Chapter two hundred and eighty warm heart

It was not Gao Wen's whim about building a professional research facility like the Magic Technology Institute, which is different from traditional magic laboratories. In fact, this plan has been brewing in his mind for a long time, and today it was just a chance to speak out.

To date, the infrastructure has been increasingly improved. Maintaining the survival of the people and ensuring the security of the territory is no longer a deadly problem. The industrial foundation of the territory has also been established step by step in the construction process from scratch. However, when all this is developing rapidly, one thing has gradually become Gao Wen’s most worried part: R&D.

There are not a team of magic technicians in the territory without R&D personnel Jenny, Rebecca, Carmier, and Rune Craftsmen. Hetty, who has gradually shifted his work focus to internal affairs recently, and Gao Wen, who is the lord, can be regarded as "technicians". However, a bunch of people alone is not enough. A supporting R&D system must be established. This system must conform to the characteristics of the emerging thing of "magic industry".

The traditional magic lab and the workshop model composed of craftsman-apprentice obviously do not meet this requirement.

The Rune Research Institute, which was established before, was a step for Gao Wen to establish a research and development system, but not all. According to Gao Wen's prospects of rune logic and his judgment on Jenny's personal abilities, he believed that the future development direction of Rune Research Institute should be more inclined to theory. Although the current magic array simplification project directly connects with the "rune substrate design and production" link in the territory, as Jenny's research on this field continues to deepen, and with Carmier's research on the nature of magic and Jenny's research, rune logic will sooner or later enter a more pure field of relying on mathematical tools and logical deduction to explore the truth.

The Magic Technology Research Institute is Gao Wen’s second step: a R&D institution that is more oriented towards practical fields and can incorporate the emerging profession of "magic technician" in the territory into a standardized standard.

The "magic technicians" in Cecil's territory are an unprecedented new profession. Most of them are from rune craftsmen, and some are from down-and-out scholars and recruited mage apprentices to be transferred and trained. They can be said to be the most elite technical group in the territory except for a few top technicians, but even the most elite technicians, there is no place for these people in the traditional magic laboratory. They cannot participate in research and development, which is a huge waste in Gao Wen's opinion.

So he had to establish a "new order" that allows these people who do not have magical talents but have magic knowledge to participate in research and development.

Only by opening up the "R&D" link as the source to ordinary people without magical talent, can Gao Wen's "magic popularization" plan be considered truly successful. Otherwise, just allowing ordinary people to use magic devices will not be considered as unlocking the shackles of "magic talent".

Of course, it is not the best choice to generally divide the two academic fields of theory and application and set up two facilities to carry out separately, but this is not the final form of the R&D system of the "magic industrial age" imagined by Gao Wen. He is now building a simple and fast framework according to the actual situation of the territory. When the development level increases, these frameworks will naturally need to be adjusted.

He took this opportunity to slowly express his thoughts, while Hetty and Rebecca listened carefully to this new concept, but for the two who were often instilled with brand new concepts by their ancestors, they could still understand as long as they listened carefully.

After listening to Gao Wen's description, Hetty was shocked by the prospect of one or several teams overcoming technical difficulties in an orderly and objective manner. Anyone who has sufficient knowledge to participate in the research of any magic project. As a mage who grew up with traditional education, she never thought that the "laboratory" could still operate like this, but in addition to being shocked, she was also a little worried: "Ancestor, your idea is indeed very...longing, but you confirm that Rebecca can..."

"I can!" Before Hetty finished speaking, Rebecca raised his hand in a hurry, "I can definitely do it!"

"Be more confident in Rebecca," Gao Wen smiled and pressed Rebecca's hair, then looked at Hetty, "I know she has many things that make you headache, but you also have to see her talent. And then... How can the descendant of the Cecil family, the general manager of the Magic Technology Department, not even have his own laboratory! It's a joke to tell it."

Rebecca's eyes shining: "Sir, Ancestor..."

Gao Wen followed without waiting for the other party to be moved, "But ugly words must be said in the front. If you really blow up the magic lab, you have to be responsible for it whether it is reconstruction or aftermath."

Rebecca: “…oh.”

After talking about the establishment of the Magic Technology Research Institute, Gao Wen and Hetty asked Rebecca's current physical condition and confirmed that the girl had completely recovered after waking up. This made Gao Wen feel that she was a naughty child who could run to the forest to fight with wolves before she became an adult. Her physical fitness was so strong that she would just sleep with a mental overload. Rebecca's brain not only had high physical defense, but was afraid she would not be able to avoid the devil...

After confirming that he would not be knocked today and even gained a laboratory of his own, Rebecca turned over and sat up from the bed, "I'm going to get up. I've been lying for so long, and I feel uncomfortable all over."

