Chapter 15 Disappearing

In the shadow world of black and white, Gao Wen, Amber, Betty, and an unknown wild mage sat around the humble wooden house, and in front of them were Betty's freshly prepared lunch—simple slices of bread, fried sausages, and some vegetable soup.

All of this is colorless, like ancient black and white photos.

Gao Wen did not mean to touch the food in front of him. Although he could indeed cook in the Shadow Realm, he was really not sure what consequences would be if he, a living human (probably), if he ate things from the Shadow Realm.

Amber and Betty next to them also did not use knife and fork.

The wild mage opposite the table did not urge them. He just ate the food in front of him silently, looking very quiet.

A strange tacit understanding lingers in the wooden house.

The first person to break the silence was Gao Wen: "How long have you been here?"

"It's been a long time," said the Wild Master, who put down his knife and fork, and looked very polite. "I have settled here since the second year after leaving the Secret Dharma Assembly."

"You used to be a member of the Secret Dharma Assembly?" Gao Wen asked in surprise, "I thought you had always been a wild mage."

"I was originally a second-level member of the Secret Mage," said the wild mage quietly. "By the standards of the Secret Mage, I am a bad spell caster - I am good at calculating and reasoning, but I lack the ability to convert it into a spell model. In other words, my casting level is always at the beginning, and such a mage is unpopular in the Secret Mage."

"So they drove you away?" Amber felt incredible. She knew that a real mage was very precious, even if his casting level was very poor - it was just for those masters of secret magic. In the eyes of ordinary people, even if a mage who could only release a small fireball was an amazing figure. Even if these grassroots casters were not valued in the secret magic meeting, they would not be swept out.

"I left myself," the wild mage shook his head and turned to look at Betty, "I have to leave for my daughter and to cure her."

Betty looked at the wild mage in a daze, then nodded in a daze.

Instead of entangling this issue, Gao Wen stared at the wild mage's eyes, pressed the hilt of the long sword at his waist with his right hand, and slowly said: "You should know what we are here for - we don't have much time to waste."

The wild mage's stiff and dull expression finally changed slightly. His body shook slightly, and then he lowered his head: "...Guest, I don't understand what you mean very much."

Betty looked at Gao Wen with a little nervousness: "Master?"

Gao Wen frowned, and after a moment he moved his hand away from the hilt of the Trailblazer Sword, he slowed down: "Then wait a moment."

The wild mage lowered his head and continued to eat his meal quietly and silently. During the meal, his only extra move was to raise his head from time to time and glance at Betty next to him.

The food is finally over, and Gao Wen can't wait indefinitely.

The wild mage took the last bite of sausage, then carefully wiped the soup from the soup plate with slices of bread. After he finished the meal, he looked up at Betty's direction-but his eyes were not actually focused on Betty at all, but focused on a farther place. His body was shaking, as if he was about to stand up, but he tried several times without success.

In the end, Betty helped him up.

"Dad, I'm leaving," the little girl held the wild mage's arm, and after confirming that the other party was standing firm, she let go of her hand. She strode to Gowen, "Miss Rebecca and Madam Hetty are still waiting for me-and the master is here too."

The Wild Master's lips twitched, and finally nodded gently. His expression had calmed down and he explained carefully: "Don't eat things given by strangers." "Sleep on time." "Remember to listen to the teacher." "Don't fight with other children."

The glory of reason is gradually fading from the eyes of this poor man, and Gao Wen knows that everything he says is already murmur.

Although he was almost awake during the whole process.

The figure of the wild mage gradually faded, but in the increasingly dimming phantom, a flame-like thing suddenly burned. Gao Wen had been waiting for this moment, and he quickly drew out the Trail Blazer Sword, and a faint light surged on the blade.

Amber quickly pulled Betty into her arms and covered the girl's eyes in time.

Gao Wen stabbed the long sword into the flame that was in the wild mage's chest. The flames trembled violently. The wild mage who had already transformed towards the evil spirit suddenly stopped transforming. The illusory figure quickly solidified into a physical body. Then the raging flames swallowed him and burned him into a hideous and terrifying burnt corpse.

It took half a minute before the corpse was completely destroyed.

The sound of cracks came from all directions. The wooden house quickly collapsed after losing its owner. The dense cracks covered the walls and roofs in the blink of an eye. The pale light from the outside world spilled into the house through the cracks on the wooden boards.

Gao Wen pulled Amber and Betty out of the house quickly, and the moment they ran out, the wooden house completely collapsed.

The collapsed wooden house ignited a fire in front of them. The fire lasted for a short time, as if it was not a wooden house but a paper house that was burned.

As the wooden house gradually turned into ashes and drifted with the wind, Amber suddenly pulled Gao Wen's arm and pointed at the foundation of the wooden house and screamed: "Hey! Look at that!"

Gao Wen looked at it intently and saw that under the ashes of the wooden house, a flashing line was brightening. The light shone through the floating ashes, gradually forming a complex and huge structure - it looked like a large magic array.

