Chapter 2 What the hell is it after climbing out of the coffin

As the heavy stone door slowly closed under the push of the ancient spell, the power of magic wandered along the grooves on the walls and ground, forming a closed energy cycle, and the nightmare world outside seemed to be completely isolated.

I could not hear the roar of the captain of the guard, nor the screams of the injured and dying people, nor the roars and roars of the terrifying monsters. All the sounds were blocked by heavy and thick stones and steel. Although everyone knew that the barrier was only temporary, in this moment of peace, Rebecca could not help but breathe a long breath - how great it would be if the hell outside was really just a nightmare.

However, the next second, Rebecca shook her hair hard, leaving all the weak thoughts that emerged in her mind. The heavy rocks and steel did not bring true long-term security, but could weaken her will and make her indulge in this short-term illusion of safety. Thinking of this, the young heir of the Cecil family couldn't help but hold the dim staff in her hand tightly, and hoped that this weapon would give her more courage.

The voice of family knight Byron Kirk came from behind: "Master Viscount, the passage has been blocked, and those monsters should not be able to enter for a short time."

Rebecca looked back at the loyal knight. The opponent's steel armor was covered with scars, and there was a small depression on his chest. There was a clear burn mark on his gray-white short hair. That was when Aunt Hetty burned the knight with a big fireball to save the knight from a monster. The situation was so thrilling at that time. The fireball almost exploded against the scalp of the mid-level knight. If it weren't for the favor of the God of Luck, the knight who had been loyal to the family for twenty years might have turned into a corpse.

Of course, Rebecca was not sure if this was because Aunt Hetty's famous "magic will never hit anyone" physique that was effective...

"Thank you, Knight Byron," Rebecca lowered her eyelids to hide the fatigue in her eyes, "we can at least take a breath."

Then she turned around and looked at the few people left beside her: three soldiers were holding torches to guard the surroundings, Aunt Hetty was holding a burning fireball in her hand and carefully looking at the wall at the end of the stone hall. The little maid Betty, who was following her in a confused manner, held the pan she had taken all the way, timidly hiding behind the soldiers, and was looking at the place curiously with her big eyes.

Including herself and the Byron Knight, these seven people are probably the last survivors now - those who stay on the surface cannot survive.

After confirming everyone's condition, Rebecca couldn't help but look at the situation in the stone hall.

This is a place of time. Cobwebs and thick dust can be seen everywhere in the rectangular stone hall. Some decaying objects are piled on one end of the hall. Although they are old, they can still see their former exquisiteness and luxury. On the walls around the stone hall, there are still complete murals and reliefs. Although the murals have faded and the reliefs are slightly worn, they still do not affect viewing.

Heti Cecil carefully looked at the murals and reliefs for a long time. Compared with the frivolous style that emerged in modern times and originated from the frivolous and unrealistic styles of the northern countries, all the decorations in this stone hall appear solemn and simple, with a distinct "first dynasty" atmosphere. The murals are used to depict heroic images or customs, while the reliefs are engraved with scenes that tend toward myths and legends and abstract god symbols. As a learned spellcaster, Heti is good at interpreting useful things from these ancient pictures.

Looking at the contents of the murals and reliefs, Hetty couldn't help but put his left hand on his chest and whispered: "May the ancestors forgive..."

"Aunt Hedy," Rebecca came to Hedy with a staff. The young girl's face was a little nervous. Until now, she seemed to finally realize what kind of place she had stepped into and became a little uneasy. "Here..."

"This is the place where the ancestors of the Cecil family sleep," Hetty said seriously, "Don't do anything rude."

Rebecca swallowed and looked around: "It seems that no one has been in for a long time..."

"Since the Marquis Grumman took the holy objects from the ancestral tomb a hundred years ago and participated in the rebellion that almost caused the family to be destroyed, this place has been completely blocked. Everyone of the descendants of the Cecil family knows how to open it, but due to the family order, no one dares to come in without permission unless it is a matter of life and death," Hetty glanced at Rebecca deeply, "We have been the first people to step into this place for a hundred years."

"It's really time to reach that 'life and death'..." Rebecca took a deep breath, "Ancestors will forgive us, right?"

Hetty smiled stiffly. She couldn't answer this question, so she had to follow the prompts on the mural to continue looking for the mechanism to open the deep tomb chamber.

Without much effort, she found the special stone pillar, then pressed her hand on the top of the stone pillar, and pressed it down slightly.

The stone door leading to the deep tomb chamber immediately vibrated slightly, and then the entire stone slab slowly rose up with the sound of friction.

But just as the stone door rose, Rebecca heard a strange sound coming from behind the stone door - a sound of objects falling to the ground came from behind the door, followed by an uncontrollable scream.

"There's someone inside?" Herty also reacted immediately and shouted in a low voice, "Byron!"

