, and brigade corresponds to a baggage, regiment, brigade, and there are company levels below, with the number of people set up at 3:1.

Thirty soldiers correspond to ten baggage soldiers. One baggage soldier is responsible for the logistics transportation of three soldiers. In addition to food and grass, there are also ammunition, clothing, etc.

When the troops are concentrated in combat, the baggage unit is also concentrated in one place. If it is scattered in combat, the self-heavy troops will also divide the corresponding units to follow. Some transport the baggage and the part will travel back and forth to the superior baggage unit to transport the baggage, while the superior baggage unit will travel back and forth to the docks and other places to transport the baggage.

After the railway line is completed in the future, there will be no need to be such trouble.

In addition, Zhao Yan also proposed a plan for the construction of mountain troops.

Mountain troops, fighting in the mountains, face difficulties such as severe cold and inconvenient transportation. At the same time, due to terrain, it is impossible for the troops to be deployed on a large scale.

Therefore, mountain troops should be flexible and small, and have tenacious survival skills.

Qin Liangyu's white-rod soldiers have learned this because of the clever design of the spear, which allows soldiers to move flexibly in the rugged mountains. Zhao Yan has learned this.

The mountain troops are still in a row of thirty people, one hundred people in a company, ten people in a company are spearmen, and twenty people are musketeers.

It is also the same with six hundred men, one battalion, four infantry battalions, and one artillery company. The artillery company is equipped with 30 75mm howitzers with a weight reduced to about 130 kilograms, with a range of only 400 meters.

In mountain combat, it is obviously impossible to expand the troops. Even if the enemy approaches, there is no pressure. Spearmen and musketeers can resist the enemy's attack well in the relatively narrow terrain. Naturally, artillery soldiers do not need to fight that far, as long as they can suppress the enemy in front of them.

The regiment-level mountain troops were equipped with 125mm siege cannons and howitzers, mainly for attacking.

The mountain troops do not have brigade-level units.

According to this plan, the General Staff is calculating how many brigades the current forces and township brawls can form, and Zhao Yan went to the sniper school to inspect.

When he walked into the sniper school, he immediately saw many soldiers shooting targets, disguising training, etc. As soon as Zhao Yan came, the principal of the sniper school came to report on the training situation.

Since the opening of the sniper school, it has recruited nearly 2,000 musketeers with good shooting skills, all equipped with double scopes developed by the Science and Technology Academy.

The new musket has a range of 700 meters and an effective range of more than 500 meters. According to the principal of the sniper school, most soldiers can accurately hit targets with a target of 300 meters without using a scope, and some can hit targets with a target of 300 meters without using a scope.

When we reach the five hundred meters goal, the accuracy rate is not that high, but it also exceeds 60%.

Zhao Yan nodded with great satisfaction, thinking that these snipers could be sent to the battlefield to practice, and they would be almost the same as they practiced to this level, and now they are missing experience.

You can't summarize any experience by practicing hard in school. Zhao Yan's experience is not very professional, so you have to constantly summarize experience through practice.

Just be able to accurately kill people from three hundred meters away. Snipers are not carried out as people imagined, thousands of meters away, or even two or three thousand meters away. It is a special sniper rifle. It is either a very important person or an enemy ammunition depot or oil depot.

The average sniper on the battlefield is only two or three hundred meters away, and no matter how far away, you will not be able to see people. Unless you use a scope, like the king of snipers in World War II, you don’t use a scope. At the same time, during the Korean War, Chinese snipers did not have scopes. At the same time, when Western countries can create high-magnification scopes, they only use 2.5 times.

The biggest problem with the development of snipers at present is gunpowder, because thick smoke will appear after snipers, and the enemy can tell where the sniper is hiding at a glance.

Therefore, the act of sniping alone can only be carried out in the mountains so that it is easier to escape. In other terrains, it can only be incorporated into combat troops.

Snipers were not popularized into the army until World War II, but Zhao Yan planned to popularize snipers into the army now. Seeing that the soldiers in the sniper school had almost been trained, Zhao Yan decided to assign them to each company to fight.