"This is probably the highest achievement of that wild mage in his life," Gao Wen nodded slightly, "It is probably because of the problem with this magic circle that caused him to fall into this situation."

As he spoke, Betty's figure began to gradually transform into floating spots of light. These spots flew in place for two circles, and then quickly flew towards the direction when Gao Wen and Amber came.

Amber looked down at his hands, whose hands that had turned gray and white were rejuvenating. As the colors returned to her and Gao Wen, the shadow world's rejection of them became more and more obvious.

Some shadowy things condensed from the thin mist around them. They had no shape at all, but were obviously malicious. The native residents in the shadow world finally smelled the breath of outsiders, and some things located in the shallowest layer emerged, gradually gathering like hyenas smelling blood.

"We must withdraw!" Amber said to Gao Wen, "We are not welcome in this place at the beginning!"

Gao Wen finally took a deep look at the ruins of the cottage, and tried to remember the glowing lines and symbols in his mind, then pulled Amber's arm: "Go!"

After a brief dizziness, the real world situation appeared before him again.

The mist of the resentful spirit had dissipated, and the jungle returned to its original appearance. Rebecca and Hetty, who had already lost their strength, were supporting each other and leaning against a tree. The Byron Knight supported his body with his long sword and barely guarded the two mistresses. The two surviving soldiers had collapsed to the ground.

Betty should be the best in all - she was standing next to Rebecca with a pan in her arms, as if this dull expression had solidified on her face.

After seeing Gowen, Hedy immediately supported her body and stood up: "Ancestor - it's great that you are safe!"

Then she saw Amber following Gao Wen, and her face instantly became subtle: "Didn't this thief run away?"

"Hey! What does your difference mean!" Amber suddenly jumped up like a cat with his tail stepped on. "Your ancestors and I went to the Shadow Realm for a lifetime to save you! You are a big-breasted and brainless old woman..."

Hetiwan didn't expect that this thief lady would dare to curse at him, and her face immediately became unfair: "Shut up! It's so rude! Do you know what offends the nobles like this..."

Gao Wen quickly inserted into the middle to smooth things over: "Don't argue, don't argue, Amber didn't lie, we did go to solve the crisis together just now - of course, it was her fault for her to scold you later..."

The scene was quiet for a while, and Rebecca raised his hand carefully: "My ancestor, Amber just said such a positive word, but you rejected it..."

Hetty looked desperate.

Gao Wen: "…"

Fortunately, Hetty is also a generalist and has not been struggling with these small issues for too long. After Gao Wen explained what happened before, all the misunderstandings disappeared.

What Gao Wen and Amber saw and heard in the Shadow World surprised everyone. Even the Byron Knight, who knew nothing about magic, couldn't help but come over and listen for a long time.

After all, this is an unimaginable experience for ordinary people.

"Can you actually enter the Shadow Realm?" The first thing Hetty cares about was Amber's special ability. She looked Amber up and down several times with suspicion, as if she wanted to see the answer from the half-elf-like lady's face. "Only a few high-level wizards of the Shadow-type or the 'Divine Choice' of the Shadow-type gods have this ability. How did you do it?"

Amber turned his face away: "Can I be the Goddess of Dark Night Goddess choose?"

Hetty glared at her: "Don't make a fuss, can a God choose be slapped on the ground by Byron with an ordinary steel sword?"

"Forget it, don't ask questions," Gowen finally stopped Hetty from pursuing the truth. "I have promised her not to pursue these things - she will naturally say it when she wants to."

The ancestors of heaven and earth were the greatest, and Gao Wen spoke like this, so Hetty had no choice but to stop.

"Buried the dead first," the fog dissipated, and Wen Nuan returned to everyone. Seeing that everyone had recovered a little bit of physical strength, Gao Wen got up and came to the soldier who died of his soul shattered. "He also fought bravely and should be buried like a soldier."

The two surviving soldiers looked at Gao Wen in surprise.

Gao Wen was a little puzzled: "Why, what did I say wrong?"

"He is the descendant of the serf," Knight Byron walked over from the side. "It was Lord Viscount who issued the order of grace. Only serfs like him had the opportunity to enter the territory and redeem themselves by serving - but he had just served for half a year, so he is still a serf, and such an identity cannot be buried as a warrior."

Gao Wen frowned and looked at Rebecca: "That's right?"

Rebecca immediately became nervous as if she had done something wrong: "Yes... I'm sorry! But I think the serf system is really not... not very reasonable, so I let them redeem themselves by serving. I know this is unruly, but..."

Gao Wen's brows stretched slightly: "No, I didn't blame you."

Then he bent down and groped to take a coin from his arms, stuffed the coin into the dead soldier's chest pocket and placed it against his heart.

The coin was placed by Charles I himself when Gowan Cecil was buried seven hundred years ago.

The moment Amber saw the coin, she realized what it was, and then covered her eyes: "Oh my God...at least half of the manor..."

But Gao Wen himself had no idea about this. He just completed these things according to the rules in his memory, then clapped his hands and stood up: "Now someone has redeemed the debts of his soul and buried him."

Byron hesitated a little: "But the rules..."