Without waiting for more orders, the knight had already snatched the sword and rushed towards the direction of the stone gate, while the other three soldiers followed closely. After a moment of silence, Rebecca immediately rushed up, and ordered the confused little maid without looking back: "Betty! Find a place to hide!"

As soon as he rushed into the tomb, Rebecca saw the Byron Knight who had rushed in before slashing at a quick petite figure.

The petite figure rushed around the Byron Knight like a gust of wind, and from time to time turned into a ball of black smoke and escaped into the ubiquitous shadow area in the tomb chamber. Her power of the shadow and her agility in footwork opened Rebecca's eyes. Usually, she couldn't see a few stalkers who could be entangled with the Byron Knight for so long. However, as the remaining three soldiers completed the encirclement and Hetty, who had a flame wrapped around his hands, blocked the door of the tomb chamber, the agile figure completely lost the space to escape and landed on the ground in a mess.

After she stopped, Rebecca saw clearly the appearance of the invader - a girl who looked about the same age as her, but was shorter than herself. She was wearing old leather armor and had short hair with ears. She looked beautiful. Although there were a lot of stains on her face, she could still tell that she was a beauty. The most eye-catching thing was the other person's ears, which were pointed but not as long as the elves, which was enough to show her bloodline: a mixed-race elf.

But it is impossible to judge what her other half of her bloodline is. After all, the bloodline power of the elves is so powerful. Basically, the racial characteristics of humans, orcs and elves are similar after mixed blood.

As soon as the mixed-blooded elf girl landed, Knight Byron stepped forward and placed the sword on the other party's neck. The remaining three soldiers immediately surrounded each other, and the three sharp swords blocked all the escape routes of the other party.

"Who are you? How dare you break into the ancestral tomb of the Cecil family?!" Heti strode forward, his tone with irresistible anger. For a descendant of a nobleman like her, the ancestral tomb being patronized by tomb robbers was enough to make her angry. Once this incident spreads, the shaky reputation of the Cecil family may be over.

Rebecca also stared at the mixed-blood elf. Although this emergencies made her a little confused, an outsider appeared in the forbidden ancestral tomb, which made her angry enough.

The half-elf girl was pressed by the long sword, and was glared by Heti and Rebecca, and her voice trembled: "Wait... wait a moment! I haven't stolen anything yet!"

The long sword in Byron's hand suddenly pressed down again: "You are so brave!"

As soon as the Knight finished speaking, he heard a strange sound of Krakela suddenly coming from the black steel coffin in the center of the tomb. The strange sound immediately came into everyone's ears, and everyone, including Rebecca, suddenly became quiet.

A moment later, Rebecca was the first to react. A fist-sized fireball appeared at the top of her staff, pointing at the half-kneeling mixed-blood elves: "What did you do to our ancestors?!"

The half-elf girl was really about to cry this time: "Don't... don't kill me first! It's hard to suppress the coffin board of your ancestors!"

With the half-elf girl crying, the sound in the black steel coffin became louder and louder, and even the lid of the coffin vibrated significantly.

"Ancestor!" Hedy suddenly lost his appearance. This lady, who has always been known for her dignity and elegance in the aristocratic circle, was so disobedient for the first time. "Please rest in peace! Those who disturb you will be punished..."

The half-elf girl started yelling: "What's the point of nonsense at this time! Hurry up and press down on your ancestor's coffin board!"

The three soldiers looked at each other, and even Byron was confused, but at this time, Rebecca reacted. She rushed to the platform where the coffin was placed. At the same time, the lid of the coffin had been completely pushed open and one hand also poked out of the gap.

Seeing this, Rebecca picked up his staff without saying a word and threw it down: "Sir, Ancestor! Rest in peace!!"

The hand was smashed back into the coffin on the spot, and there was a painful cry from the coffin: "Damn who hits my hand!"

Rebecca looked up blankly, and saw his family knight, aunt and three soldiers looking at him in amazement.

Rebecca looked down at the staff on her hand. This time it was her turn to cry: "Aunt, do I feel a little disrespectful to my ancestors..."

However, Hetty suddenly shouted: "Rebecca! Get out of that!"

Rebecca was stunned: "Aunt?"

"This may be the resurrection of the undead!" Hetty's face pale, "Maybe the monsters on the surface... have corrupted the holy bones of his ancestors!"

This possibility immediately made Rebecca sweat in a cold sweat. Just as she was about to jump off the platform and hide behind the soldiers, the heavy cover of the black steel coffin was pushed up again - and this time the people in the coffin used all their strength, and the entire coffin lid was pushed away directly!

Then, a man with short light brown hair, a heroic and majestic face, and wearing ancient aristocratic costumes sat up from the inside.

The mixed-blood elf girl who was half kneeling on the ground turned her head and saw this scene, and couldn't help but sigh: "Look, your ancestors are completely cheating this time."