Her vitality will always be so full of energy.

Gao Wen stood up from the bed with a smile, and from the corner of his eyes, he swept the manuscript paper and formulas that Rebecca had pasted on the dressing mirror again. The content on it suddenly aroused his interest: "By the way... these things are you researching recently? Shouldn't you be busy designing a detection auxiliary magic array used on tactical helmets during this period?"

"Ah, that part is almost done. I am going to put the effect of detecting distorted spells on the lenses made of white crystals, leaving only some small problems in processing technology," Rebecca waved his hand, then pointed to the draft on the dressing mirror. "These are the things that Jenny has been studying recently. I found it interesting to see these things, so I copied them back and calculated them myself. But... these things were unexpectedly difficult."

Gao Wen frowned and looked at the things. He saw a strange curve and a lot of data listed. Those things seemed to not only be the calculation process, but also included a large number of actual measured parameters. However, those parameters were really complex and numerous, which far exceeded the mathematical expressions of the interference knots and rune knots he saw in Jenny's rune logic materials.

He couldn't help asking, "What is this?"

"It is said that Master Carmier got the Rune Research Institute," Rebecca scratched his hair that was a little messy because of sleeping (Hetty glared at this indecent action). "It was after the magical obelisk was activated, the fluctuation frequency, attenuation data of the surrounding magic field, as well as the frequency of magic power in normal natural environments, and many parameters of the two magic field superposition areas. Jenny wanted to find the rules from this and find a data that can accurately describe the intensity, attenuation, frequency and other data of the magic field at any point when the known parameters are determined... Methods, and you must accurately calculate the distribution of the magic field after the superposition of magic fields and produce distortions... Ah, you also have to find the distribution model of the magic field in three-dimensional space... To be honest, now I have no idea."

Gao Wen became more and more surprised as he heard it. At the end, he couldn't help but mutter to himself: "Have she reached this point..."

"Sir, this question is really difficult!" Rebecca did not hear Gao Wen's words to himself, but sighed himself, "It is different from the fixed data of the interference knot and the rune knot. The magic field is a thing that is constantly changing. The frequency can change, the intensity will decay with the distance, and it will affect each other with the primitive magic power in the natural environment. After the two magic fields are superimposed, the situation is even more complicated several times, which is impossible to calculate... But Jenny said that these things must be clear, otherwise we will not know what the problem is when this technology develops to a bottleneck in the future..."

Gao Wen couldn't help but rub his eyebrows. He noticed that there was a special calculation paper in the middle of the handwritten manuscripts, which depicted a series of curves and formulas related to the curves. Such things made him slightly stunned: "This is you and Jenny..."

"Ah, this is not, this is what Master Carmier taught us," Rebecca quickly explained, "Master Carmier said that this is the calculation method used by the magicians of the ancient Gondor Empire when calculating the 'arcanal distortion effect' similar to the magic field. The changes can be described by numbers. Master Carmier said that this helps solve the problem of the magic field, but Jenny and I are not very... "

Gao Wen looked at the content on the paper in surprise. He did not hear the next half of Rebecca's words, but muttered to himself: "It turns out that the magicians of the Gondor era... already know how to use functions?"

"Hand...what?" Rebecca was stunned for a moment. Obviously, what Carmire told her was not the word, "Master Carmire said this is called 'Change Variation'..."

"Ah no, it's nothing. Let's change the generation because of the generation." Gao Wen exhaled softly, slowly calming down his surprise.

It should not be so surprised, nor should it be so surprised. This is natural. Although the magicians in this world went astray in the process of studying the mysteries of magic and began to blindly pursue the strength of personal power and the improvement of magic skills, this does not mean that they can only cast spells violently. In fact, even for the most traditional classical wizards, mathematical tools are indispensable. They need mathematical assistance to draw magic circles and adjust their magic models, or make potions and make magic props. "Computation" has always been a compulsory course for mages, which is true in the present, and of course even more so in the ancient Gondor Empire.

However, "computing" has never been popularized and has not developed to a higher level. For current mages, current mathematical tools are already sufficient.

The Gondor Empire once had the opportunity to build the edifice of mathematics, but that powerful empire ultimately failed to break through the shackles of "the extraordinary belongs to the extraordinary". The old extraordinary system restricted the development of many disciplines in the later period and led to the disappearance of these precious knowledge with the destruction of the imperial elites. This is really regrettable.

But it doesn't matter. You won't be afraid of not developing it. With this foundation, it is much better than what Gao Wen expected.

Rebecca is stupid...the smart roe deer's head seems to be very good.

Gao Wen looked at his great-great-great-granddaughter and suddenly showed a heartwarming smile. Facing such a girl who longed for knowledge, he decided to be a generous and good grandfather:
